"Is Bron going to take his ball and go (to a new) home?"

Seems pretty obvious that this team is never going to win a title. Coaching change was masturbatory at best. They don't have money to bring people in even with the cap going up. The three stars don't really play off each other and the bench is just average. This is 10 years too late for Richard Jefferson to be getting tick in the Finals.

So is he going to bolt on them? IMO it's not a question of if but when. What better year than now with so many teams having flexibility?

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

It's funny because the first-time around Dan Gilbert played the insecure girlfriend by totally failing to chill and realize he had LeBron in hand for at least four and really more like seven years. He could have built around him the way Portland has or used him as a chip to lure FAs. Instead he tried to improve quickly and they never did a thorough job with the roster.

This time he continued playing the same role basically begging Bron to come back and saying he would do anything for him. The coaching change was an L. The Love trade, though hindsight is 20/20, was pretty much an L. Banking on veterans didn't net them the next Ray Allen, hell it didn't even net them the last Ray Allen.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

he could have not have, because the previous ownership screwed the team over with dumb-ass deals and drafting before he bought the team.

plus, once LeBron got going (much sooner than usual), it was essentially FA or GTFO because the lottery-stage of things wasn't happening.

a "Portland" situation wasn't going to happen, with the dumb fucks that ran the team before Gilbert's arrival. that failure is 90% on Gund/Pax

Gilbert's hand was forced when LeBron had ascended to one-man army status. sometimes the people who have the right intention can't get shit to go their way (see: Miami Heat in 2014)

the effort to lure FAs just fell flat. it's actually been better the second time around, but....

I hear what you are saying but they had time and options. They went in a clear direction and kept pushing in it. They kept trying to make these something-for-nothing deals to add a piece (e.g. Shaq). It was creative but not a substitute for a longer view.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

And he seems like a guy who cares about that.

I think it's more likely he pushes for a Kyrie trade (with CP3 being the obvious target) and then they look to move Love for multiple people ala AB, Amir, Kelly (not that I'd want to give up Bradley for Love. That might be irrational but I love AB and think Kevin's been overrated for a long time.)

i thought he'd surpass kobe but he has stalled. now steph might pass him. if he can go to another team and win 1-2 more titles it would look a lot better than rotting his 30's away in CLE. it gets more embarassing showing up every june to lose.

In response to Reply # 15

People who say well, all these other greats could have had more titles if they left and chased better teammates.

And if he went somewhere and DIDN'T win? It would be bonkers. Which is why he'd probably have to stay in the East and I'm not sure where he goes that is that much better off.

He HAS to bring a title to Cleveland. The rest of his career is all about that.

Love might be the one moved
they might also ship out the other guards
and let CP3/Kyrie be what Delly and Kyrie are now

that way LeBron can be a PF

they'll need another forward though and those are scarce
(if they go after Harrison Barnes I'm gonna vomit having to root for that jabroni)

And I doubt Rivers is going to trade CP3 for Love unless they have a trade of Griffin for a PG.

Although that's another issue with Irving for CP3; I doubt Doc would want Kyrie. It would have to be a three team deal.

meanwhile the smarter teams in the league
will follow the okc blueprint against gs
and try to assemble a roster of long athletic role players and defenders
to compliment their scoring stars.

he can basically NyQuil out the rest of his career.
came back when he could have kept losing in Miami under similar circumstances, decided to write his own story and gamble on an up and coming talent on a team with assets to spare.

gave his best years to Miami.
at this point, I'm truly not mad anymore.

he's about 93% back in the "Donovan McNabb" category of "you better not say a bad word about him" mode with me

You think LeBron himself is satisfied with anything less than a title? Absolutely not. He is not getting one here. This thread isn't even about success or failure, it's about his goals and what he will do next. The fact that you are taking it that way says a lot to support the idea that getting your ass handed to you in the finals is not something to celebrate and you know it.

