And i haven't seen any differences when i do pickups. The guy i pick up is always at the bottom of my roster.

what's changed is, if you move that guy to the middle of your roster and the guy you want to drop to the bottom and click 'save your lineup'...it doesn't save it where you want him to save and the guy you moved is back to where he was.

Your lineup is now frozen with the 13th guy (waiver pickup) stuck in the middle and whomever you had at the bottom moved back to where he was. In essence, your lineup stays the same, the new guy is placed in the middle of it (positionally appropriate) and now the last guy in your prior lineup is set to be cut at the deadline (instead of whom you tried to manually place at the bottom).

So you have to drop a guy to really adjust the roster otherwise the glitch in the system will fuck you over.

Whats crazy is how different Tyson looked a week ago when we first started talking. He caught fire. The things I worried about with him were regression obviously and his injury issues.

TJT did a good job of selling Wroten high off his wave of starting. Hes fallen a bit since MCW came back, but still been over 1 fppm 2 games and had the big one last night. Last season with MCW he wasnt good but hes actually cut back on his turnovers. theres lots of fantasy pts to go around in Philly If Tyson keeps this up for anothe r2-3 weeks, Well see some Monster Scores with Tyson/AD.

I still think Reggie Jackson (even with KD and Wessy back) will finish a better fppm guy than Wroten - especially when paired with Hill/Sloan - but I aint mad at this trade. Wroten has more upside even though you did demand a starting pg from me lol.

Decent sell high trade on Chandler.

A week ago I was trying to decide if I wanted robin Lopez or Tyson more lol....

Ive watched a few mavs games and I do think ultimately your bigger concern is his usual injury.

The reason hes so good right now is Dallas literally has him rebounding for everyone

None of their other starters or players for that matter are plus rebounders.


Dirk has regressed as a rebounder, Chandler Parsons is average, Monta, and jameer suck. Every board dallas gets is his responsibilty.

and considering he was replacing brook lopez's broken foot, injury concern hasn't changed for me.

he goes back to being 1.2 and i'm good with it. i also suspect dalembert's about to be benched permanently with dat gnani coming back and Fisher obviously hating Dalembert (understandably).

i had hopes for Lopez, but he's rusty and talking about feeling slow. I couldn't wait on him anymore. I was only using 15 minutes of wroten (and once T-Jones is back, 0).

look at the waivers this year. it's dry as a fucking bone. we legit have a league with 16 dudes going after waivers, making moves, drafting smart (ok, 14 who did that...). a whole lot of the crappy .ws players who normally get drafted didn't because people went for good .ws guys over good basic stats guys.

there were maybe 10 obvious waiver pick ups, maybe 5-10 more waiver pickups due to injury. it's a scrap heap right today. the league's too competitive now for the waiver to work out unless there's a big injury. but half of the time, the replacement is already rostered or is someone like Zach Lavine.

if i'm at the bottom, i'm trading with whomever will help me be better, regardless of record. i control my team. i almost made ernie an offer and he's my biggest rival in division but i couldn't figure out a reasonable offer. I had convo's with frank and he's one of the stronger teams in my conference.

the logic that there are teams u don't trade with is playing scared. shake shit up and make your team the best u can however u can.

BKnight SUCKED to start last year but he caught FIYAH around Late Dec. I scooped his ass and he was MORE than serviceable for the rest of the year. Given my injuries, I shouldn't have even sniffed the playoffs, let alone the Conference Finals.

Plus, I'm sure if he waived Tyson around to the whole league as bait, he might have gotten something a lil more consistent than Wroten.

there are specific conditions under which I'd trade with people under certain circumstances. Which are just my preferences. A guy at the top of the league can afford to sacrifice more than someone at the bottom. So he'd naturally have to give me MORE to get a piece he wants. It'd be up to him to fill in the holes. You want a 1.4 C because yours are ass but you're putting up 293. Ok, I want a replacement C, A 1.1 G and a 1.1 F. I'll throw in filler to make the deal work. No? Ok, find some sucker then. Then I'd try other options. (there are 14 more)

LOL...where the hell are you getting .88 from? He finished the year at 32fppg on .98 and he had some NICE games sprinkled in there. Given I lost Rose for the year, Tony Allen for like a month...he helped anchor my teams G core with Batum. Secondly, my team got buried EARLY in the year. Rose went down, I lost Horford for the year (my 1st and 2nd round picks) and Marc Gasol missed 20 games ALL IN DECEMBER. Knight helped me climb back into the race, make the playoffs, comeback on Ceej, Upset LABeat and make the conference finals. And I did it without trading the THEO who had the best record and avg.

trading with the front runner, no matter how much better it makes you, only pushes you further out from winning because they are obviously trading with the intent to fill a void/get better. It's like chopping off your foot to run faster because it makes you lighter.

