...although they sure enjoyed playing "the sacrifice of victor" minute concert video back in 1993 unannounced a few times (as did b.e.t. & muchmusic.)
>The side of Prince fans who like Emancipation/NPS/RAVE!
there were a few good songs off of those albums, just incomplete... it's the shit that surrounded it that brought the rest of it down.
>Ive heard comments like "this is too jazzy" hahaha
those people can seriously fuck off.
>I heard that people have commented "Prince Hoochies" lets say that they dont like it because its "too weird"
those too.
>The big plus about this record is it might exterminate alot >people who want him to follow trends and do the hip hop r &B template
thank god. that's what's been wrong with his music for too long.
>But predict how it will sell....
it'll do "emancipation" numbers. it might go gold, depending on how many television/award shows he goes on. unless he does a video that is directed by someone else, and doesn't pick something that won't sell, he won't be played on mtv either. not that that's a bad thing. he's already made money off of the npgmc fools, and by his fanbase that buys every album he puts out.
>Will this outsell Rave?>
easily... especially when the reviews come out. the question is how many people will give him a chance? there have been others recently who have been given a 2nd chance by the music buying public. steely dan, bonnie raitt, and santana to name a few... he just needs to put aside his conflict with wbr and move on. otherwise he just looks like a whiner to his fans, or worse still a michael jackson-like flake/freak to the public, rather than the musical genius he deserves to be recognized as.
>Will Redline have a hit record?
depends.
>When the interviews start hitting it is gonna be interested what Prince says expectation wise.
i wish he'd be quiet.
>I do hope the reviewers who said he couldnt bring it around admit he did bring it around.
i don't think folks have a problem with admitting they were wrong.
>But that wouldnt be like a critic for a magazine would it?
sure it would. i could totally see someone like kurt loder saying that he's back. i mean, those clips from "props n pounds" were not from the last 10 years, let's get real.
>Anyways extreme humor is when people dog this record who want "the old prince" of late 90s IM not kidding
those people need to be shot.
>And to be honest this record didnt have that sterile polish sound either that Emancipation,NPS,RAVE had.
true... though as i said before, there is some stuff on EMAN that is great, and "wasted kisses" isn't bad...
>It was mixed differently and it has dirty bass and funked up vibrant guitars and amazing drums.
it's about time.
>I think this is proof Prince reads message boards because Prince fans have said for "6 years" >ever since Gold Experience that they wanted the live sound back but something Experimental and >Prince finally found a band unit that he wanted to record.
let's hope so. let's also hope that they stay together for the full 5 years his bands usually stay together. that way we can get perhaps 5 good albums out of him before he gets bored and tries to top whatever puffy/timbaland/the neptunes are doing in 2007. yeah, maybe they won't be around. but if they are, or whoever is at that time, prince should never have to do that. you don't see other artists doing that. stevie never did that. michael's never done that. meshell's never done that. who knows why prince feels the need to... it's why his music has been so inconsistant over the last 12 years.
>Anyways I have always believed Prince would stop trying to follow >trends and blast a path forth again in a experimental return I just >didnt know when.
so have i. it's not easy being a fan of his. from fucking over his fans, to the neverending whining about wbr, it's nice to finally have something to smile about (other than seeing the prices that pieces of my prince collection are selling for on ebay by those that have given up on him...)
>Remember we were misled many times "The DAWN" album "ROADGARDEN"
yeah, i never once bought into those lies.
>I think the most obvious step would to do a live box set maybe of all the tour shows?
he should seriously talk to the pearl jam about this. (or follow what columbia has done with miles' work.)
>Man he owes the musicclub new files next month.
he does, but he'll never follow through with his good shit. he's stupid, but not that stupid.
>After an album like this I dont know what he will do next.
he'll go on a "medley/speech" tour, because he doesn't have anyone around him to help him make better decisions. he can't play "rainbow children" at arenas.
people want full versions of his hit songs. it's annoying. if he was smart, he'd go back to before 1980 and do a club tour similar to the one he did when people were first getting into him. let people know up front that they aren't going to hear purple rain or 1999. if they want to see him in the 300 seat kimballs east jazz club in san francisco, they not only have to bring their ticket, but they have to bring a copy of their cd "rainbow children" to the concert, so they know what to expect... «¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤» m @ http://www.bashirshakur.org «¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤÷¤»
