2750552, 2021-22 NBA Season: Week 4 Posted by allStah, Wed Nov-10-21 02:51 PM
Philly is fun to watch, and Maxey is evolving into a hell of a pg. They beat my Bulls twice and gave the Bucks all they could handled, and they did it without Embid. They don’t need Ben Simmons.
Andre Drummond is shining....Lakers fans said he was washed. Players seem to shine before joining and after leaving the Lakers.
How sway?
|
2750554, Drummond is getting rebounds, he has always been able to do that. Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Nov-10-21 02:59 PM

2750568, so Drummond hasn't been a great rebounder his entire NBA career? Posted by ThaTruth, Wed Nov-10-21 06:58 PM
|
2750569, I’m saying he does more than just rebound. He is scoring as well. Posted by allStah, Wed Nov-10-21 07:26 PM
You made it sound as if he isn’t adding anything else and is JUST rebounding. Yall said he was washed and couldn’t finish around the rim.
Well, that’s not what the stats say.

2750574, His stats were good for the Lakers too Posted by DJR, Wed Nov-10-21 09:45 PM
I’ll take AD at center, with Dwight and Jordan cleaning up the rest of the minute. Thanks. That position isn’t a problem for the Lakers.

2750727, he had me so sick. Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Nov-12-21 11:14 PM
Beal was in hell for most of that game. Harrell was the Wizards' only hope of keeping it honest.
And then Kuzma. 3 after 3 after 3 after 3. Dumb ass plays in the last 30 seconds. Man.

2750573, Check Thibs bank account. Posted by allStah, Wed Nov-10-21 09:45 PM
He sat the starters for the 4th quarter, the bench was dead tired by the middle of the 4th after bringing the Knicks back.
I’ve never seen anything like that in my life

2750577, Bulls handling the 7-3 Mavs with realtive ease. Posted by RandomFact, Wed Nov-10-21 10:12 PM
lonzo with like a 100 threes. caruso with like 15 steals. zach doing 360's and shit.
big win before a tough west coast trip.
|
2750579, For some reason I wasn’t interested in watching the game Posted by allStah, Wed Nov-10-21 10:17 PM
I knew it was going to be an easy for some reason. Their interior is worse than ours.
I watched it for a few mins...saw Alize got some tick. Good.

2750586, THT might be a player but it was so stupid to not retain Caruso. Posted by Ryan M, Thu Nov-11-21 12:16 AM
|
2750605, if Caruso continues at this rate, he gonna fuck around and win DPOY... Posted by PROMO, Thu Nov-11-21 09:37 AM
off the bench.
LOL.
|
2750610, Naw, Lonzo Ball has that on lock right now. Posted by allStah, Thu Nov-11-21 10:02 AM
|
2750612, Caruso leads the league in steals, from the bench. Posted by PROMO, Thu Nov-11-21 10:16 AM
Giving bums like James Harden hell, etc.
from the bench.
that's nuts.
|
2750618, Caruso is great, could be in the running for sixth man of the year Posted by allStah, Thu Nov-11-21 11:18 AM
But steals don’t define total defense. If that were the case the steals leader would win DPOY every year.
Lonzo is guarding 1-4, and holding players during the time that he guards them under 31 percent shooting. He locked down Julius Randle, a player who has about 60 pounds over him.
He guards the opposing team’s best player almost every night regardless of size.
|
2750621, They honestly could've retained both. Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Nov-11-21 11:50 AM
Like, it's an extra 9 mil a year. You'd have to pay luxury tax on that, of course... but you're also the Lakers. They've also easily signed like 5+ mil worth of free agents since they let Caruso walk, so it's clearly not a hard number they refused to cross. They obviously just took the worth of his point-of-attack defense and ball movement for granted.
|
2750623, Proof of how terrible lakers’ management is Posted by allStah, Thu Nov-11-21 12:05 PM
Caruso was willing to take less than what the Bulls offered them to stay with the Lakers, and they said no.
They weren’t even willing to offer him 15mil/2 years.
Shit is sad.
But, hey, thank you.
|
2750677, Can’t disagree. Posted by Ryan M, Thu Nov-11-21 11:02 PM
Clearly - the team cheaped out, perhaps thinking they can replace him with some vets or something. It’s a bummer. But glad to see him flourish elsewhere - it just sucks knowing he wanted to stay.
The LeBron experience is what it is.
|
2750693, Ryan came through with the truth. Posted by allStah, Fri Nov-12-21 09:12 AM
This is wonderful. I’m proud of you....
Now, give Vex a sip of that holy water.
|
2750712, Let me be clear though. Posted by Ryan M, Fri Nov-12-21 05:03 PM
LeBron teams tend to have frequent turnover because they’re always win now. You may win a title, but you may trade away some great talent. You’ve gotta take the good with the bad.
Westbrook’s fit has been questionable but Laker fans (and others) have said they’ll figure it out. I’m in that camp too - but after being burned with the Dwight/Nash years I’m also aware early season games mean SOMETHING. I’m bummed by not keeping some of the squad - mostly Caruso (even though I was a big Kuzma fan and will forever root for the Ingram/Lonzo/KCP/Nance/Clarkson/Zubac group).
I think they’ll get it together. We’ll see. But if LeBron is on your team you’ve gotta prepare for it to be a mercenary title chasing squad.

