"2021-22 NBA Season: Week 4"
Wed Nov-10-21 02:55 PM by allStah

Philly is fun to watch, and Maxey is evolving into a hell of a pg. They beat
my Bulls twice and gave the Bucks all they could handled, and they did
it without Embid. They don’t need Ben Simmons.

Andre Drummond is shining....Lakers fans said he was washed.
Players seem to shine before joining and after leaving the Lakers.

How sway?

You made it sound as if he isn’t adding anything else and is JUST
rebounding. Yall said he was washed and couldn’t finish around the rim.

Well, that’s not what the stats say.

Harrell was the Wizards' only hope of keeping it honest.

And then Kuzma. 3 after 3 after 3 after 3. Dumb ass plays in the last 30 seconds. Man.

But steals don’t define total defense. If that were the case the steals leader
would win DPOY every year.

Lonzo is guarding 1-4, and holding players during the time that he guards
them under 31 percent shooting. He locked down Julius Randle, a player
who has about 60 pounds over him.

He guards the opposing team’s best player almost every night regardless
of size.

Like, it's an extra 9 mil a year. You'd have to pay luxury tax on that, of course... but you're also the Lakers. They've also easily signed like 5+ mil worth of free agents since they let Caruso walk, so it's clearly not a hard number they refused to cross. They obviously just took the worth of his point-of-attack defense and ball movement for granted.

Caruso was willing to take less than what the Bulls offered
them to stay with the Lakers, and they said no.

They weren’t even willing to offer him 15mil/2 years.

Shit is sad.

But, hey, thank you.

Clearly - the team cheaped out, perhaps thinking they can replace him with some vets or something. It’s a bummer. But glad to see him flourish elsewhere - it just sucks knowing he wanted to stay.

The LeBron experience is what it is.

LeBron teams tend to have frequent turnover because they’re always win now. You may win a title, but you may trade away some great talent. You’ve gotta take the good with the bad.

Westbrook’s fit has been questionable but Laker fans (and others) have said they’ll figure it out. I’m in that camp too - but after being burned with the Dwight/Nash years I’m also aware early season games mean SOMETHING. I’m bummed by not keeping some of the squad - mostly Caruso (even though I was a big Kuzma fan and will forever root for the Ingram/Lonzo/KCP/Nance/Clarkson/Zubac group).

I think they’ll get it together. We’ll see. But if LeBron is on your team you’ve gotta prepare for it to be a mercenary title chasing squad.

18 a game, beat defensive player on the team. He isn’t going
to be able to do a lot of scoring because he has the assignment of
guarding the other team’s best player.

Him scoring 30-40 every now and then is just fine.

my first thought was: he's doing them a favor.

cuz, by then i had seen enough of Maxey to know that Philly was gonna def. be better w/ him and better w/out Simmons.

also, IMO (maybe I didn't watch enough and stats don't back it up) but for someone who can't really score and who was supposed to a great "point-forward", Simmons always felt like a bit of a black hole when he got the ball - like he'd just dribble around a lot it felt. again, i could be way wrong, just a vibe i always got when i watched.

He had no purpose
His strength offensively is open court runs
Another telling stat
We’re one of the slowest teams IRT pace
I think Embiid has the slowest average speed…with Bron and Harden
So his strength also wasn’t to the advantage of a franchise focused on a big
They really over estimated their leverage by sitting out
Offense is clicking
Full strength…I like our chances vs anyone
If we get something significant for Ben…we’re in title contention IMO
It was entertaining…until the season started
as games go by…Ben is further from my mind

2. Again, steph is unreal, and I'm really not sure how you guard that.
Even some of the Bulls BEST attempts resulted in him draining multiple 3s. Watching him showed me the difference between all star and superstar.

3. No game exposed how important Vucevic is than this one.
Both DDR and LaVine were doubled with the Warriors not having
to worry about a threat in the post.

4. Also, Alize Johnson didn't have a good game. Even for him.
A LOT of dropped passes in the paint, getting stripped, careless dribbling, missed passes.
I could see why Donovan went with Cook more in the 2nd half.

5. LaVine's hand seems to be bothering him less,
or he's getting better at shooting on it.
He still had trouble passing out of the double teams.

