Good update. Your ranking of my team without Rubio seems fair, if not generous.

Knight gonna fin ish around 1.1 and Collison 1.0 and barea gon lose minutes to fatton.

Yup...that's my story til at least the next rankings

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

how you gonna offer my reasoning for drafting them in the first fuckin place as an excuse to not apologize for being embarrassingly wrong?

i KNOW they gonna finish just above 1.0. it's collison and knight, genius.

you wrong on barea though...and klay beasting...and the black german gonna be over 1.0

bad as I thought in the first place. I was still right about nash and i think klay finishes below. 1.0. Was barea even one of your original guards?

lol you talking about schroeder too? lmao i'm talking about the guards you drafted, dude. And barea was a pickup as well.

LMAO @ being mad i got barea and the Black German. waiver wire, nigga. you know that thing i don't usually use and you party when my team falls apart? well, i'm using it now.

In response to Reply # 11

while getting guard play well above who those dudes really are. What happens when them niggas come back to earth. I'm not worried.

Will your guards be the worst I've ever seen (or whatever phrase i used)...no. So you want an apology for that..ok. I'm sorry basa. lol

Are your guards good? nah, i don't think so. So i was right about that...The only guard i pressed you about was nash and how many minutes and games you expected from him, which you wisely avoided. So i was right about that huh? I never put out numbers for knight/collison but i would have collectively assumed they'd slightly under 1.0. Now i think they'll be slightly above 1.0 when its all said and done. Do you want an apology for that too?

Again, no one is mad about your pickups. Any comments i made about your guards was about the ones you drafted obviously.

Whose typing up the video transcript? Smithers that falls under your job.

I'll paste the email I sent Auragin with the text transcripts from the draft when I get to my computer.

And i haven't seen any differences when i do pickups. The guy i pick up is always at the bottom of my roster.

35. "That part works (bottom of the roster) after pick up,"
In response to Reply # 22

what's changed is, if you move that guy to the middle of your roster and the guy you want to drop to the bottom and click 'save your lineup'...it doesn't save it where you want him to save and the guy you moved is back to where he was.

Your lineup is now frozen with the 13th guy (waiver pickup) stuck in the middle and whomever you had at the bottom moved back to where he was. In essence, your lineup stays the same, the new guy is placed in the middle of it (positionally appropriate) and now the last guy in your prior lineup is set to be cut at the deadline (instead of whom you tried to manually place at the bottom).

So you have to drop a guy to really adjust the roster otherwise the glitch in the system will fuck you over.

So:
G - Rondo
G - Curry
F - Melo
F - Parker
C - Noah
...
...
G - Holdover Scrub
...
CF - P. Gasol
G - Westbrook <--Claimed off waivers = #13 on roster.

you go to change the line up to look like this:
G - Rondo
G - Curry
F - Melo
F - Parker
C - Noah
...
...
G - Westbrook
...
CF - P. Gasol
G - Holdover Scrub

You click save expecting Holdover Scrub to fall off your roster but the glitch is...this happens instead.

G - Rondo
G - Curry
G - Westbrook
F - Melo
F - Parker
C - Noah
...
...
G - Holdover Scrub
...
CF - P. Gasol <--now in slot 13 and will be dropped at the deadline.

So you now HAVE to drop holdover scrub as the save feature won't do it for you correctly if you adjust the lineup.

Was gonna write more commentary and make it more of an article, but transcribing this shit takes forever....Enjoy.

The Survivor Draft is a time of fun and pandemonium.Hands down my favorite fantasy league here are some of the best text messages from the draft.

Apparently we really like movies...

