were raised.We carry forward many, if not most, of the same traditions and patterns we were raised with.Normal is subjective.So it really isn't a matter of right or wrong.I'm not saying it's a problem, especially if it's done responsibly.Personally, I just choose not to normalize alcohol around my kids.I don't demonize it at all, either.They just don't see it as much as other children may.I was raised the same way (on my mother's side -- which I'm the closest too). It's actually somewhat odd for us to have alcohol at our family gatherings, although most of us do drink in some capacity.