I'm saying playing in June ain't a failure and for sure ain't reason to blow a team up or jump ship

Think about how stupid that sounds

A team that lost 2 whole games in the playoffs and muhfuggahs talkin about rebuilding lol

The warriors r probably the greatest team this decade and losing to them ain't some catastrophic failure

Not winning the east.. yea u can talk this dumb shyt

Bron straight

Of course he wants to win a ring

But yal sound like complete idiots saying he needs to jump ship or rebuild

It's good troll clowning material

the dubs aren't going anywhere and they were one of three teams in the west that would beat cleveland in a seven-game series.

usually i am in the same camp you are but this is a unique situation. they lost two games all playoff against a series of first-round quality opponents. they did what they were clearly supposed to do and nothing else. they want to take the next step and this group ain't taking it.

I've always been of the opinion that it can't be good for team chemistry when you have the superstar usurping the role of the coach and even the GM at times.

Imagine Curry telling Bob Myers who and who not to sign in FA. THank god we don't have that in Oakland.

Everyone knows their role. Whether in the offense, defense, coming off the bench or player personnel.

Embodiment of a team.

4 years ago Curry was considered injury-prone one-way player and some fans were mad that Monta was traded over him. Then Klay and Green came along and the rest is history.
But the point is, your boy never had this kind of sway early in his career. He couldn't mess with the front office decisions even if he wanted to. Yung Spice wasn't that kind of player back then. Hell, he couldn't even get a max contract, so...

Every superstar player who has been "not like the others" eventually takes a more assertive role wrt coaching/FO moves when they're not winning rings. We haven't seen Steph be in a superstar position and not winning YET.

Before then, he was just another excellent player.

You better believe that from now on, he will be consulted
on all front office moves.

Like when Curry shitted on his owners in public for
talking bad about Mark Jackson. He's earned the right
to talk now, and he will.

So that's an L for you right there

Lebron just respected the Miami front office.

You're trying to make this narrative about Lebron being

it, so just let it go.

Back to back NBA Finals says it is working, actually.

How was his initial relationship with Spo in Miami the first couple years? Fortunately, for Spo he had Riley backing him up. Otherwise Primabronna was going to try and get him fired just like he did to Blatt.

In response to Reply # 0

Lebron did what he had to do to elevate himself out of the "Greatest players to never have ring" cohort so he's already validated most of his "greatness".

I think there's diminishing returns on continuing to chase rings by moving around, at least in terms of reputation... and putting Cleveland on the championship map is probably as valuable as getting 2 rings elsewhere.

He's probably going to keep doing short term deals though to keep Gilbert and the front office motivated to keep paying up for the REST of the team. Even with the luxury tax they're paying, being in the finals continuously has got to be profitable... or at least more profitable than trying to attract fans without LeBron.

But maybe Gilbert eventually gets tired of LeBron orchestrating a train on his organization. "It ain't no fuuuu-uuuu-uuun...."... you know the rest. There's a point where Gilbert's gotta tell LeBron "no" for the good of the long term viability of the organization and how they handle that situation will determine whether LeBron stays the rest of his career.

Personally I think this is anyone's guess, same as Durant. But all this talk about him getting fried has a few layers to it.

He's had some unfair criticism in his career and yeah, the whole Voltron thing may turn out to haunt him more for the sequel than the first run. It was always ridiculous to fault him for trying to play with the best players he possibly could when the best his team could do for him was Wally and an unexpectedly solid Larry Hughes for a hot minute. The real criticism for that should have ended with the arrogance and pomp of the whole Decision debacle and the ensuing introduction (NOT ONE, NOT TWO, NOT THREE....).

Further, anyone mad that he saddled up with Wade and Bosh should have been placated when Dirk took a hot liquid shit in their collective mouths and putting the Diggler down on Bosh in critical moments. As an aside, revisionists and kick rocks with their bullshit about Kidd and Terry for that chip.

I do think he put himself in a corner when he came back and that may ultimately prove critical to his decision to stay but even then K/Love are almost certainly gone after this. Bron is difficult to weigh in a situation like this because he's so dominant but also domineering on the court and behind the scenes. He doesn't have the excuse of no help in this outing but at the same time he's come upon a fucking buzzsaw in GS. You could argue that Cleveland might actually be closer in this series without K/Love, though they'd still ultimately lose.

The fact that he's never left the east could- and honestly should- color his string Finals runs a little, though how much of that is fair is another story.

Still, the man plays out of his mind and last year he gave us the first real case for a Finals MVP for a losing team that we've since since Jerry actually pulled it off. He's proven that he can pull a string of nobodies further than anyone in the modern era and that should count for an awful lot. Even Shaq wasn't on Bron's level in that regard.

