I've been on HBP meds since last year. Probably should have been on it sooner. Had a VA exam in April and my top number was in the low 100s...even taking my meds, religiously. It was all a combo of working from home and eating like trash, no exercise, mental strain from everything going on. I met with my doc, did a bunch of bloodwork and he upped my meds (Liprinosil sp?) to 20mg. I started walking 4 miles every morning, using my Fitbit and trying to beat my time everyday. Got my cardio and BP in a real good place. When I went back for a one month checkup he said PLEASE, if you don't do anything else, keep up the walking at a brisk pace...it does wonders for your heart and BP. So...If I can add some lifting back to that and get back to my intermittent fasting, I should be ok.
