first, and far most,Everybody who got hate in there blood, always got some stupid ass remark to say about the roots,meanwhile, you know you listen to they sh** jus as you listen to diffrent sh** like lenny kravitz, to jay-z, , to three 6 mafia even! and they're total garbage, but due to the constant garbage thrown at us thru mainstream radio, and media for that maater, we have no choice but to hear them out, ! and some of y'all secretly know you like some of jay sh** jus as the roots sh**! so why all of the sudden a hip hop band you does various type of sh** plus stay innovative in they're art work, why all of the sudden they're this poster group for positivty? and underground hip hop?

i dont know if you notice but if any of y'all hatin ass decided to go to any of they're show's you'll see that they are anything but underground! (i've never seen an underground group get AS MUCH LOVE FROM THE WORLD AS THEY HAVE!) plus tour the world, and help people carreers, as the okayplayers, (soulquarians,ect.) so whut im tryin to say is that how the fuck..at this point in there careers "underground"?

why should they have to stay underground , and not prosper the fruit of they're creative work, and not expand there horizions, I mean god damn, they've been sellin, under platnum for years! while helpin other careers and raising the bar for real talent and art( as far as production , shows, ect,)

All you have to do is listen to the decline, of the last albums from "it was written,to nastradamus"! it's obvious he traded in skills to reach a "commercial" filled audiance who dont care bout lyrics, jus catchy hooks, and a bullsh** dance beat!

so, now the roots decided to work w/ a commercial type cat, does that mean, they traded in skills for commercialism? well you have to wait and see for "phrenology!" until, then they still stayed consistant w/ they sh** ! so whut they expanded and work w/ other artist like jay z! aint nobody sayin sh** when they work w/ or cover songs for other artist like dead prez!,slum vill,talib, common, ect! but i guess you tryin to say that its ok, because they're not commercial! - well is that it? they not commercial or concious? cause they all hot and have hot singles in they own right, but the roots never claimed to be "positive" jus talented creative musicians! . yeah it's obvious that they're able to do concious minded songs, but they (black thought) is able to rip lyricall sh** some times better then the average!and can aslo spit some of the negative verses you've heard! so why do we equate concioous w/ the roots,a nd soon as they step outside your box, of small minded ignorance! they all of the sudden become "hypocrites!" mabey you should look deep inside yourself, and stop tryin to fit others in your small minded categories!
