Obviously not the same guy he once was, but man, hate to see him go if this is true.

http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2013/0318/561267/top-wwe-star-future-in-question/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook

As noted earlier, Rey Mysterio has been dealing with lingering knee issues, and recently feared that he had torn the ACL in his good knee. He was told by Dr. James Andrews that he wouldn't require surgery and would be able to wrestle with the help of a special brace.

On the Wrestling Observer Radio show this past weekend, Dave Meltzer noted that while Mysterio is "officially" slated to return in June, he may not return to action in the company at all.

"The official company line on Rey Mysterio is that he will be back, hopefully, in June... after rehabbing the knee," said Meltzer (props to Sharon Glencross of The Bleacher Report for the transcription). "But he may not be back at all. And it's not retirement, but there's something going on... there was stuff going on that they were working on perhaps a release, but they want merchandising rights... but officially he'll back in June."

For what it's worth, Mysterio is listed on the "events" page on WWE.com for the Monday Night RAW following WrestleMania 29 on April 8th from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ. He is also listed for the RAW WrestleMania Revenge Tour in the U.K. in April. However, it may simply be a case of the listings being outdated.

I haven't watched regularly since 2003.
But from 1995-2003 Rey was incredible. Has to be one of the best workers of all time. He's been doing this professionally since he was 15... he's 38 now. Even though I don't watch anything but a few matches a year, I'd hate to see him go out. But better this way, while he can still walk.

His match with Eddie Guerrero from Halloween Havoc is my favorite match of all time. Some years back, I showed a friend who despises wrestling and even he said that was pretty dope.

And he did it in some capacity every where he went. WWE, WCW, and while he was in AAA.

It was his work in AAA that got him noticed to New Japan, and that led to his famous exhibition match with Psychosis at New Japan's J-Crown tournament in 95, considered by some to be the greatest wrestling card of all time. That led him to ECW, where he tore the house down with Psychosis again, which led to him signing with WCW, which completely changed the entire way wrestlers work now. And in WWE he became the 2nd biggest draw behind Cena and won the World Championship, something that wouldn't have even happened a year before he actually won it.

Mysterio is a bonafide Hall of Famer and one of the most influential wrestlers in history, and that's with virtually every single physical attribute going against him, particularly when he started working full-time in the U.S.

While I think Cena's taking some kind of PED, Ryback looks like he eats roid sammiches as a regular part of his diet.

I noticed the hell outta that when they showed up a few weeks ago.

I won't have shit negative to say about either one of them for a while though...cheetos be damned. I saw them in person at a TLC in Houston a few years ago...their thigh thickness situations and overall bodies where so much better than I figured from seeing them on TV. I was wrong...allll wrong. I've loved the hell out of them ever since. Not Layla love, but love. Whichever one Cena was getting during that time, he won.

They had a chance to save face on a HHH retirement after last years mania and then they went and ass fucked it with the COO storyline, then the Brock storyline, and now Brock II. I'm a mark for Paul but it's hard to give two shits about him now.

And it almost doesn't matter what they throw out there at this point, Mania's going to do numbers based on the fact that it's Mania

But sheesh, this shit is painful to watch, and that's not some "insider opinion" bullshit, that's as a person who's just watching

thank god that LeBron game was on or I would've tapped out on them a long time ago.

I mean everybody but Punk and Cena in these main events is a part-time celebrity. I'll give it to Taker, I'm a mark. But why should I fucking care about the Rock or Brock Lesnar or Triple H? What a dogshit gameplan, booking big names with the sole intent of doing dollars rather than ever actually stepping back with a five year plan and trying to develop some home grown superstars who can carry the torch tomorrow.

Yea yea yea I'm gonna order the show, it'll be good, I'll like all of the matches I'm bitching about. Save it. It doesn't take away from the fact that these people appear to just be wandering in the desert on a weekly basis. It's the least inspired product they've put on television in 20 years and I don't even think that's a subjective statement anymore.

But gotdamn, you've got one of your main eventers in a match against a half of a jobber tag team, featuring a dude wearing an afro wig for no good reason

And you've got the guy who's challenging the big streak playing football with a fucking urn for 4 minutes, then dropping it and saying "shit"

And you've also got a highly underwhelming stipulation for a match after some healthy buildup

It's almost like Vince is daring us not to order this shit

In response to Reply # 36

like it probably gets giggles backstage so they thought it'd be a good idea to put it on television.

I just hated EVERYTHING about that show last night. I hated the way the Punk/Taker back and forth just ended like a wet fart. I hated the afro grandpa thing. I hated Hunter just assaulting Heyman just because he can (heel shit), then there being no physical confrontation between Hunter and Lesnar when apparently these two HATE EACH OTHER SO MUCH but not enough to touch each other. I hate wasting a Big Show face turn and I hate John Cena expressing no really earnest sense of urgency only 20 days from what is supposedly the biggest match of his life...which, to Cena's credit, is mostly a result of what I hate the most.

