The game is casually gorgeous to me. I hate that the 'walking through the place' pre-fight thing isn't part of the ranked fights. I love the music. I love the characters all having their own little cool parts of the intro. And don't start me on when the 2 characters have specific interactions. I'm a sucker for all of that stuff.
World Tour is whatever...I tried to bother with it at first but now I hop on, do way too little labbing, then I jump into ranked to see if I can find a few decent fights in ranked. It is fine for what it is but it is a slog. You CAN create some impressively broken fighters if you use your mind in the dirtiest way possible while doing the creation.
Netcode is mostly good. They DO need to do something about people disconnecting right before they lose. It happens far too often and no game should let that slide in this day and age. Unless I'm doing something wrong, you can't easily go in and block them after they disconnect on you.
Other notes:
Yes, offense and shenanigan setups are big business on this game. If you don't like that in your fighting games, SF6 will drive you crazy...especially as you're getting started. And it is basically the whole cast who can mow you down like nobody's business if you don't know the setups. You can't just sit back and try to block or you're very dead. Even the typical Guile 'hide and sonic boom' tomfoolery has to be escalated or that style isn't really gonna work for long.
Sad as it is, I enjoy fighting Dhalsim a lot. Its shady bullcrap pretty much the whole time but a decent Dhalsim forces me to fight to get in and I feel really good IF I finally do.
I'm more accustomed to Dee Jay but still...no luv for him and his shenanigans. Also, I'm not so in love with fighting against Ken and Ryu makes me hate the game all the way around, but that's normal for me on every game.
>what do y'all think about: > >• drive gauge >• game balance >• your main >• presentation >• world tour mode >• netcode > >still haven't picked this up. still waiting for a character >that grabs me. a.k.i. could be interesting. maybe kolin >comes back and i get pulled in. watching online tourneys here >and there. i see folks blowing through their drive gauge >without any fear of burnout state, and not even on combos that >kill. is there less neutral compared to previous games? >seems like drive gauge cancels embolden players and rushdown >is the order of the day after some flirty footsies
