Right there with you. Last month I copped 6s, wolf grey 3 and Bo Jacksons. I'm getting Jordan Futures for Christmas, and I'll probably get one more color of em. I haven't been like this since '05 smh. Also, I had no idea Js were this hard to cop nowadays, smh.

6 and 11s are my favorite as well. XX9s are dope. My girl wanted to get me that for Christmas but I wanted the Futures. I don't really hoop anymore and XX9's seemed more like performance shoes.

I have trimmed my Jorn collection considerably but still have quite a few, obviously. I have to admit I liked the XX8 and XX9, oddly those performance type Js appeal to me more than the overdone "classics," some of which I didn't like to begin with.

But I can't stop picking up vintage 90s stuff, LeBron IX and X Elites (I buy a lot of ID pairs), Kobe 9 Elites (highs only but I bought the MJ lows), etc.

Recently I have been playing basketball every day and also running some stairs. I have to say that for performance I think Mizuno has the best runners still but Under Armour has the best shit for bball and cross-training right now. There are so many cheap UAs out there, I've been experimenting with those. Bought about two dozen pairs recently. Clutchfit Highlight Trainer and the Spine Bionic are my two favorites. I like the Steph Curry Clutchfit Drives, too. Just great kicks, they aren't really position specific, they're all minimal weight without being flimsy, the 4D foam really lasts in terms of comfort and they are cheap enough to beat the crap out of.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

they also make amazing soccer shoes. their cleats are top notch.

Ok so its not weird that i like the XX9, cause i felt weird about that.
i also really like the M10's. If i played ball at all these days id probably be getting a pair of the melo's that are always on sale somewhere.

we've discussed this before but you know i love the lebron 8-10's. I only have the green 10 elites. i really wont pay > retail on my shoes right now except the one or two jordan releases. maybe if i get this promotion next year ill go snag the lebrons i got my eye on.

>they also make amazing soccer shoes. their cleats are top

yeah they make great golf clubs, too, just a cool company with a nice niche. i was hoping their running shoes would blow up but i think they have stalled a little after making a lot of progress. i think they have some great series though like the ultima, the enigma and the nirvana. as gimmicky shoes go, the prophecy is cool and now they are affordable (i see them as low as $70 now).

>Ok so its not weird that i like the XX9, cause i felt weird
>about that.
>i also really like the M10's. If i played ball at all these

i thought the M10 would be cool because i liked the xx8 and to a lesser extent the xx8 SE but i thought they were disappointing. lots of touches that made them worse than those other nearly identical models (same sole). the heel counter was a minus for me and i felt like they were *slightly* narrower but i really felt it because if that weird little nub under the lateral side of those soles (it goes away after one or two wears with the other models). i also thought the uppers were crappier, they looked cool but wrinkled and wore worse. i would get the XX8 SE or just a regular pair of XX8s is even better.

>we've discussed this before but you know i love the lebron
>8-10's. I only have the green 10 elites. i really wont pay >

>the lebrons i got my eye on.

yeah i saw the green 10 elites at a nike outlet for 110 the other day almost picked up another pair. i thought the crimson ones were the best, the toe material was slightly different than the other models and it made a big difference. incredible fit, my favorite single lebron ever. i got several ID pairs, a Clippers pair I wore yesterday, a funky bright orange pair, a white/teal/pink pair i havent wore yet, some black/red ones, etc. i am in the market for more.

i loved the lebron 11 but the 11 elite was trash. the lining was a cool idea but the hyperposite material and overall makeup left a lot to be desired. i got some lebron 12s but like the 11 elite they were annoyingly narrow near the ball of the foot and so i returned them. i also tried the running shoes with the same zoom setup. it has potential but i think reebok's podular cushioning systems are much better, as is mizuno's infinity wave plate or whatever that's called on the prophecy.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

i have a sz 11 pair here i think i paid 130 or so for it.

