but I grew up watching AND playing baseball
I had Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente, Tony Pena, Tony Parker cards growing up and the whole city was singing “We Are Family” which was the Pirates theme song. Then we had Bobby Bonilla and Barry Bonds in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
We watched a ton of baseball back in the day.
but once the Pirates got rid of the Black players and went with average white dudes.. we tuned out.
Then we only showed back up when we got McCutchen.