Above all else, I hate what Rock is and what they're letting him do. I am so ready for him to just go away altogether. I'm ready to stop watching these bullshit video packages that make no one's dick hard. I hate watching trailers for his juvenile movies that I'll likely never see in my life. I can't stand any of it and the sooner he goes away the better. He's the corniest and most overrated commodity in the company and I'm ready for him to not only leave right now but to stay away for good.

Who's behind these guys? I don't even care who they push to the moon at this point, I'll take anybody. I hated Cena for years but now I at least appreciate him and view him as a credible main event babyface. Just give me anybody, Sheamus, Ryback, the big black dude from PrimeTime Players, anyone. Please just give me someone homegrown who I can see in the main event on a consistent basis who will work regularly and will work hard.

In response to Reply # 0

I'm a Harlem Heat mark and I loved Booker prior to his WCW world title days. I was pissed when they made him Rock-Lite and I wasn't fond of of his WWE iteration by and large, but I always maintained a high level of respect for his work overall. I was always pulling for him to get that main event push, and even when I hated how they wound up doing that I was still happy for him.

That said, I want a DVD now, complete with a legit doc and not merely a match anthology.

In response to Reply # 0

Like I get that the big matches on the card were already planned before they knew he was coming back for this run. But there's no reason they couldn't put together a good mid card feud with him. I'm sure he'll have a match, but at this point it's too late to give it any build at all. Nobody will care about his match, and that's a waste of a return because he's still putting on great matches and getting great reactions from the crowds. He could've had a really good mid card feud with a number of mid carders they have that also aren't doing shit at the moment.

Why tease the feud during Rumble if you're just going to put Dolph in a TAG MATCH of all things?

And have Jericho putt-putting around with Barrett and Miz?

Dolph was salty that Jericho was back and then.....nothing.

Jericho often has great feuds, it makes no sense to have him do nothing for 2 months, and then maybe get him a little feud a,couple weeks before Mania.

Only 2 more weeks, right?

And given that Jericho has lost damn near every match he's been in since he came back(last years run too), how much will it really matter if this guy beats him in his debut match?

I am really, really worried now. The shows after Rumble (and EC too) have been great, but these past few weeks have made NO sense whatsoever.

Why are they letting Rock continue to disappear?
Why doesn't Taker have a reaction to Punk's disrespect?
Why is Triple HHH retiring for the umpteenth time?
Why does Dolph give a flying fuck about the tag titles? (And I love Big E, but why does he get a match at Mania while there are plenty of other actual tag TEAMS that deserve some shine? And why the fuck can't they give Dolph a win over someone substantial, instead of Dolph vs Kofi for the millionth time?)
Why did they tease Ryback vs Henry, reverse that for one week on Smackdown then immediately revert back to the original plan?(Cold Truth you called it)

There are so many things that don't make fucking sense, even within wrestling's already twisted logic. I'll be going to WM29 for a bachelor party and we spent a fuckton on our seats; I'll be heated if this shitty build continues.

Edit: And where the fuck was Cesaro?

58. "Is Vince to blame here?"
In response to Reply # 55

I am currently blaming Vince. Allegedly he freaked out and made the folks who put stuff together change up the undercard from the original plans recently (last few weeks). Now we are two weeks out and some of the best wrestlers on their roster have dick going on.

Meanwhile, they waited around for Taker to say "yeah...I'll do it, but I won't be in great shape so I'ma need to hide in a jacket and be sure to not say or do anything of note. And I'll still eat about a 75% HHH heyday amount of TV time and make Punk carry the whole thing even though he has NOTHING to say but 'fuck yo streak, fuck yo couch, and fuck yo urn'".

And even though The Rock is the fucking champ, he's still making guest appearances, and he can't even be bothered to randomly come out and People's Elbow Cody Rhodes on Smackdown after getting insulted about not having awesome facial hair or something.

And HHH vs Brock is STILL basically a 'no one wins' situation..they are both part-time mofos who aren't giving a rub to any full-time cat when there's a small catalog of folks who could use it. Something like Brock vs Henry (Get Slim Thugg to remake his song into 'Like a Hoss' for Mark or something) and HEEL HHH vs Goldbe...um...Ryback would be better for me. Or HEEL Orton trying to retire the hell out of HHH via whatever safe but oversold transition move Orton and WWE come up with. Something other than what we have right now.

AND

Add me to the people screaming 'do something with Jericho, dumbasses'. He CAN'T get stuck with faaaandaaaaanggoooooo, could he? Jericho doesn't even have a random broad for the dude to roll up on and compliment/grope/try to take. It'll be a waste for that reason alone. Dammit WWE.

What is American Dragon's good match-having ass doing this year? Stuck in a tag title match with Kane vs Buff Koko B. Ware and Dolph (who should be doing something better than this). Dammit WWE.