Longo
"just got home from movie, walking my dog"
(next morning)
"best part of the trade I get to go to the movies this morning."
"He's at the movies. He's taking the six hours." (on Ba that evening)
"He (Ba) just got out. Should pick soon. Ceej just entered a movie tho. A long one."
"So Ceej is on a long movie?" - Me
Longo (instantly) "The judge. 2:20" Love how this fool knew the time instantly

"Whooooooops thought SOU was south Texas lmao." My bad (On telling me to text Robe at 5am)

Sat Oct 18 4:33
"So I just got out of the movie. Your last couple hours sounded fun" (referring to my botched queue favors pick. -

"IF FSU covers I win 1.2k. Too bad it wont happen." (earlier Saturday)
(about 2 hours later...)
"Ha. you picking now?" - Longo
"yep" - me
"What pick is this?"- Longo
"52" - me
"Fuck I'm at a club. Lemme Look" - Longo
"lol. dont worry man I'll just pick." - me
"Whoa hold up hold up now. Lol. What do you want?"
"and yea I suck. I'm drunk and pouting over FSU loss lol"

The thought of Frank awkward white guy dancing with dad jeans at the club while looking furiously at his phone cracks me up.

"My pick aint coming up in the next 15. Im gonna take my dog for a walk. Only telling you for some reason everyone picks in the next two minutes. lol."

"Lol im driving down Sunset right now. i cant set contingences right now."

"Surprised at some of the guards who went before Farmar, honestly."

Cenario
"this trade aint make no sense lol. Im not in love with Curry but I'll take him." -

Boogs getting his usua Eeyore routine on.

There was a great exchange when Boogs and I were negotiatin the trade but its too hard to transcribe.

"My 4th starter is gonna be like tayshaun prince lol"
"let's reverse teh trade lol"
"Ugh. This trade sucks."
"worst big 3 ever."

later...

"took Kyle completeing the worst big 3 ever assembled. Now I can ignore the draft for a few days.lol.
This was a dumb trade for me lol"
"lets reverse the trade! lol I want the picks you have."
"damn my team is gonna be shitty. Ill be lucky if I get a decent starting 5.

later...

"Why did I do this trade I hate you."

later...

"might be a good deal for Frank. He still picks 3 times more before I do lol. I got fleeced in that deal with you HAHAHHAHAHHA."

later...

"Why did I do this trade with you lol."
The more I look the dumber i was."

later...

"Ive already given up on this season."
"Youll get excoited again once you see whats available."
No I wont itll be shtty. Starting F Vince Carter. lol"

"Ugh this tarde was the worst idea ever. Def a better deal for you."

"Lol I might have the worst team in the league."

RBO
"at the fair bro. And just got 2 candied apples."

Matty.
"really lame dude."

"another year with no bones thrown my way brother." (referring to make taking Bogs trade and him never having a top 5 pick in 10 years lol)

"yure a scoundrel."

"fuckin lame man."

Beathustla
"gonna be ut for a couple of hours. Hit me up when its getting close to my turn so I can rush my daughter out of the mall.

or something ridic like that.

He's really just had to compete with good to great games from his entire schedule.

He will string together some wins soon though.

by the testiness of some, combined with the contriteness of others, there is a palpable fear that i might win this thing and offer the most epically shyt-talkitty rant ever, which i don't even wanna do.

i just wanna win one...then another and another. i plan to lead in OKS titles before i ever rant on how awesome i am at this. my only plan this year was to actually TRY to win the league and not pout because my ALL my draft picks weren't beastly as i thought or got injured. so, i'm working the wire like crazy and just trying hard. that's it.

and i'm also turning down garbage like this:

What you think about a bigger deal ?

i will not be initiating any further contact with you regarding kyrie irving.

name the team, GM and year. i'd love to know.

i usually take an injury hit or FOUR, so i wouldn't know.

having depth built from the wire is great...like when pau misses a game and scola gives me 45 in 30...lil JJ still chuggin wit dat 30 in 19.

the wire is WONDERFUL.

I think Franks mega team he just drafted really well. Jon Henson or Larry Sanders was his last pick paired with CP3 and he didnt have to go to the wire hard

It's about as much effort time wise.

But doing video is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun.

Having visuals and sound efx fluent (as opposed to links) just comes home much better for me.

And having Cenario help was definitely a bonus. That's why I'll be asking for league input this year. THINKING of good stuff is harder than illustrating it.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Im not trading jrue for that 1st guy and the other 2 guys you offering aren't of interest to me. I'm cool to stand pat with Gortat for now anyway.

he was scaring me earlier and i was panicking, but i'm straight now.

