"NBA summer league "

Always good to see how the rookies handle the stage early. Mitchell, Green, Suggs looking solid so far.

I like to see how the second year guys have progressed. Knicks got Quickley on the ball and he’s cookin.

Then there’s the old guys still fighting for a roster spot. Mike Beasley, Brandon Knight, Kyle Fogg and others .

damn Beas & BK fell off like that? I've heard KD himself say there was a time when he and Beasley were equals...

Yea, Beas was a bad bad man at one point. I can’t remember when and why he fell off, guess he’s trying to get one last shot somewhere. NBA, overseas, anywhere.

Not so great 2nd.

I'm not taking too much stock into it though.
The role he's playing in SL won't be what he plays in the season.
It's also not lost on me that he's still younger than everyone on the Bulls SL roster.

Williams showed flashes of being able to handle the ball and pass last season, and that really excited Bulls fans.
After Vucevic joined the team, he reverted to a more catch and shoot guy.
I think he's still working on that part of his game, so I don't expect it to be that refined.
It'll be interesting to see how he responds today against the Spurs.

I don't watch much college ball, but Ayo looked like a rookie playing his first SL game.
A lot of fans wanted the Bulls to draft Sharife Cooper.

In response to Reply # 6

Ayo is pretty unquestionably the "safer" pick. He's easily the better shooter, easily the better defender, and has more obvious physical tools to stick in the league. (He's also just such a hard worker, bulldog mentality, high character guy.)

Sharife is higher upside potentially, because if he can stick, he's already an elite ballhandler and elite live dribble passer, even by NBA standards, and those are exceptionally hard skills to develop. But... he's so small, not strong, can't finish through contact, can't defend at all, can't really shoot at all. His highest possible outcome (an outcome in which he learns how to shoot) might be higher than Ayo's highest, but his lowest possible outcome is waaaaay lower imo. Like, out of the league in relatively short order lower. Because if you're tiny, can't shoot, and can't defend, how do you stay on the floor? I think those are the reasons why he slipped so far on draft night.

So I think Ayo will be great for you-- especially considering the Bulls' goal is clearly to make the playoffs and try to push for good seeding already. Ayo is more ready to immediately contribute than Sharife in most projected outcomes.

I think Bulls fans saw a player that had an elite skill that filled a need. So I get that.
I'm personally sick of the Bulls drafting one-note players:

Chandler Hutchison
Kris Dunn (wasn't drafted by the Bulls but still)
Doug McDermott
Denzel Valentine
Marquis Teague

Once Coby White returns from injury, our guard lineup is gonna be crowded.
I'm expecting Donovan to put Ayo in a lot of 3 guard lineups.

If he absorbs half of what Draymond does, he is going to be a strong rotation player....he has the physical tools to be a Prime Draymond level defender...but that offense! Whew. Him and Wiseman!!! Too tough.

Like, Damian Lillard just isn't what the Warriors need, so he's likely out.

I've gone on record saying I think the Ben Simmons addition could really work out, but it's not exactly like his value is sky high at present, and the Sixers will likely be happy to wait until they get the right deal.

I meaaaaaaaan, if Zion and New Orleans are *actually* headed for a divorce, I feel like you could make an offer there, but then you encounter the problem that Zion's on a rookie deal, and there's likely no way you can send New Orleans the types of assets Zion is worth while making the money work.

Maybe Brad Beal? But since he'll be a free agent next year, why move considerable assets for him (unless near the deadline the Warriors think he'd make them favorites this year)?

Maybe make a move for Sabonis? Someone like that could provide value, but it's not like the Warriors generally play the sort of game that Sabonis brings max value for.

I just don't know off the top where the slam dunk deal is that will match the value on the Warriors roster of trading two high-upside dudes like Wiseman and Kuminga-- especially when Wiseman and Kuminga are both good matches for the roster if they come along. But I could be missing someone.

So would that push Klay to the 3 coming of 2 major injuries?

Do Ben and Dray work on the floor together or is the trade Ben for Dray?

I hadn't heard that one.

again, does Klay play the 3?

agreed, so are they a true contender with what they have or is the window closed?

fully siced.

he was bricking threes the first game, but the next two he's been knocking down open shots from well past the line. and his confidence is growing. and on top of that he jumps out the gym, protects the rim, and finishes well in traffic. i like his upside and think he can impact a game now.

moody has been impressive on a catch and shoot basis. (which the dubs need, badly). if he can consistently do that i think he can justify some rotation minutes, especially if he can sponge defensive knowledge from dray and iggy.

i want gp2 to make the squad, also. tough pg defender, bouncy, aggressive, and getting better as a shooter.

if wiseman comes back well from the mcl, i can see a really nice depth rotation. thing is, kerr can't play the same style w/ all them guys on the court. and they'll need a vet who can create to anchor them when there's more than 2 of them on the court (wigs, iggy). but they can get up and down the court. have the tools to be really tough defensively, still have some shooting.

i really want to see another year of development from wiggins. he was like a 2.5 threat last year (not a legit #2 star). i think he could be a weapon with another primary shooter on the court, b/c the spacing and gravity from klay and steph will open up more lanes for him to slash.

it would be great if dray could give a little more offense.

peace & blessings,

x.

Deuce is a beast, but is going to struggle with taller PGs, as I thought...but he can shoot, is an absolute pitbull on defense, and knows it isn't about him...great leadership attributes.

Grimes- he is a Klay lite type....still getting his timing, but he is all about buckets, and I think he is streaky more than a dead eye shooter...but we'll see. I think if he is operating with open looks he will be fine. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Sims - my new favorite goon has been up and down. When he gets to put people on a poster, he plays harder. Last night, 13 rebounds and one poster. Previous game, he was behind the ball all the time coming down court...maybe it was fatigue. The athleticism of course is there. He is also strong as shit....footwork for both rebounding positioning and scoring is a work in progress. Hopefully Thibs will get him into the rotation early in the season, get him minutes to boost his confidence, then let him go tear up G-League and bring him back for the stretch run and the playoffs.

Jackabootie or whatever his name is...back to the Euroleague. The other guy's name escapes me too.

MJ Walker will probably start the year in the G-League but he should end up on someone's bench soon.
