I'm a little disappointed that it's laughably more of the same but I'm not sure what I was expecting. It sounds twisted but I'll call bullshit on this movie if one of the two leading ladies doesn't die.
I'm just not sure how you can be such a carbon copy and top the first film, and I also think the pure ass-kickery bar was raised to a new level by The Raid and I don't know if Liam has it in him to match that.

I hope they address that because it is kind of odd that the daughter is almost sold into sex slavery and then they go on a European vacation.
It reminded me a story a friend told me about when his mom asked his dad (a WWII vet) if he wanted to go on a trip to France. He sighed, "I went there once. Killed a bunch of people. I'd rather not go back."
Unfortunately, the rest of the film not so much. The dialogue is pretty brutal, and the lack of an R rating REALLY hurts the film's impact.
I was watching the bad guy wishing to God they'd put Mandy Patinkin in that role instead.
It's okay-- it's diverting, I suppose. Nothing awful, outside of the dialogue.
*** MILD SPOILER *** My theater groaned when he was preparing to leave his wife for the third time in the film. "Wait here! I'll be right back!" *rolls eyes* *** MILD SPOILER OVER ***
But yeah. I mean, coulda been worse... but shoulda been better.
Definitely no where near as good as the first. While the premise of the first one was pretty far fetched, this one bordered on ridiculous. And that made it kind of funny.

not nearly as good as the first. But just so many stupid moments that had me like come one son.
1. daughter cant pass a driving test but can drive a manual through them streets like that? 2. daughter finding them so easily. 3. leaving the wife to go get daughter. He couldn't at least move her once he killed everybody. 4. You want me to believe this untrained rag tag group of thugs even find him to begin with? 5. This dude keeps talking bout his dead son and he will pay while he is trafficking girls for the sex market. 6. driving through the barricade at the embassy and surviving all them bullets. 7. the final showdown was a let down like a mug. Sorry dont believe that 5'5" mofo is going to give Liam a run for his money like that. Especially after he just ran through dude's whole crew.
fuck it though it was fun enough. I didn't have super high expectations after I found out he was the one taken this time. Once I found that out a few nights ago I figured the plot out easily.

The action was decent, good looking women in it, a couple laugh out loud moments. The moment that 2nd Drive score came in my friend just looked at me and said "you can't do that,"...LOL. Liam telling his girl to throw grenades all over the city was fucking hilarious as well. It was worth my money.