2750649, He had to outshine Edwards. I think that was the motivation. Posted by Castro, Thu Nov-11-21 04:20 PM
They need to find a way to put that in a bottle and give it to him before every game....
|
2750657, Naw. He is good the way he is. Posted by allStah, Thu Nov-11-21 04:50 PM
18 a game, beat defensive player on the team. He isn’t going to be able to do a lot of scoring because he has the assignment of guarding the other team’s best player.
Him scoring 30-40 every now and then is just fine.

2750672, Maxey: I don’t know a Ben Simmons Posted by allStah, Thu Nov-11-21 09:09 PM
Who the fock is Ben?
|
2750702, I doubt Ben EVER had b2b 30 point games Posted by bentagain, Fri Nov-12-21 01:31 PM
Our offense is actually better without Ben, which may not be a surprise …to anyone outside the Klutch bubble… Dude made himself irrelevant by sitting out Maxey my PG.
|
2750703, right when this simmons shit started really popping off... Posted by PROMO, Fri Nov-12-21 02:02 PM
my first thought was: he's doing them a favor.
cuz, by then i had seen enough of Maxey to know that Philly was gonna def. be better w/ him and better w/out Simmons.
also, IMO (maybe I didn't watch enough and stats don't back it up) but for someone who can't really score and who was supposed to a great "point-forward", Simmons always felt like a bit of a black hole when he got the ball - like he'd just dribble around a lot it felt. again, i could be way wrong, just a vibe i always got when i watched.
|
2750705, In the halfcourt…absolutely Posted by bentagain, Fri Nov-12-21 02:23 PM
He had no purpose His strength offensively is open court runs Another telling stat We’re one of the slowest teams IRT pace I think Embiid has the slowest average speed…with Bron and Harden So his strength also wasn’t to the advantage of a franchise focused on a big They really over estimated their leverage by sitting out Offense is clicking Full strength…I like our chances vs anyone If we get something significant for Ben…we’re in title contention IMO It was entertaining…until the season started as games go by…Ben is further from my mind

full strength on this road trip.
his shot hasn't been falling but he's been assisting and rebounding at a high rate. and obviously we are thin with big bodies to begin with.
on the flip side i can see zach having one of those coming out parties on national tv tonight.

2750736, Few things: 1. Steph is unreal. Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Sat Nov-13-21 08:59 AM
2. Again, steph is unreal, and I'm really not sure how you guard that. Even some of the Bulls BEST attempts resulted in him draining multiple 3s. Watching him showed me the difference between all star and superstar.
3. No game exposed how important Vucevic is than this one. Both DDR and LaVine were doubled with the Warriors not having to worry about a threat in the post.
4. Also, Alize Johnson didn't have a good game. Even for him. A LOT of dropped passes in the paint, getting stripped, careless dribbling, missed passes. I could see why Donovan went with Cook more in the 2nd half.
5. LaVine's hand seems to be bothering him less, or he's getting better at shooting on it. He still had trouble passing out of the double teams.
6. The Warriors defense was...they were everywhere.
7. Lonzo had a tough shooting night, but man I wanted him to keep shooting it.
8. At full health I'd like to think we would have made this game competitive.