I think Durant is pretty likely to stay in OKC, the only team I think could lure him away would be San Antonio.

129. "Steve Kerr: LeBron has work to do (2011)"
In response to Reply # 103

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=6656859

Scottie Pippen had it all wrong when he recently compared LeBron James with Michael Jordan, said one former Chicago Bulls teammate.

"The irony to me is that LeBron is not Michael. LeBron is actually Scottie," former Bull and current television analyst Steve Kerr said Monday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "He's so similar to Scottie in that defensively he was just a monster, could guard anybody, really more of a point forward than scoring guard. Scottie always loved to distribute the ball. That's really where LeBron's preference is.

"Phil Jackson used to call Scottie a 'sometimes shooter.' Sometimes they would go in, sometimes they wouldn't. That's how it is with LeBron. He's a great talent and a great player but you can see his flaws as a basketball player. He doesn't have an offensive game that he can rely on: no low-post game, no mid-range jump shot so when the game really gets tough he has a hard time finding easy baskets and getting himself going. That's what Michael did in his sleep so that's why the comparison is wrong."
After James' Heat beat the Bulls in the Eastern Conference finals, Pippen told ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" that while he believes Jordan is the greatest scorer in NBA history, James "may be the greatest player to ever play the game."

After thriving against the Bulls, James struggled -- especially in the fourth quarter -- in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, who won three straight games against the Heat to win the title on Sunday.

James averaged 26.7 points per game in the regular season, but just 17.8 in the Finals, the largest discrepancy in history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

And after starring in the closing role against the Bulls, James scored just 18 points combined in the fourth quarter during the Finals, fueling talk about whether he can really be considered a player on the level of Jordan.

"Michael had three years at North Carolina with Dean Smith. That makes a big difference," Kerr said. "I think he was brought up at a time when there was probably better development at a young age in terms of coaching. I think LeBron is a product of the AAU system where you rely on your athleticism, you go and play 100 games a year but maybe you don't focus on your weaknesses and what you need to lock in on.

"As a result, fundamentally and technically LeBron has some flaws. He has to address those. If I were him I would spend all summer down on the low block shooting jump hooks and turnaround jump shots -- the entire summer."

given the dollars they've doled out for their current max contract players. It'll be interesting to see which other teams would be willing to play ball with the Cavs in that scenario though.

I mean, he's done some things that have hurt his cause to a degree. He's certainly in a position to hold the Cav's hostage to his whims and while it's hard to fault a guy for utilizing the rare degree of power and leverage at his disposal, particularly against a team that hasn't exactly earned his trust in that department, that means it's also fair to critique the moves that are made at his behest.

I'm just not sure what your overarching point is with Tristan.

bron started lobbying them to extend him during the season and thompson's camp wanted even more than he got. after he showed out on the glass in the finals, they didnt have much choice but to pay him.

same thing with the love trade, yes it turned out that both the proponents and detractors were right. on one hand, you don't get an all-star big man in his prime becoming available ever and wiggins was not going to help them immediately. on the other, love did turn out to be a little bit of fool's gold (stat stuffed on a weak team) and they aren't going to win a title with him either.

i think the biggest bron fails are 1) extending varejao, you could see that as a bad decision from a mile away and 2) the coaching change, which has been a lateral move at best.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

What kind of role could Wiggins play on the current Cavs roster? I'm making this assumption out of complete ignorance, but I'm guessing he's more than just a third wheel stand on the wing/once in a blue moon go into the paint type of player that Love currently serves as.

I'm mainly wondering if him and Kyrie could co-exist since Kyrie is a very ball dominant player; it's evident LeBron can easily defer and facilitate if he needs to, so on paper, him and Wiggins could co-exist.

Kyrie is the problem w/ the Cavs. Cavs need a "PG" like Zach Lavine who ain't really a PG.

Kyrie can't be ball-dominant when Lebron is also ball-dominant.

Lebron and Wiggins would be like a 6'9" Lowry and 6'8" Derozan.

With LBJ and Wiggins, you have two guys who are mediocre at best from 3 and it's tough to make it in today's NBA with that. I mean, DeRozan isn't great from 3 but he was better than both LBJ and Wiggins this season.

