I recently joined a Pick'em League with my local sports talk radio show (EL Paso) and the person who has the most picks wins $1500. I believe it's on a weekly basis but I ask:
If you have a chance of winning $1500 and your team loses, or vice versa, what'd you choose?
I thought the $1500 was an obvious choice but apparently their team (Cowboys) was more satisfying...
I was clowned on because apparently I'm not a "true" COwboy fan. I recited Chazz Palmentieri's (sp?) line from "Bronx Tale"......"Mickey Mantle makes $100,000......"

Still, $1500 is clearable in what, 2 weeks of work? That's less than a paycheck for someone who makes like 60k/year...a championship memories are worth 2 weeks at a job.

Spend it on a chip. Only team i'd consider it for is the knicksand still no.
Give me the loot.
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

money, I blow that in a couple of months at bars and other bullshit. I'd easily pass that up to see another Laker title or a Rams SB win. I would think about the Cards because they just won a couple of years ago and that $1500 could be a nice trip to Vegas of somewhere, lol

I can really throw a couple upgrades to PC, murk a couple bills, buy a couple toys & show a couple lady prospects a good time out to some nice restaurant but.. the Eagles getting this whole tri-state region wilding out & squished up all along Broad Street would be a religious experience that would only be topped by me if I ever get married/propose to a jawn or having a newborn kid.
It doesn't COST me $1500, it's $1500 I didn't have before so I'm no worse for it. Nevermind $1500 one time won't change my life. But another Super Bowl? Oh yeah, I can live off of that for a MINUTE.
