"Bron throwing shade at the thrown??"
Thu Aug-18-16 11:46 AM by melmag

http://brobible.com/sports/article/lebron-james-michael-jordan-too-much-credit/

“I don’t think MJ ever had a Game 7 in the Finals. And people say ‘Oh, well he was able to close it out early’ and they act like he just did it all on his own. They forget about the shot by Paxson on the left wing.

You want to know the crazy thing? In that particular game in Phoenix, MJ didn’t even have the ball in his hands. Pippen brought the ball up, Barkley went for the steal, Pippen threw it down to Horace Grant and that got the defense (out of place) because Barkley went for the gamble. They rotated to Horace Grant, and Horace Grant threw it to Paxson. MJ didn’t have nothing to do with that play.”

I dunno if that's impressive or pretty damn sad. I guess dude has his motivations for playing at a high level, so on some level you can't knock him for viewing Jordan with some measure of disdain.

quarter at that point but MJ had scored all 9 of them.

Barkley was trying to talk shit to Scottie then got beat by Scottie, Ainge went to help leaving Paxson wide the fuck open. I had forgotten than Danny Ainge was on that Suns team.

& Lebron has lost 4. They all, INCLUDING MJ, had the smarts and trust in one another to move the ball and find who the open man was going to be when MJ would draw the most attention. And they did, and executed, and won.

I guess Lebron's "point" is that MJ didn't drive it himself into a mob of players to take the final shot? Boohoo. Still got a ring.

As stated, MJ had scored EVERYTHING in the 4th prior to that and without his contributions, they don't even have the chance to make the 'right plays'.

And he just ignored all the finals game winners that MJ nailed to helped outpace teams in the finals, which is why he never had to go 7 games. You know, the very shots Bron's skated on most of his career (there have been occasions but he's mostly absent/inadequate in those moments). Let's not pretend like minus Ray Allen's and Kyrie Irving's shots he might actually be 1-6 in the finals.

He solidified himself as top 3 but whining ain't gonna get him the crown. Just get 2-3 more rings and I won't have no problem with the discussion. Hell, even I might "crown 'em" (RIP Denny).

3-4 with a choke job, superteam up and this crybaby sh*t ain't gonna cut it dawg.

He had his modern day Pippen and Grant in Wade and Bosh and still went 2-2. Bulls won 3 straight.

Cry.

it's a bit of a compliment LeBron is being somewhat irrational in how he views Jordan. His disdain and/or contempt is partially based on the greatness (very hard to type out that word as a diehard Knicks fan) of Jordan's accomplishments.

Notice LeBron isn't throwing shade or worrying about the ghosts of Kobe Bryant at all; this is the second instance I'm aware of regarding LeBron worrying himself about Jordan this postseason.

Bron is discrediting himself. He's basically saying MJ gets too much credit cuz his team won a few finals games AFTER MJ did the heavy lifting. But that's EXACTLY what LeBron had done most of his career. Should we give Bron LESS credit for his success then?

It's a stupid argument that's easily dismantled. Bron deserves his credit, just like Jordan. Bron's whining because he's finding it hard to crack that throne space and only sees 1 modern obstacle. Which I understand, but all he has to do is win a few more and it'll handle itself. Accept the challenge and be great.

Is he afraid last year was his last hurrah? Feeling the slippage?

I dunno but I think he can get at least 2 more and that would give him a very STRONG argument. 3 would finish it all off. You want to be the best, you have to accomplish herculean tasks. Given his mishaps, he has more ground to cover.

>And jordan and pippen lost to Detroit 2yrs in a row (89 & 90)

Yup and in 88 Pippen and Grant were rookies.
In 89 and 90 they were second and 3rd year players.

Wade was a finals MVP in his 8th season in the prime of his career
Bosh was a perennial allstar in his 8th season hitting the prime of his career

False.

Well, Ray Allen and Kyrie Irving are and will be mentioned more than Kerr and Paxson's on the account of being much better players. But those particular shots? Probably about the same, once we get passed the recentness of them and they all become old history.