6. The Warriors defense was...they were everywhere.

7. Lonzo had a tough shooting night, but man I wanted him to keep shooting it.

8. At full health I'd like to think we would have made this game competitive.

the Cavs are now finally separated from the bottom rung of the NBA.

20 point rout of Detroit tonight, with a depleted Cavs team missing its extra scorers. The game was never close once the Cavs pulled away.

Tacko comes out to a "RVD" ovation.

No nationally broadcasted games. The league's loss.

Two players (Rubio and Mobley) have TRANSFORMED this team. Everyone is stepping up. Garland looks like a bad ass.

This is the most hype I've been over a Cavs team since summer of 2014 at least.

And I prefer this team, that ain't sniffing the Finals, to the 2017-18 team (LeBron's last before going to LA).

Vucevic wouldn’t have made a difference....

i was wondering what they would look like against the better teams in the league since the record was kinda padded against some hamandeggers.

but yeah...this team is built really well and can blow out anyone if they are shooting well.

and that d? its crazy that it will get even better once klay comes back.

When it was around 57-74 Dubs, I joked that they'll fuck around and take 74 this year if the league is gonna be what it is. Buddy looks at me and honestly says they're good for 55 at best. Told him I'll wager a $100 bottle of wine they do SIXTY ONE if he thinks 55 is the cap and he went broke boy on me. Again, I hate betting, but barring a Steph ankle roll Kerr's boys are my boys this year. Steph gotta show this league it's not all about two way forwards.

The Warriors' success is not all about Steph either. Steph has a two-way forward on his team too even though some people don't think of Draymond that way because he doesn't score a lot but he facilitates the offense and allows Steph to focus on scoring.

came back down 19, with the refs up the Celtics' ass, in a game where the Cavs were held to NINE POINTS in the 1st quarter. Schroeder was KILLING the Cavs.

No-called that Tatum push off late.

WHO ELSE BUT E&J!!! GARLAND! RUBIO!

Cedi and Windler AGAIN with quality minutes.

This team needs scoring and bad, but that defense is keeping them in games.

Kyrie wouldn’t even be able to get to the rim with the twin towers
on paint patrol.

I really think Boston has run Tatum and Brown into the ground.
Those dudes went to the ECF three years in a row, and they have
no help, and both had bouts with CoVID. Brown is out injured,
and Tatum’s offense has fallen off the rails.

People have been quick AF to write THT off as the lesser of him & Caruso - but his upside/ceiling has always been higher.

Having THT and Ellington back has been significant. Once Nunn, Ariza & Bron get back it will be fascinating to see this squad whole.

Evan Mobley and Badman Barnes.

everyone else lags behind them.
Duarte is good.
Suggs is looking promising.
I'm not throwing Cade in the bushes until Detroit gets some shooters.
Ditto for Jalen Green and the Rockets (that team is very bad, despite having a few good players)

but the IMPACT both Mobley and Barnes have had on their respective teams (which were in the NBA bathroom if not the toilet last season) is immediately visible.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

all that athleticism really bothered the dubs on offense. and lamelo's ceiling... once he gets more consistent from three... damn.

even though it was sloppy, it was a fun game to watch.

two highest offenses both held to around 10pts below average speaks to how good both defenses were.

idk that gsw has that many people 'off' from distance too many times, but that's not a plea cop at all b/c CHA got a squad. gonna be interesting to see where they end up in the east.

on a positive note for the warriors, it's good to see kuminga getting minutes early and getting acclimated. hopefully he can become really impactful by mid season.

peace & blessings,

I’m taking the L now. Caruso played close to 40 mins yesterday,
and him and Ball worked strenuously on the defensive end,
so they might be fatigued.

Yesterday’s game against the Clips required intense defense from the Bulls.
I’m not sure they will come with the same energy tonight.

and looking fresh as a garden salad out there. We are running circles around the
Lakers. Ball came out and set the tone with his defense and shooting. He is the
anchor piece, and his defense on Anthony Davis has been amazing (when he
guarded him). This guy can guard 1-5. He plays just like Pippen at 6’7.

I expected the Bulls to be flat and tired, boy did they wonderfully surprise me.

If Coby can emulate Lou Wills coming off the bench, our offense will be
beyond explosive.

Derrick Jones, jr. is having a coming out party! Billy always finds his goon.

Los Angeles Bulls! majority of the starting lineup is from Cali...They