i liked the X but it feels kind of loose-fitting compared to the elite version. i got those, the bhm ones and an ID pair but only wore the ID pair and even that sparingly.

i see the regular xx8s around 150 often now. they have the joker ones at some nike outlets for 200 but i see them for less on ebay. i liked the elephant print ones, the why nots (which are a little more expensive) and some of the camo ones, i guess. the leather ones looked cool but were extremely impractical (hot, zipper did not work, etc).

the xx8 SE i have gotten for as low as $60. same shoe but doesn't breath as well and isn't quite as flexible. on the upside, there is no weird sleeve/shroud thing on them.

the xx9 is a little different. they took the zoom out of the heel which is disappointing but the new flight plate is sick. the upper is the real highlight, best woven/knit upper they have ever made and it's not even close. way better than the kobe elites, for example.

i still say if you wanna ball in some shit, under armour spine bionic or clutchfit drive. eager to see the new currys, which seem to have a thicker sole like the spine with the same upper/outsole as the drive. both great shoes for any position that stay comfortable for hours of action. clutchfit highlight TR is like that, too, you can even hoop in them though they arent made for that.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

other than the KD V Elite, they might be my favorite shoe to hoop in. they do no wrong imo -- note, I have narrow feet.

the kd 5 elite feel weird to me, but i could see how a B width cat would love them. melos i wore twice and dumped, just an inferior version of other shoes IMO (some of which cost less)

I've always heard they were good performance shoes, but I didn't have the evidence because I don't really wear Js, and I'd never copped any of the other releases.

I'd heard how good the superfly2 was, but I hadn't actually worn it.

In response to Reply # 31

They can't seem to get them to take off but I think the CP3 line has been really good from the jump. It has a clear identity and each model has been fast without being flimsy.

The Wade stuff had great fit and traction, good cushioning setups, too. I guess the problem is that neither line has provided much to look at, though a couple of the CP3 models have been attractive IMHO.

Superfly 2 is really good, the first Superfly was good too but they took a while to break in. The second ones were good right out of the box and the Flight Plate was a huge addition. I haven't tried the new ones yet.

they have made it to some rosses for $53 and outlets for $60-$90. i got the all-star ones for $60 each off nike.com

i like the yellow ones, those are kinda hot but loud for sure. i got the hyperdunk 2014 in that color. i dig those, very soft and springy, good traction.

hyperdunk 2013s are making the rounds cheap. $50 on eBay for a lot of mens colors. i seen the womens ones (including some big ones a man could wear) for $33 at ross.

What a fucking tease! Looked like it would be two hot ass shoes, the Carolina/white XIs and those big Jumpman Russy home PEs. No! They have the weak ass cement color blocking! I mean that is fine for $100 at the outlet, but not a $500 pack or whatever.

I admit that the black cement pair looks better on the foot than on the shelf, but NO QUESTION the big Jumpman is a much, much cleaner design

like look at the first two releases, the black/red and black/orange. black/red had the cement or elephant print blocking, where there were little sections of the upper, elephant print, a small jumpman logo at the side and rear panels with "jordan" and "23" on them that looked kind of swap meet-ish.

the black/orange was what all the nba guys wear, solid color upper with a BIG ass jumpman on it.

i thought the white/blue ones russy wore at home a lot were going to be in the pack, but instead it's a white/blue one with the elephant print and a clear sole. just not worth it to me. the 11s are sick though.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

while the blocking makes it look like there are sort of compartments to the elephant print uppers, there are not. they are both woven, one-piece uppers with no overlay material or anything. the red piping is just paint, not extra material.

so in terms of feel and performance, they are identical. it's just an aesthetic thing, different color and pattern blocking, different size logos, etc.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

i didnt get the mids but i did get the EM low, Elite low and Elite high. they all have the same sole but they all feel different. the EM version has a much quicker heel-to-toe motion than the other models. i found the Elite kow to be much slower and stiffer. the highs are in between the two in those terms, but it feels softer all-around for some reason. i also like the additional height, although like a lot of these shoes (think Under Armour Charge BB, Huaraches, etc), a lot of the height is just for show.

