It was the big carnival scene at the end at I was smiling and bopping along because Sandy had decided the best way to appeal to men is to slut it out all over the place, Danny had his letterman jacket from track (an endeavor of his he had somehow managed to keep secret from everyone in the film), Rizzo wasn't pregnant so she was now free to continue fucking random guys without compunction, and all was right with the world.
And then they drive off into the sky.
????
I was thinking in my head, "You know this a pretty shitty way to end this film. With the two main characters breaking all known physical laws and driving their 1956 Studebaker into the clouds. Pretty much breaks down all the reality the film had going for it."
But then I remembered that the "reality" of the film is that when confronted with teenage angst and moral dilemmas, the best option is to break into song and dance. If people are aournd you, do not worry...they will know all the moves and be able to sing any chorus you may want to come up with.