Wiggins, LBJ, and Tristan would be a beast frontcourt defensively but the lack of perimeter shooting would be an issue. They would have had money to go after a free agent shooting guard who could have helped things; you just can't rely on JR Smith as a starter if you want to win a chip.

Again, I think personalities aren't clicking but on paper, Kyrie at the point, LeBron at PF, and Love at C should be great. Get 3 and D guys at the 2 and 3 and you're money. Instead they are playing Tristan at the 5, Shumpert disappointed so JR is starting at the 2 which gives you three minus defenders in the starting lineup.

i was more speaking about how they'd fit on the court and that Wiggins (at this point in his career) isn't a ball-dominant player and will just pick his spots to get his production.

i was gonna edit my post to say that along w/ Kyrie being the issue that 'Bron needs to take some of the weight for not getting his shooting up to par and i mean his shooting in general, not just his shooting from 3.

His legacy is not on the line - it's already cemented. Love's legacy is on the line. Kyrie's legacy is on the line. Those are guys who have to perform and show up if they want to be regarded highly in this League. Bron has already achieved more in this game than nearly all the Greats before him.

He has more title runs in him - but if this team doesn't come back with a vengeance in games 3&4 - Cleveland *will* clean house and bring some players in who can actually vie for a title or LeBron will have to make a very tough decision.

Either way - legions of #HurtLocker stans will be upset.

oscar robertson, one ring, hakeem, two rings, jerry west, one ring, wilt, two rings, elgin baylor, zero rings, karl malone, zero rings, charles barkley, zero rings, julius erving, one ring (NBA), AI, no rings rick barry, one ring, bill walton, two rings, george gervin, zero rings, pete maravich, no rings, zeke, two rings.

i am not saying all those guys are top 15 obviously, but for goddamn sure some of them are. your list would just be a bunch of 60s celtics, showtime guys and jordan-era bulls, basically, plus tim duncan.

One for bigs (4/5) and one for perimeter players. You have Wilt, Cap, Shaq, Hakeem, Russell, Moses and Duncan. Those seem like givens and obviously Jordan. To make everyone else compete for those three spots ensures some great, deserving players don't make it.

I think I would have those seven plus Malone, Barkley and Bill Walton (on that Gale Sayers exception).

Smalls I would have Jorn, Oscar, Elgin, Magic, Larry, Doc, Bron, West, Zeke and Kobe, though there are certainly some arguables there (Hondo, Pippen, et al).

the list of people who've accomplished more than him is less than 10. The list of people more skilled than he is is less than 5. So tell me how he doesn't make the cut? If he looks disappointing comparatuvely it's because he followed/was compared against the greatest single player to ever do it. I'm not even saying those comparisons weren't fair, cause if anyone had a chance of surpassing him it was Bron.m, I'm just saying if you take a step back you can't find 10 better players. We're too busy laughing at his current failures to see that.

I dunno I mean I am not saying his being outside the top 10 is ridiculous when you consider the great big men plus Jordan, Magic, Bird, Oscar ... that's already more than 10. When you get to the top 10 you're up against the greatest of the great.

I think the big 3 are obvious (Wilt, Cap, Russell) but it's awfully hard to knock any of those guys off the list.

LeBron could be arguable against those guys but not clearly better, hence why he may or may not be top 10. Hakeem at his best was better, LeBron had a better career though. Shaq and Duncan are his peers and both guys were more successful in more places. Moses was another guy that you got on your roster and right away you were in business, even if the rest of your team was suspect. Everything Dwight Howard should have been and more.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

i can only put them ahead if i cancel out everything once the rings are counted. To me 4 MVPs and ruling a conference for the better part of a decade puts him in a category that these guys aren't in. Duncan is close but I don't think his personal accomplishments match up. Shaq has more rings but his prime wasn't quite as long as it should've been (the MVP count isn't 100% fair to him, I know).

Say he gets in over Duncan and Hakeem but not Moses and Shaq (just a for-instance), the top 10 looks like

Wilt
Russ
Cap
Shaq
Moses
Jordan

Then you have four spots left for LeBron, Oscar, Magic, Larry, Doc, Elgin and West, which means two don't make it. That's not even mentioning Kobe, who while I think was not quite as good as LeBron, was every bit his peer and certainly has an argument.