Never trade with the guy in front unless you manage to cripple them and strengthen you in some way. I negotiate evenly with most deals but I'm very keen to how the trade helps the other team. If I feel like it makes them too dangerous for me to compete with them after the trade, I won't do it without getting more pieces out of it.

Magilla can't compete with TJT's team right now even more so than before the trade.

Liek Celery Id trade with anyone if I think it makes me better. I think Im smart enough that if I trade with TJT or whoever is in first - my trade is going to help me compete or surpass him.

I look at everyones Roster almost everyday and try to find a trade that makes sense. I dont even look at who it is.

Magilla cant compete but thats Magilla's fault.
It shouldnt be a blanket to why you shouldnt trade with the top team.

Like I said, you can trade with a title contender, just make sure you come out better in the deal.

Im trying tobe more patient this year. In past years Parsons woulda been off my team and back on 4 times already.

there will be another ONE in the next three weeks, sure. and maybe ONE more after another 2 weeks. and maybe another ONE the next month.

but then you'd have to:
1. Identify each of those
2. Not identify the busts who have a 2 game burst and then disappear
3. Have a team that was close enough to the playoffs to survive a month or two of being near the bottom

you can't build a team relying on that as a strategy. You do need to do that to keep a team afloat/go from good to great.

then peope started analyzing and i was worried because i expected a backlash and so i thought "what did i not consider?" while wondering if i should have waited on ceej/tried that approach a little longer.

then i realized what i didn't consider was "injury concerns" when i gave up on brook lopez (who should be a similarly 1.15ish C and i bet he ends up around there, so there's a chance this trade ends up being like me handing Wroten over for a small PPM improvement on my injury prone primary center). so i was back to thinking i won it bad.

also, i bet wroten stays 1.05-1.05ish. First, he still gets the ball in his hand a ton even with MCW on the court. Second, one of them isn't going to stay on the team all season i'd bet. thats a big jump for magilla.

i think i "won" the trade because i didn't have to lose much value or take much risk to get an improvement. but magilla's team is much better today than it was before the trade. this was an actual win/win trade. unless u think wroten's gonna crash and burn, but i don't. i just don't need a 4th good minutes quality guard like i did a 1st goddam center.

i'm mostly just pissed i didn't take hibbert like i was considering when i took dalembert. then i would still have wroten and a 300+ PPG average.

... it's obviously much easier to "win a trade" when your team is scoring 290ish and your trade partner is scoring 210ish. Teams with greater depth are in the position of power in a trade and can afford to ask for what they want. TJT can afford to continue without a center upgrade more than Magilla can afford to continue without a guard upgrade. When you add that Magilla's deepest position is center, it's easy to see how it played out the way it did.

I felt Wroten was trending down too, but he can be up and down (for what I remember of having him much of last season), so maybe Magilla simply feels he'll be more up, and that was the highest ceiling offer on his table. Can't fault him if that's the case, even if I think Chandler has more value than Wroten provides-- if no one was offering more value, and he likes Wroten's potential, and he can't afford to continue to go forward without another guard... no-brainer on his part, from that perspective.

But it's pretty clear tjt won. At first I thought magilla came up more.

I'm biased but I think my package was better- but wroten has more upside I guess.

Jacksons been eating just fine. Hes been over 1fppm in 7/10 games. His #s are scekwed by 3 bad games. One was his very first game back.

In the 7 games hes over- he's 1.23fppm and he plays the most minutes in the NBA right now.

also, that offer isn't "better." Sloan is .95 FFS and will be getting benched, Hill is an injured guy who has never been good in ws. Jackson's role once westbrook (nevermind Durant) is back is TBD. We know Wroten's getting 25-30 minutes at minimum w/ the ball in his hands most of that time. I can easily make the Wroten over Jackson argument. u might not agree, but it's not far.

Lopez is far more useful a piece than sloan/hill. FOH. better? nah. similar? yes.

Case in point, people think im trolling with Donald Sloan, but when I first tried to trade him he was right above 1fppm.

Ive explicitly said to people I dont think hes a good basketball player but Ive watched indiana games in the preseason and early season and theres an opportunity for him to be a solid .ws player which he is so far.

Indiana's guards have been getting all they want of the ball and they are free to score, and pass as they please. Their usage rate is way above the past years.