2750726, that Kuzma bullshit left a bad taste in my mouth, BUT.... Posted by Dr Claw, Fri Nov-12-21 11:13 PM
the Cavs are now finally separated from the bottom rung of the NBA.
20 point rout of Detroit tonight, with a depleted Cavs team missing its extra scorers. The game was never close once the Cavs pulled away.
Tacko comes out to a "RVD" ovation.
No nationally broadcasted games. The league's loss.
Two players (Rubio and Mobley) have TRANSFORMED this team. Everyone is stepping up. Garland looks like a bad ass.
This is the most hype I've been over a Cavs team since summer of 2014 at least.
And I prefer this team, that ain't sniffing the Finals, to the 2017-18 team (LeBron's last before going to LA).
|
2750730, Lavine 7 TOs Posted by allStah, Fri Nov-12-21 11:54 PM
Just being focking foolish with the ball, and our interior is getting mauled. We are too small. Looney is killing us on the board.d
Vucevic wouldn’t have made a difference....
These dudes are almost up by 30
This is disgusting.
Morey is an idiot, could have gotten Wiggins for Simmons...that ship has sailed. Dude is a two way beast now.

2750731, this dubs team is official. Posted by Reeq, Sat Nov-13-21 12:16 AM
i was wondering what they would look like against the better teams in the league since the record was kinda padded against some hamandeggers.
but yeah...this team is built really well and can blow out anyone if they are shooting well.
and that d? its crazy that it will get even better once klay comes back.

When it was around 57-74 Dubs, I joked that they'll fuck around and take 74 this year if the league is gonna be what it is. Buddy looks at me and honestly says they're good for 55 at best. Told him I'll wager a $100 bottle of wine they do SIXTY ONE if he thinks 55 is the cap and he went broke boy on me. Again, I hate betting, but barring a Steph ankle roll Kerr's boys are my boys this year. Steph gotta show this league it's not all about two way forwards.

The Warriors' success is not all about Steph either. Steph has a two-way forward on his team too even though some people don't think of Draymond that way because he doesn't score a lot but he facilitates the offense and allows Steph to focus on scoring.

came back down 19, with the refs up the Celtics' ass, in a game where the Cavs were held to NINE POINTS in the 1st quarter. Schroeder was KILLING the Cavs.
No-called that Tatum push off late.
WHO ELSE BUT E&J!!! GARLAND! RUBIO!
Cedi and Windler AGAIN with quality minutes.
This team needs scoring and bad, but that defense is keeping them in games.

2750787, You guys got trees blocking the rim. Posted by allStah, Sat Nov-13-21 11:35 PM
Kyrie wouldn’t even be able to get to the rim with the twin towers on paint patrol.
I really think Boston has run Tatum and Brown into the ground. Those dudes went to the ECF three years in a row, and they have no help, and both had bouts with CoVID. Brown is out injured, and Tatum’s offense has fallen off the rails.

Having THT and Ellington back has been significant. Once Nunn, Ariza & Bron get back it will be fascinating to see this squad whole.

2750838, right today: 2 people in the ROTY conversation. Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Nov-14-21 05:50 PM
Evan Mobley and Badman Barnes.
everyone else lags behind them. Duarte is good. Suggs is looking promising. I'm not throwing Cade in the bushes until Detroit gets some shooters. Ditto for Jalen Green and the Rockets (that team is very bad, despite having a few good players)
but the IMPACT both Mobley and Barnes have had on their respective teams (which were in the NBA bathroom if not the toilet last season) is immediately visible.

all that athleticism really bothered the dubs on offense. and lamelo's ceiling... once he gets more consistent from three... damn.
even though it was sloppy, it was a fun game to watch.
two highest offenses both held to around 10pts below average speaks to how good both defenses were.
idk that gsw has that many people 'off' from distance too many times, but that's not a plea cop at all b/c CHA got a squad. gonna be interesting to see where they end up in the east.
on a positive note for the warriors, it's good to see kuminga getting minutes early and getting acclimated. hopefully he can become really impactful by mid season.
peace & blessings,
x.