i kind of like the sixth meridian ones or whatever and the dunk force but not that much. so far colorways are disappointing. ID pair would be cool.

you wont have any trouble but i think they are another hoops offering that is too narrow in a critical spot. overall the last is on the wide side though, dunno if that will suit you.

the differently tuned zoom air units are OK, better suited for a running shoe though. i will take the now nearly 20-year-old DMX 10 technology over it any day. reebok has some cool updates on that, the DMX Sky and ZJet. i wish they would make hoops offerings with both.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

They piss on the quality with the "real" releases. Plus they are slapping all sorts of Air Max 2006/2009/2013 soles on EVERY fuckin Air Max ever but can't put a damn Flight Plate on some AJ VI, XI or some shit? Fuck that. Update them slightly and make them better performing shoes. And hell yeah some IDs! I guess they did some sort of Jordan I ID but who the fuck cares? Almost as lame as the AJ 2012 ID.

Some XIII IDs? OMG I'd buy 20 pairs.

air max deluxe was my shit back in the day, i think i had every color that came out. the upper made such a huge difference.

the 97 sole they use now sucks though, compared a pair to my OG gold ones, pfft, so much thinner and harder. i dont get why they insist on bammerizing air units on retros. what part of the game is that? ruined the fuck out of the griffey and uptempo lines with that, too.

Use that same material, fine, but a color that blends better with the rest of the shoe.

This is a problem with many of the Lunargrand releases and an increasing number of bball shoes. Nike insists on a white or clear sole, on so many shoes where it just doesnt fit.

I dont have much trouble getting whatever release I want but overall I just see too many people with the same shit. Is there really a "heat factor" to Js anymore? Every old man in a velour jumpsuit and Asian housewife has six pairs.

I also like to take advantage of all the awesome performance stuff out there. Outside of a few models, I never thought Js were comfortable, really.

I'm almost as bored with Air Maxes, especially the older stuff which they keep fucking with the specs on. I loved the Air Burst but these little bubbles ain't cuttin it. I did fuck with the Flyknit Max, whoa, very comfortable.

I only got one KD 7, an ID pair in green/black/red/yellow ... it says "4" on the right shoe and "20" on the left shoe with the words "LEGALIZE" and "IT" on the inside of each tongue.

I paid retail for the black/orange but got a good deal ($150) on the black/red. They look better on foot than in the store and the forefoot is just incredible. I would have liked Zoom in the heel but it's not a bad setup as it is. They take the flight plate/unlocked zoom shit to a new level and the woven material on the upper is WAY nicer than any of the flyknit or engineered mesh joint.

I bought a good number of Xs and XIs but mainly ID X Elites and XIs with some of the GR ones mixed in (Black History shit was fresh, Miami Nights). But so many of them (anything with that peach color, volt, teal, etc) were just throwaway colorways. Why even bother? That's how I feel about almost all the XII that have come out. I liked the Dunk Force and Sixth Meridian OK, I guess but overall they have been shit. Data is OK but that color scheme is WAY overdone.

Clean, crisp colorways still pop. I don't get all the experimentation with what are essentially proprietary colors.

The red Kobes coulda been hot but they ruined them with that weird ass midsole/sole. Look like some reject Nike ID shit you'd find at an outlet.

The KD is inoffensive, I guess, these Brons are trash.

What-the series is so subdued, so much white and dull tones in them. Really not the bold mash-ups we have seen when they were actually a limited thing worth collecting.

You can find them super cheap, like $25-$30 at Foot Locker, Marshall's, Nordstrom Rack, etc. I have gone to them for basketball ALL the time now, stopped wearing Nikes altogether as I've been playing more lately and finding I can't just wear shit because I feel like it. It has to work for me and I think the Under Armour stuff to be very thoughtfully engineered and versatile. Almost all their models will work for any position and have lasting cushioning as well as great fit.