>Paxson and Kerr shots r rarely mentioned in the mythology of
>Cheese Eyes

Because they are role players that had much less significant careers as Ray and Ky (so far). But those SHOTS are ALWAYS replayed when discussing the Bulls dynasty. FOH

>Yet as u just did folk never miss the chance to throw Ray and
>Kyrie's shots when talking Bron titles

You stanning ass twerp...BRON just brought up something to devalue Jordan's legacy (and yes, be intellectually honest if it's in you, that's exactly why he's making these statements) to shorten whatever perceived gap there is. But the very thing HE brought up, HE himself actually has MORE instances of in his career than MJ. It's stupid.

>I mean there's quite a number of folk who done rewrote history
>in their mind and think Wade carried Bron to those titles in
>Miami

Irrelevant. My post actually says, Bron should get his credit the way Jordan does. Stop deflecting cuz you don't have an argument to stand on.

>Brons a mental historian
>
>He can prolly tell u every 4th qt finals possession of MJs
>career

Great. Has nothing to do with what we're discussing. Way to cock guzzle for no apparent reason though. Kudos.

>It's like yal just read the Subject line of the post and got
>to typing

I read the whole statement. Stop trying to change this:

“I don’t think MJ ever had a Game 7 in the Finals. And people say ‘Oh, well he was able to close it out early’ and they act like he just did it all on his own. They forget about the shot by Paxson on the left wing."

From anything than what it was...first he makes it all about MJ (he never had a game 7...didn't say, the BULLS never had a finals game 7) then tries to finagle his his point to be that Jordan had good teammates. Bron's been to the finals 7 times and he's had some pretty good damn team mates too. And Jordan didn't have as good teammates in the 80's, which is why he spent 6 years dropping 30/7/7 roughly and was still getting bounced out the playoffs by the C's and Pistons.

He took a whiny angle to try and diminish a legacy he wants to surpass. And it comes off wack as hell. All he has to do is be who he is and win 2-3 more rings. That's it.

>But yal Bron haters been on hiatus all summer
>
>Good to see yal back

Like Ky and Ray Allen gonna get tons of playback in 20 years. It's been 25 years since Jordan's first title, 23 since Pax's shot and 18 since Kerr's. Yeah, the narrative is about the GOAT but those shots STILL get play in the Bulls dynasty lore.

>Yal muhfuggahs can't even be a lil honest with ya selves

Says the delusional Bron Stan-troll.

>Like I said all this boils down to is yal ain't had shyt to
>say bout Bron all summer
>
>He put a pacifier in yal loudmouth detracters grills

Not a detractor. He did his thing, very impressive. THAT has nothing to do with him making a stupid argument. He wants the throne. Let him earn it.

You can keep trollin' though. I'm out.

In response to Reply # 0

2.) Lebron's Impact is gonna be greater than MJ's.

First part he's trying to cop pleas. And he needs to cut it out. He's not Top 3 right now. He hasn't passed even Tim yet or Shaq, let alone MJ and eventually Cap. So cut that out.

But listening to this dude on Open Run talking about his photographic memory and how his mind is too advanced. Cut it out bro.

And you better win some more, cuz you ain't gonna eat off this last title for the rest of your career.

Second part, watching him on the Daily Show this week with Trevor Noah I find it safe to say his impact culturally and across community's is gonna be greater than MJ's. He's a nicer, more personable, smarter version that shows what a modern day sports superstar can be.

Not gonna say he'll reach Ali proportions, but he's still got a greater mark to make. And for that I root for this dude, besides the fact he's pretty great at hoops and a generational talent.

the Air Jordan line, the flair, he revolutionized the game aesthetics like no other before and after.
Lebron got nothing like that going for him.
great player but compared to MJ hardly any cultural impact.

Lebron wears the 23 because of Mike, that's all you need to know. Wasn't aping MJ like Kobe did but still...
he could have a greater positive impact if he went full activist mode but overall the cultural impact that MJ still has will not be repeated by any athlete simply because of the combination of the marketing and the era he dominated.
muhammad ali's icon status will not be duplicated for similar reasons. just replace the marketing with activism/"radical" beliefs.

I think he's better than Tim and Shaq and his legacy has surpassed theirs. He's on Cap's heels if not tied with him. MJ's my #1 so there's that. I ain't mad at anyone calling Cap the GOAT though.

But I think overall, Bron's post basketball career will top Jordan's from a social standpoint. Maybe not business wise but he has tons of potential there too so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I mean, I friggin' LOVE Survivor's Remorse and MJ has nothing like that in his arsenal.