2750859, If this is the DeRozan we're getting... Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Mon Nov-15-21 10:20 AM
...I'll definitely up my prediction to top 4 in the East.
26.1 PPG 5.6 REB 4.0 AST

2750895, Bulls on a back to back against the Lakers. Posted by allStah, Mon Nov-15-21 08:04 PM
I’m taking the L now. Caruso played close to 40 mins yesterday, and him and Ball worked strenuously on the defensive end, so they might be fatigued.
Yesterday’s game against the Clips required intense defense from the Bulls. I’m not sure they will come with the same energy tonight.

2750900, Ehhhh… Posted by Ryan M, Mon Nov-15-21 08:47 PM
AD will go off but this is gonna be a tough one. I think the Bulls take it. Honestly feels like we won’t get 3+ games over .500 until Brons back

2750904, the Kuzma/KCP/Montrezl trade should haunt Pelinka/Bron forever Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Nov-15-21 09:32 PM
I fucking love this Wizards team. Comeback win tonight vs Pels all on the backs of the guys we got back for dumping Russ.
Tommy Sheppard could win GM of the year between the Russ trade and the Dinwiddie move

2750905, Wiz are not even close to healthy, but Wes JR can coach!!!! Posted by Castro, Mon Nov-15-21 09:37 PM
They are organized and they don't panic...play smart ass ball.

2750909, so does russ not make his teammates better? no agenda. Posted by RandomFact, Mon Nov-15-21 10:08 PM
dude has been in the league forever and this seems to still be an important question with no consensus.

2750910, They were gone regardless. Posted by Ryan M, Mon Nov-15-21 10:10 PM
Westbrook might not turn out to be a good move but IMO the Lakers are probably less than .500 without Russ and with Buddy.
Trez has been unplayable in the playoffs for 2 contenders.
Maybe give it more than 15 games

2750912, This dude Tony Bradley is a big ol negative out there Posted by RandomFact, Mon Nov-15-21 11:13 PM
i never want to heat a bulls fan bitch about vuc again.
|
2750915, Agreed, but in Bradley's defense... Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Tue Nov-16-21 12:01 AM
...they're asking him to do a lot, stuff outside of his skill set. They're running some of the same plays they had for Vuc, who is a much better passer and playmaker.

2750914, welp, knew the luck would run out Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Nov-15-21 11:23 PM
Allen was out, Mobley had to leave early, Cavs were playing the end of the bench and still had a chance to win the game.
Boston is ASS.
this stretch is gonna suck: Nets x2, Suns again, and the got damn Warriors.
I'd feel good about ALL of that with the full team.
but the Cavs can't screen for shit without their bigs. Might actually have to see some non-garbage time Tacko LOL
Rubio that dude, though.

2750916, Yo. These Bulls are clowning in this 3Q. Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Tue Nov-16-21 12:04 AM

2750917, This is some amazing stuff. Bulls are on a back to back Posted by allStah, Tue Nov-16-21 12:21 AM
and looking fresh as a garden salad out there. We are running circles around the Lakers. Ball came out and set the tone with his defense and shooting. He is the anchor piece, and his defense on Anthony Davis has been amazing (when he guarded him). This guy can guard 1-5. He plays just like Pippen at 6’7.
I expected the Bulls to be flat and tired, boy did they wonderfully surprise me.
If Coby can emulate Lou Wills coming off the bench, our offense will be beyond explosive.
Derrick Jones, jr. is having a coming out party! Billy always finds his goon.
Los Angeles Bulls! majority of the starting lineup is from Cali...They playing at the crib. Lol