The Spine system is probably my favorite technology on the market and in terms of uppers the ClutchFit shit is a game-changer. They haven't made a hoops shoe with both yet but I am sure they will soon.

So far the best ones I have tried are the Spine Bionic/Spine Predator (very similar, just a matter of preference of how you like the upppers), the Micro G Juke 2 and the ClutchFit Drive. I also think the Clutchfit Highlight is a great shoe, you could wear it for hoops also (outsole is not ideal though). The Anatomix Spawn was also a good shoe, but personally I like the Juke 2 better. Even their cheap stuff like the Jet series is well made, nice heel-toe motion and holds up well outdoors.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I don't think I would ball in anything else but UA's at this point.
I was able to snag a pair at footlocker for like $40 when I needed shoes for a league.
Even if they were the same price as Hyperdunks or any nike shoe Id still prefer UA's.
I think I might switch to the Clutchfits for my next league

In response to Reply # 72

if you really liked the cushioning setup, then get the juke 2. same deal but with more support (both in terms of the tooling and the ankle) and most of a custom fit. they arent clutchfit, but they do have the compfit technology (sort of the forerunner to clutchfit).

if you liked the fuse uppers and how they fit, then i would go with the spine bionic. they are stronger and hold up better to outdoor play, the spine system is a beast and the outsole is tougher (more traditional, herringbone outsole). the micro g foam is not as abundant but it's full-length, very soft and works well with the spine chassis.

the clutch fit is a firmer shoe than all the ones discussed here and it's a little lower to the ground, i feel like. great lockdown/fit, tat is the big advantage. the curry 1 (not out yet) is going to be a clutchfit with a softer, thicker midsole from the looks of it. you're also looking at $100 or more for these, whereas the others can be had for $25-$50 generally.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

two things that they need to figure out are how to make their shoes a little more aesthetically appealing and also how to balance their current emphasis on minimal weight with some shoes that emphasize support a little better.

81. "Mizuno Wave Paradox, New Balances, Brooks Dyad, Asics Gel Evolution"
In response to Reply # 76
Mon Dec-22-14 08:59 PM by ConcreteCharlie

New Balances are the best for sure, they go up to 4E in most and 6E in some models. I thought the 1010 series was great and can be found for cheap. 1220 series also. 1906 and 2002 were great, I think both went to 6E and for sure 4E. I have not been as into their recent stuff, too many shifts in their stuff for me to keep track of and all of it is boring aesthetically. Some of the boutique stuff is cool looking but it's all overpriced and mostly outdated.

Mizuno Wave Paradox runs wide and may come in an even wider 2E, I forget. Most Mizunos don't run in widths (Wave Rider and Aspire, not sure about any others and even those are 2E).

Brooks has a series called the Dyad that runs up to 4E at least. They are also engineered to better accommodate orthotics and inserts. I had the fourth edition of the shoe, really nice shoe. The Beast is also a classic for wide footers. The Ariel is the womens version (which also runs up to 2E at least and often winds up being cheaper).

Under Armour makes tactical boots up to 4E and they are pretty sneaker-y.

Asics makes some 2E stuff but I find much it runs narrow to begin with. One Asics Model I would recommend very highly that comes in 4E and I believe 6E also is the Gel Evolution 6. Rare shoe with serious support/motion control that is also very soft. Honestly it might be the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

In response to Reply # 83

nike is a zero, i do recall them making the equalon series in 4E and but now any motion control stuff seems like a specialty item for them and even cushioned support doesn't have much (structure series, i guess). one of the best wide-cut nikes was the air zoom equilibrium. i have a couple pairs and they hold up decent over time, though like most multi-piece soles the pieces with the lugs can fall off. they are a 17 year old shoe now.

adidas has a handful of 2E releases but nothing i would consider buying. honestly i think their brand has a pretty wayward identity in general, but it doesn't matter because they don't make much of anything in the width you need.

reebok i think only makes walking shoes in widths.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