In response to Reply # 66
Tue Nov-18-14 02:56 PM by Basaglia

Okay, Wade's Knees have been on fire for 3 years, which means that everybody is waiting for it to hit rock bottom, so they can buy low. Which means that the people who own Wade's Knees contracts are saying, "Hey, we're losing all our damn minutes, AJ Price and Mo Williams are damn bums, and i'm too embarrassed to hit up Basa for one of his MANY GUARDS with the kung-fu grip! And the other owners quietly laughing at me because i partied so hard on his guards and now look at my shyt!" So they're panicking right now, they're screaming "SELL! SELL!" to get out before the price keeps dropping. They're panicking out there right now, I can feel it.

i been making trading places references since i was 10. i'm better at it than you and my team better than yours. and i KNOW you wanted barea AND SCOLA off the wire, because you PRESSED. well, guess who made it a MISSION to be MORE PRESSED this year? you mad.

In response to Reply # 79

He's barely at 1, my FC's are like 1.2 minimum. If he was on waivers now, I wouldnt pick him up. When he's on waivers in 2 weeks, I wont pick him up. When Barea goes back to being Barea, noone will bat an eye.

I do like Schroder though, was a little early on him last year. Either way, Dipo playing PG, Russy back soon, 4th/5th guards arent much of a concern.

And I'm sure you'll stay injury free with that squad all year.

this is how delusional y'all mad asses are...speights playing out of his mind, but that's static shyt, right? meanwhile, ALL my guards coming down and HALF my bigs.

cool. this kind of delusion and hubris is why my team was underrated to begin with and why i'm laughing now and you mad now. and i know you mad because you're actually engaging my taunts instead of your usual dismissive one-offs.

i'll be there at the end...and it makes you mad.

No, he's just proven to be useful in this. Unlike Scola and Barea. It's like you're getting it, but you still dont *get* it. Takes a little longer for some I suppose.

your team garbage, held together by unreasonable hope and two unc busts who'll both fold.

I will admit i was mad last night watching the 2nd half of the nets/bucks game like THIS NIGGA doing 1.25+ on basa squad??? how? probably was his worst game of the season.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

and I was the worst team in the division with a 257 avg which was higher than the last place team in any other division.

But i guess you could try to argue your division had more wins and a higher average average.

Well, that and LaVine had been doing near .5 and I needed to try SOMETHING.

Really until Rubio returns, I just need minutes, so most every one of my pickups is going to be a "hope and a prayer" move. There aren't really any guys who will get me anything resembling consistency, so I just have to go for the guys who seem unlikely to do numbers but will have a good opportunity... and cross my fingers they can sustain a decent FPPM for a month.

I was giving 20 minutes to Zach LaVine's .5 FPPM ass, sitting and hoping. You think I wouldn't have GLADLY upped 10 of those minutes by about three quarters of a point per? lol

Also, he'd be great when Rubio gets back.

Also, I'm just pissed cuz I dropped him literally the game before he started showing consistently good FPPM.

In response to Reply # 143

Whats crazy is how different Tyson looked a week ago when we first started talking. He caught fire. The things I worried about with him were regression obviously and his injury issues.

TJT did a good job of selling Wroten high off his wave of starting. Hes fallen a bit since MCW came back, but still been over 1 fppm 2 games and had the big one last night. Last season with MCW he wasnt good but hes actually cut back on his turnovers. theres lots of fantasy pts to go around in Philly If Tyson keeps this up for anothe r2-3 weeks, Well see some Monster Scores with Tyson/AD.

I still think Reggie Jackson (even with KD and Wessy back) will finish a better fppm guy than Wroten - especially when paired with Hill/Sloan - but I aint mad at this trade. Wroten has more upside even though you did demand a starting pg from me lol.

A week ago I was trying to decide if I wanted robin Lopez or Tyson more lol....

Ive watched a few mavs games and I do think ultimately your bigger concern is his usual injury.

The reason hes so good right now is Dallas literally has him rebounding for everyone

None of their other starters or players for that matter are plus rebounders.