I think saying he is 100% top 20 is safe. Personally I would reluctantly have him in my top 10. But it's not obvious.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Direct your questions accordingly to Kyverson and Kev Big Love.

But cot damn you're really showing your true hurt colors this post-season. Supposed to be a Dubs fan but spend the bulk of your time trying to denigrate a player who will go down as leaps & bounds greater than any Warriors player in past, present, or future NBA lore.

I'll pray for you though bro.

In a strange way last season was good for him. He lost to the Warriors but he put up a real fight without any help. The assumption was damn if only one of those two stay healthy he wins and if both stay healthy Lebron is in the 3 rings club.

Assumption disproven.

Cleveland is his best chance to win. GM Bron brought in KLove and got Blatt out the paint. HIs best bet is to rig the system even more. Take the vet minimum and literally remake the roster. Melo is overkill and hurts the team but every other superstar is game. Bron needs a real point guard around him.

Bron's legacy is already cemented as he said winning a chip in Cleveland is not a guarantee. The team made the finals two years in a row in the midst of multiple championship runs to the finals.

Even if the Cavs get swept this is not a loss for Bron as Kevin Love is out so it's Bron and Ky versus the greatest team in NBA history. This is far from a loss for the Cavs but another path on their road.

the move I expect is something done out of panic.
doesn't matter what it is, but it'll be some reactionary shit that doesn't amount to anything.

I alluded to it in the game post. it's becoming clear. LeBron + "help" isn't enough to win anymore. enough to get to the Finals, but winning is something else when the dominant team is a Spurs/Suns hybrid.

fuckin' sucks.

fuck Draymond Green.

We have Marie "Amristar" Antoinette, Frontrunner Extraordinaire and Arch Duke of Privilege Personified.

Then we have pretentious username saying he doesn't "get the reverence for the fringe big men", presumably referring to Dream, The Big Fundamental, and the MDE because this is apparently the Twilight Zone.

The weird conversation about Brawn's legacy, which included Vex saying his legacy is set in cement- it's not- and Kira positing the notion that Bron should take the vet minimum to build another FrankenTeam that includes Carmelo for some strange reason.

I can only imagine what sort of fuckery we'll see in here by tomorrow.

We're talking about where Brawn fits in with that bunch and you said you don't understand the reverence for those guys and there's a HELL of a discussion to be had with all of them in that regard.

When you say you don't get the reverence for those guys in that context, it's absurd because it implies that there's no conversation to be had and that Brawn ahead of them is automatic.

Bron needs to rig the system even more in his favor before it is too late. He needs to make emergency changes before KD gets the bright idea to come to Boston with their ability to build a team around him...

“I have this on pretty good authority: The Celtics have sat with his agent and other representatives of Durant,” Stearns said Monday morning on WEEI. “The Celtics do know — I don’t know who it is — but they do know who he would prefer to be brought here in a LeBron (James)-Chris Bosh-Dwyane Wade-like way.

We need to upgrade our bench and the rest of our team this coming offseason. We need a defensive minded assistant to help coach Lue.

You guys have an embarrassment of riches from the top down.

I know where you've come from to get here but the number of factors that have fallen in place with a ridiculous mix of talent from the front office on down that fits so seamlessly together is highly unlikely.

By contrast, your approach to the Cavs and Brawn has a "let them eat cake" air to it.

Plus you were kind of quiet until they put the afterburners back on.

Who cares how they've got where they are? How'd the heat get where they were with bron. How'd the spurs do it? What are you even talking about? And shouldn't he even enjoy it more since its a terrific blend that is highly unlikely in sports.

>where they were with bron. How'd the spurs do it? What are you
>even talking about? And shouldn't he even enjoy it more since
>its a terrific blend that is highly unlikely in sports.

Here's a fine example:

"so fortunate that Curry doesn't meddle in GM/front office affairs "

Well, sure. That's a good thing and it's an element of what makes the Warriors work....but that's because everything is working out.

Look, I'd be pissed if the Lakers signed Brawn in part because we don't really need a dude trying to play GM. Kobe had his little run but eventually fell back.