George Hill is a better player than Donald Sloan and will get thise same opportunities if and when he gets back. He was crushing the preseason and I was hoping to have him play early - but now who knows when he'll be back.

I thoink both Sloan will be fine as the season progresses but I got Kyrie, MCW, adn Reggie-- no minutes.

I can wait for Hills value to come up but i already lost on a few free agents because Im holding those 2 roster spots so Ive been shopping them to see what i can get + a roster spot - (which looking at our all drop all stars is a great way to add on to a team).

From Watching reggie this season you see how good he is. He is a dog, too.
If they keep him as 6th man, I think he can be a great bench guard because his ability to do it all. All this talk about history will happen Im sure. But we started to see him come of age in last years playoffs and the start of this season. Putting up these numbers while playing the most minutes in the league.

However, If he starts with KD and Wessy like he wants to his value plummets. Just not enough basketball to go around.

That said, if KD or Wessy end up staying out longer than usual - or if one of them gets reinjured which isnt completely out of the question -- Reggie is going to a beast with either one of them alone.

Theres still a chance OKC trades him if they dont wanna pay him.

He has a great role in that efficient offense. But nobody is gonna pay basa's asking price even if he stays at 1.4.

He wants to buy low on a top 30 guard like kyrie or mcw. Probably guys like Bledsoe from other teams. People would rather keep the potential of a lead guard whose gonna play 30+ minutes than barea right now.

Historically in the league nobody trades a lead guard for a guy like barea.

The type of guy you can get is a super efficient center or F in return if you have too many guards.

i don't think ive ever seen a guard average 1.3+ in less than <20mpg.

I could be wrong. You see super efficiency like that with big men but not guards.

scola is bottom of the rotation on MY team...i look around and he'd get plenty of minutes on a lotta teams.

and barea is older and wiser and tasked with doing very specific things for that team. he not running around like a lil gnat as much as he used to. his TOs are low and he gets people the ball in good spots.

I dont think we need veto, but I do think Ab's "star player" guideline should carry over from the previous season. Up until 20 games or something.

There will always be bad trades/traders. Especially if it's an experienced manager, i'm more likley to say let it slide. My only other concern is some sort of collusion which is a rare instance.

While hard to prove if anyone ever gets caught colluding i.e. ill trade you player x in this league if you make a trade with me in another league. That should be grounds for automatic removal.


Likewise for trades where guys agree to split a pot.

Drummond was a tad bit below MSR which is the ONLY thing stopping me from vetoing this bitch but I think I might be inclined to put it up for vote since it didn't meet the offset exchange anyway (See rule below).

Shawn trades:
G - Reggie Jackson (OKL) (1.14 FPPM in 39.3 MPG)
C - Enes Kanter (UTA) (0.93 FPPM in 23.6 MPG)

Matinho trades
C - Andre Drummond (DET) (1.17 FPPM in 28.3 MPG)


Trade Rule:
When trading for STAR players (Defined as guys who, avg at minimum 35+ FPPG, 30+ MPG, and 1.2 FPPM…this is the NEW MSR) a player of at least those minimums must be included the other way in the deal. This also includes Multi player deals. (hot players ruling remains the same...league will vote if stats are off but a guy has been hot for 10-20 games)

-Multi player deals must have an offset of stats (meaning a discrepancy in FPPG must be met the opposite way with a discrepancy in FPPM) and no deal should be outside of 30FPPG or .15 Avg FPPM

-Trades on edge of MSR can be brought up for vote, 5 yay or nay, and if not enough votes, trade passes.

Given Drummond was a first rounder with historical 1.2 numbers (and is practically at 30 mpg) AND that they were off on the FPPG offset, this is kinda BS IMO...ESPECIALLY given Drummond wasn't shopped.

We expect GM's to make sound moves which is why we relaxed on the trade rules some with enough experienced guys here but making hasty moves without doing due diligence given a lack of time to pay attention is NOT A GOOD EXCUSE TO MAKE A DEAL! 10 games into the season, wait until you DO have the time to shop him.

See this is the dumb shit I'm talking about. Shawn gave up a 3rd-4th tier C and a reserve eating off a injuries to two STAR players (who's numbers have already dipped drastically with ONE of those guys back) for a first rounder with 1.20/30mpg potential/normalcy (last 5 he's at 45.4 FPPG/1.33FPPM/34MPG). Sully and MCW shoulda been the deal (two starters, one with MSR numbers) and Mat shoulda had to include another player.

I'm gonna take the night and think about it.