Dirk has regressed as a rebounder, Chandler Parsons is average, Monta, and jameer suck. Every board dallas gets is his responsibilty.

and considering he was replacing brook lopez's broken foot, injury concern hasn't changed for me.

he goes back to being 1.2 and i'm good with it. i also suspect dalembert's about to be benched permanently with dat gnani coming back and Fisher obviously hating Dalembert (understandably).

i had hopes for Lopez, but he's rusty and talking about feeling slow. I couldn't wait on him anymore. I was only using 15 minutes of wroten (and once T-Jones is back, 0).

1) League leaders - if they have the best record, highest avg. Unless I win the deal. Not making your punk ass stronger. FOH.

2) Division rivals - Unless we both walk away from the deal kinda disappointed.

3) Cheat mode player owners - You got CP3/Bron/Minny version Love and now Brow...NOPE.

And if I'm avg 210 and in last place, I better be getting a GROSS return on any trade if I give up a decent asset. Otherwise I'd bust my ass to work waivers, explore lower tier trades and coaching to get better (like I did last year to get to the WCF).

look at the waivers this year. it's dry as a fucking bone. we legit have a league with 16 dudes going after waivers, making moves, drafting smart (ok, 14 who did that...). a whole lot of the crappy .ws players who normally get drafted didn't because people went for good .ws guys over good basic stats guys.

there were maybe 10 obvious waiver pick ups, maybe 5-10 more waiver pickups due to injury. it's a scrap heap right today. the league's too competitive now for the waiver to work out unless there's a big injury. but half of the time, the replacement is already rostered or is someone like Zach Lavine.

if i'm at the bottom, i'm trading with whomever will help me be better, regardless of record. i control my team. i almost made ernie an offer and he's my biggest rival in division but i couldn't figure out a reasonable offer. I had convo's with frank and he's one of the stronger teams in my conference.

the logic that there are teams u don't trade with is playing scared. shake shit up and make your team the best u can however u can.

Guys get better. Starters get hurt, guys get opportunities.

BKnight SUCKED to start last year but he caught FIYAH around Late Dec. I scooped his ass and he was MORE than serviceable for the rest of the year. Given my injuries, I shouldn't have even sniffed the playoffs, let alone the Conference Finals.

Plus, I'm sure if he waived Tyson around to the whole league as bait, he might have gotten something a lil more consistent than Wroten.

*Shoulder shrug*

But me, personally, I'd rather suck and let everyone bash is out than give the clear early front runner with the guy LEADING THE DAMN LEAGUE IN SCORING AND PUTTING UP DAMN NEAR 70 A GAME ON 1.7+ something that helps him.

Oh, you ain't averaging 300? Sorry, tough fucking titties. Deal with that damn 293! lol

It's not playing scared, it's playing SMART. You don't trade the 2010-2014 Miami Heat Deandre Jordan because Mike Miller and Norris Cole got hot for a few weeks. Fuck no.

You made a trade with Magilla...you do realize him and Celery are the reasons we HAVE trade rules right? hahahahahaha

You can't reason this from a position of power. "Don't play scared and be afraid to help my team with the highest avg! That's no fun!"

FOH

but it's dumb to limit your trade partners just because of how that other team is doing instead of, you know, whether or not the trade makes sense to you.

now, how that trade helps the other guy is a reasonable thing to consider in deciding to make that trade. i get that. but unilaterally limiting your trade options? DUMB.

one waiver wire scoop last year don't matter. and more than serviceable still didn't get him to 1.0 on the season. dude was .88 after the allstar break last year. GAMECHANGER. like i said, there's no one on the wires like that. you were 26-36 last season. bknight didn't do much for you.

now imagine you had that waiver wire scoop + another better player because you also made a trade. probably woulda been better than 26-36. man, you're cysing 26-36. i can't even.

look at the options on the waiver wire at G and tell me any of them make you think "man, i can wait for one of these guys to get better. cuz one will. I can feel it" and if you say you think there's one, I'll go ahead and laugh, cuz if you do, you should probably pick that dude up and drop tony allen's always .9-.95 FPPM ass.

