If you are a die-hard college fan who grew up in a market with no NFL, it's very easy to understand.
My dad lived in NFL markets most of his life (Philly, Chicago, LA) but he likes the NFL less and less. He watches more college football now and follows the HS level a bit. He was a head coach at a high school, so was my grandfather (who played college football) and everyone in my family grew up with the game. He still loves the sport but the NFL leaves a lot to be desired for him, and for me, too. It's not about being fixed (though when you follow the money, I guess that is possible to some extent), it's more about the fan experience. There are just too many stoppages and ads. It's irritating, frankly, and awkward if you attend the game in person.
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
