she spars with other UFC fighters. She isnt sparring with just women. She is in there giving and taking punches with men who make a living fighting. She is wrestling with men. She can hang with these professional men who will have you curled up in a ball in the fetal position after a sparring session.

I dont know why people dont understand that combat sports isnt just about strength and athleticism. One of the reasons is they have trained their body to take punishment that us normal people cant take. Her body and head can take the kind of abuse that you havent trained your body to take. Unless you have been in the ring sparring once a week for the last 5+ years with world class competition then your body cant handle that punishment.

The bodyslam comes if and when she grabs me. I don't think people realize just how big an advantage size and strength are. Rousey has never fought anyone who could throw her 135 lb ass 10 feet through the air.

in Judo or BJJ or Sambo or Wrestling or some other form of grappling? Not trolling you, but I'm genuinely curious. She's been involved with Judo since she's a child and has a Judo medalist for a mother, so she's no one to take as a joke.

Skill can make up for a size disadvantage, but there's definitely a limit where superior size will likely, eventually, win out.

I'm just saying you don't wanna go to her wheelhouse. She's trained in grappling, she's very good at it and she's likely grappled with guys before (though not your size).

She's not gonna knock you out... the only way she wins is if she breaks a limb or chokes you out. So you don't wanna get close to her unless it's to finish her off.

So yes, it's not an absolute rule, but not everyone is going to be the Royce Gracie of their fighting style.

Ronda could surely handle men bigger than her but I don't think she'd beat a guy fitting JF's profile (nearly twice her size with some fighting skills)... and she likely wouldn't even try. There's a small margin for error for her to win.

For a skilled judo/jiu jitsu wrestler your height and size is an ADVANTAGE for a smaller person. You are too tall for the angles of a smaller person. Your only leverage is arm length. Once she gets inside and puts her hands on you IT.IS.OVER fam!

Now, no doubt you can handle the average man/woman with ease. But someone as skilled as her ? Sheeeeiiiiiitttttttt ... Best to swallow your ego and call to PO-lice.

shit that a person could do to them in real life, because habits make or break you, and if you don't have to watch out for certain things in your training, when someone does it to you in real life, you're going to be fucked.

If you take me down in a sport fight and you're in my guard, I can't heel stomp you in the kidneys/back(do you know how much this hurts? my god it's the worst pain ever), rake/gouge your eyes, reach down and crush your nuts, which are all of the things i'm insta-doing in a street fight if that were to happen. The sport fighters typically don't train to avoid these things because they don't have to worry about them in their sport.

Sport fighters also do really dumb shit in real life fights sometimes. One of my BJJ instructors got into a fight with his girl's ex, got him in an armbar, and the guy tapped out and said ok, you got me. When my friend let him go, the dude punched him in the face. Everyone at the gym was like, wtf dude??? BREAK HIS ARM.

You still need to be a good fighter and train to defend yourself, but they(sport vs real) are two relatively different things. Obviously a great MMA fighter is going to mop 99 percent of the population in a street fight, but if someone has a solid fighting background, but is also trained in real life CQC, the MMA person could be in a world of hurt.

This (oh yeah, and having a job) is the main reason I avoid altercations. Forget getting punched in the face -- you never know who will try to rip your TESTICLES out!! There's no coming back from that.