>but it's dumb to limit your trade partners just because of
>how that other team is doing instead of, you know, whether or
>not the trade makes sense to you.

there are specific conditions under which I'd trade with people under certain circumstances. Which are just my preferences. A guy at the top of the league can afford to sacrifice more than someone at the bottom. So he'd naturally have to give me MORE to get a piece he wants. It'd be up to him to fill in the holes. You want a 1.4 C because yours are ass but you're putting up 293. Ok, I want a replacement C, A 1.1 G and a 1.1 F. I'll throw in filler to make the deal work. No? Ok, find some sucker then. Then I'd try other options. (there are 14 more)

>one waiver wire scoop last year don't matter. and more than

LOL...where the hell are you getting .88 from? He finished the year at 32fppg on .98 and he had some NICE games sprinkled in there. Given I lost Rose for the year, Tony Allen for like a month...he helped anchor my teams G core with Batum. Secondly, my team got buried EARLY in the year. Rose went down, I lost Horford for the year (my 1st and 2nd round picks) and Marc Gasol missed 20 games ALL IN DECEMBER. Knight helped me climb back into the race, make the playoffs, comeback on Ceej, Upset LABeat and make the conference finals. And I did it without trading the THEO who had the best record and avg.

We are 10 games in. He coulda waited it out. AND there are 14 more options. I didn't even know Chandler was on the block. Easiest way to find out what you can get for a guy is to advertise his availability.

I'm not saying it wasn't a legit trade. But "I" wouldn't have traded with you.

>My team got further than yours last year...explain.

but i'm not cysing my waiver wire pickups like you. i'm not proud of making the 2nd round of the playoffs. I'm proud of winning shit. otherwise, it wasn't special to me. also, the easy answer is you faced off against another shitty <.500 team in the first round and i had to face ernie's squad.ur conference sucked. that's why we realigned. goddam. it probably had something to do with injuries to my guards because look at the guards i ended up playing. damn they suck. i don't remember tho because i don't care about last year.

>We are 10 games in. He coulda waited it out. AND there are 14

he coulda, but he's 3-7 and wasting C minutes while playing shitty guards. when .98 BKnight is what's offered as the best of the alternative, the real question to me is why he didn't trade 5 games ago.

Kidding. he tried. I rejected the offer then because I was trying to be patient and waiver wire it and then realized that was dumb.

>more options. I didn't even know Chandler was on the block.
>Easiest way to find out what you can get for a guy is to

The Kobe trade. The Kaman trade. Every one of them improved my squad (even incrementally).

Wroten's going to improve my G rotation, and I still have two 30-40 ppg (1.1+ ppm) centers.

And you could have been in the running, but apparently everyone's got to come to you, and you don't know how inboxes work.

Too bad. . . . so mad.

I don't make the guy in the lead BETTER.

You're improving your team but not just for the sake of improving your team. It's to WIN the whole damn thing.

trading with the front runner, no matter how much better it makes you, only pushes you further out from winning because they are obviously trading with the intent to fill a void/get better. It's like chopping off your foot to run faster because it makes you lighter.

Never trade with the guy in front unless you manage to cripple them and strengthen you in some way. I negotiate evenly with most deals but I'm very keen to how the trade helps the other team. If I feel like it makes them too dangerous for me to compete with them after the trade, I won't do it without getting more pieces out of it.

Magilla can't compete with TJT's team right now even more so than before the trade.

Can't do it.

Not making a panic move with the guy in front that deep into the season. I'm exploring all alternatives before I get there and I'm still asking for more than I give up.

If my team is so bad I'm struggling for the 'offs, one move ain't gonna change the game for me, but it might for them.

I ain't handing over the crown for a consolation. Let him win on his own skill. I'll pack it up and try again next season.

Youve won twice cause you drafted well, picked up FAs, and had some luck.

Thats generally the formula for winning this thing. You need all 3 in varying degrees.

Liek Celery Id trade with anyone if I think it makes me better. I think Im smart enough that if I trade with TJT or whoever is in first - my trade is going to help me compete or surpass him.

I look at everyones Roster almost everyday and try to find a trade that makes sense. I dont even look at who it is.

Magilla cant compete but thats Magilla's fault.
It shouldnt be a blanket to why you shouldnt trade with the top team.

Like I said, you can trade with a title contender, just make sure you come out better in the deal.