Here's where a nuanced perspective comes in handy:

While I wouldn't want a guy on my squad who more or less makes personnel decisions by proxy, I can't fault Lebron for that because the Cavs front office has never been worth shit. When he went to Miami, he was basically the guy who put that squad together and they ultimately won titles with that formula. He's back with the Cavs and his impact on the team from that end is debatable, I can't imagine the Cavs making quality moves on their own.

So yeah, while Amristar is glad Steph isn't fucking with the front office moves, he kind of doesn't have to. Hence... he's delusional about that. It's like Stephanie McMahon talking about how she had to work her way up and started out working in the mail room or whatever, as though she wasn't already halfway up the corporate ladder even then. It's a completely tone deaf perspective.

>>By contrast, your approach to the Cavs and Brawn has a "let
>them eat cake" air to it.
>
>Lol how the hell should he feel about the CAvs???

For one, this is the second time you're badly conflating things. I'm not talking about how he should "feel". I'm talking about his perspective, or, rather, lack thereof. He's glad Steph doesn't do something he hasn't had to do in a way that presents a negative slant on Brawn, who is simply taking control of a situation where his front office has failed in the past .

>especially when bron stans were talking bout what was gonna
>happen in the 'rematch'?

That has nothing to do with what I'm saying.

ya'll being whoever got upset/annoyed/whatever about the curry GM/statement.

>"so fortunate that Curry doesn't meddle in GM/front office affairs "

LOL he clowning ya'll but you wanna discuss the particulars of his statement lololol.

Its like if JR shoots a 3 from 30 feet out and gets benched by Lue bc of it Armistar would be like " I sure am glad that my coach allows his guys to have some freedom in the office" you gonna respond with well if you look at their respective shot chart Curry is pretty good from 30 ft out and jr isn't. You aren't in reality sir.

see above.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

lol who is "ya'll"?
He's certainly not clowning me.
I have no dog in the fight.
I made an observation.

What's noteworthy is that, at this point, you're not addressing the actual observation but instead falling on this weak ass "he stuntin and you wanna discuss the particulars? lolz"

You know, the "why so serious" defense. "He stuntin! he ain't got time for facts an shit!! lolz!"

Which is downright hilarious considering HE said "I'm just stating facts".

It's hilarious to watch you take pride in dumbing it down to that level though.

lol yep. As I said. What a sorry ass tact.

Yes, he's trying to clown, but he looks like an idiot in the process because what he's actually clowning makes no sense whatsoever.

Lol he is stating facts. Curry don't meddle. that's a fact lol Nothing you stated changed that fact or proved that what he said was wrong.

Nah he stated a fact. He was right. Have fun proving that his factual statement isn't in reality lolz.

Cool story. If his statement wasn't clearly made in the context of a direct contrast to Brawn you'd have half a point.

I'm addressing the his statement based on the context in which it was made. You continue to dumb things down and discard every ounce of context attached to his statement because stuntin, lolz.

as my approach should be. Cavs fans and apologists were quick to point out their injuries last season. Always with an undertone of "they got lucky." Been that way since, well, this past Sunday. They're quiet now after the blowout. I'm willing to buy a plane ticket to cleveland and give out free hugs if that will make you feel any better though.

Cenario is literally the only unbiased observer of this whole shit who pointed out that the Cavs stood a better chance with Delly/Tristan. And he was right.

I miss one game post in the WCF (because I was in Hawaii mind you) and I went quiet. Okay dude.

In response to Reply # 0

Lacob won’t accept that what the Warriors have achieved is a product of anything but a master plan. “The great, great venture capitalists who built company after company, that’s not an accident,” he said. “And none of this is an accident, either.”

He boasted that the Warriors are playing in a far more sophisticated fashion than the rest of the league. “We’ve crushed them on the basketball court, and we’re going to for years because of the way we’ve built this team,” he said. But what really set the franchise apart, he said, was the way it operated as a business. “We’re light-years ahead of probably every other team in structure, in planning, in how we’re going to go about things,” he said. “We’re going to be a handful for the rest of the N.B.A. to deal with for a long time.”

- Yo, what's this red dot? it's gaining of us..
- Is it a star? A red giant?
- Nah, Duncan is too old, and it looks kinda black.
- A black hole maybe?
- Nah, Kobe retired, we passed him a while ago...
- Oh shit, it's going faster!
- OH SHIT!