Id trade with TJT right now if I thought I could get a good deal. Cause if my team improves and AD gets hurt on TJTs team, its an even more wide open race. i aint giving him shit, but if he has the position I need and needs the position I got, why not- and I can beat him in a deal, why not?

Magilla clearly didnt do that. So thats on him. i wouldnt make that mistake.

wait for someone to drop someone they shouldn't have dropped.

most years, there's a couple guys on waivers that i'm hoping i can drop someone for or make a 2 for 1 trade for because they're undervalued. Now, unless T-Rob starts magically getting minutes he doesn't deserve, there isn't anyone out there. that's kinda new. it's been happening more and more over the years, but we've reached a tipping point of sorts.

You got a guy like me who will hastily drop someone who gets hot -- it'll replenish.

Im trying tobe more patient this year. In past years Parsons woulda been off my team and back on 4 times already.

there will be another ONE in the next three weeks, sure. and maybe ONE more after another 2 weeks. and maybe another ONE the next month.

but then you'd have to:
1. Identify each of those
2. Not identify the busts who have a 2 game burst and then disappear
3. Have a team that was close enough to the playoffs to survive a month or two of being near the bottom

you can't build a team relying on that as a strategy. You do need to do that to keep a team afloat/go from good to great.

Not in a cheat way. But he clearly won the trade.

Even looking at this post is hilarious

You see ttj switch from the sheepish I don't know if I made the right decision but I gotta try something woe is I - jboogs we you're approach

And you see him slowly kaiser soze'ing out the limp into the smug " I pulled one over" ass we know he really is.

He dumped wroten high after a good game when wroten had been mediocre over the last 5.

Probably should've had to give up Bledsoe with anyone else who started slow but is trending up.

Like Beathustla said we just gave a guy whose scored 400 the hottest c in the league.

In response to Reply # 161

then peope started analyzing and i was worried because i expected a backlash and so i thought "what did i not consider?" while wondering if i should have waited on ceej/tried that approach a little longer.

then i realized what i didn't consider was "injury concerns" when i gave up on brook lopez (who should be a similarly 1.15ish C and i bet he ends up around there, so there's a chance this trade ends up being like me handing Wroten over for a small PPM improvement on my injury prone primary center). so i was back to thinking i won it bad.

also, i bet wroten stays 1.05-1.05ish. First, he still gets the ball in his hand a ton even with MCW on the court. Second, one of them isn't going to stay on the team all season i'd bet. thats a big jump for magilla.

i think i "won" the trade because i didn't have to lose much value or take much risk to get an improvement. but magilla's team is much better today than it was before the trade. this was an actual win/win trade. unless u think wroten's gonna crash and burn, but i don't. i just don't need a 4th good minutes quality guard like i did a 1st goddam center.

i'm mostly just pissed i didn't take hibbert like i was considering when i took dalembert. then i would still have wroten and a 300+ PPG average.

... it's obviously much easier to "win a trade" when your team is scoring 290ish and your trade partner is scoring 210ish. Teams with greater depth are in the position of power in a trade and can afford to ask for what they want. TJT can afford to continue without a center upgrade more than Magilla can afford to continue without a guard upgrade. When you add that Magilla's deepest position is center, it's easy to see how it played out the way it did.

I felt Wroten was trending down too, but he can be up and down (for what I remember of having him much of last season), so maybe Magilla simply feels he'll be more up, and that was the highest ceiling offer on his table. Can't fault him if that's the case, even if I think Chandler has more value than Wroten provides-- if no one was offering more value, and he likes Wroten's potential, and he can't afford to continue to go forward without another guard... no-brainer on his part, from that perspective.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

But it's pretty clear tjt won. At first I thought magilla came up more.

I'm biased but I think my package was better- but wroten has more upside I guess.

Jacksons been eating just fine. Hes been over 1fppm in 7/10 games. His #s are scekwed by 3 bad games. One was his very first game back.

In the 7 games hes over- he's 1.23fppm and he plays the most minutes in the NBA right now.

>parsons ain't .ws ready.

He was a wire pickup and my last fwd. All I need him to do is clean up loose minutes.