Amazingly questionable. But shit..I'll be watching the hell out of it and hoping for the best.

It REALLY sucks that Dolph is gonna end up getting the title in a way that is beneath his current level of awesomeness. Hell...I GUESS he's getting the title!

I gives zero shits about Del Rio vs Swagger...this is a random mid-summer feud. Swagger is clearly just being fed to ADR in hopes of exciting Mexicans at WM who are assumed to be 'missing' the Bynum-esque and barely ever clean Rey Rey. They couldn't just set him up to have a good ass match with a heeled up Jericho, get Tito Santana to show up and cosign him/teach him the Starman elbow, and go from there?

Random wish: Mark Henry and *insert available big dude of your choice* (Ryback) merge to become the Japan-style monster American team...kicking everyone's ass, doing random 'we are both strong and mean people' moves to smaller guys, and creating some kind of real tag team title angst/heat/attention. If there was a 'shiiiit...nobody is beating those dudes' thing going on, at least tag title matches would have something to them and 'lost' faces could make excuses to come together and try to take them dow...nevermind...nobody at WWE cares about making the 'other' titles important anymore. I miss the days where I was lied to about the 'other' titles being a big deal.

I agree with every single fucking thing you said... like, I wouldn't change a word.

And even though I was defending Swagger before, something about that feud got stale to me. It might be how unbelievable ADR is big upping America now or something else but yeah... I'm not excited. At least Jericho made Swagger look good on Smackdown, but not sure if that will translate to ADR and Swagger looking good.

And yeah... the belts. Stroud explains it best here:

Worst: WWE Is Just Trolling Me Now, Arent They

Wade Barrett is the Intercontinental Champion. Because of this, he gets put into a series of non-title matches against guys who are seen as better than him Sheamus, Randy Orton, etc. and he loses them. Cleanly. Usually in only a few minutes. He has these EVERY WEEK, sometimes three or more times (on television) a week, and when he gets a chance to be in a movie, the people who MADE THE MOVIE spend long portions of their show having better wrestlers Sheamus specifically, even though hes not involved in a feud with Barrett whatsoever talking about how unimportant Wade is. Still, he retains the Intercontinental Championship, and that tricks you into thinking those losses is whatre devaluing the belt.

But nope! What devalues the belt is that when Wade DOES have to defend it, he KEEPS it. This is the chance where you go okay, we dont like Wade Barrett, lets give the belt to Jericho or The Miz, have Wade lose his regularly scheduled loss, cut YOUR losses and try something with somebody else. Instead, they put Wade over in the ONE MATCH OUT OF TWENTY with the goddamn belt on the line. The cycle continues, and next week Wade will lose to, I dont know, Big Show or whoever, and keep his belt.

So whats the deal? Why does this happen? Why give him the belt? Why have the belt at all? What does it mean to you? Do you WANT it to mean something? Why are people competing to hold a championship held by a guy who loses 20 times more than them? They havent mentioned shit like increased pay or increased visibility in years. This is the company that puts John Cena matches on after its WWE Championship matches. Why have belts at all? Darren Young could be doing what Wade Barretts doing right now and nothing would change. Absolutely nothing. No difference in match quality, ratings, t-shirt sales, nothing. Youre wasting money AND a belt AND television time AND a wrestlers talent AND the talent of OTHER wrestlers who could hypothetically do something interesting or compelling or important with your secondary championships with no positive results. What is wrong with you. Stop it.

I'd like to think that in five years we'll have main event guys we've watched grow up via slow-burning carefully planned programs, a healthy tag team division, secondary titles that are actually privileges and not props, and women wrestlers who might actually not make me instinctively go to the kitchen (this is an under reported storyline. When people talk about just how bad the product is they rarely mention the Divas stuff, meanwhile 5 years ago I actually enjoyed a Trish Stratus/Lita main event.)

I'm not kidding dude, save for CM Punk and maybe the Kane/Bryan team I hate just about everything going on right now.

that was as good as the Women's division had been in WWE in years. That whole Trish/Victoria/Molly ... even chicks like Kandice Michelle and Joy... what's her name.

I would actually watch that. Now, I think that they kind of just bullshit a lot of those matches, even though I pretty much like most of the women on the roster.

Though (I forget what they called her in WWE) the Awesome Kong acquisition was BASURA

granted, part of that might have been ill-fated timing on her part but it was a typical "WWE signs wrestler from other fed, then nothing happens" thing.

I really don't think WWE gives a SHIT about any of their titles, or their product. or even giving lip service to this.

>The problem is he's against Cena who NY is also not fond of.
>

looking at this from the POV of a dude who hates the "SuperCena" booking but not Cena himself, and has no context of why "The Rock" is supposed to be great

The Rock clearly *is* the heel in this scenario

and John Cena has been eating his proverbial shit for the better part of a year. There's no reason for Rock to keep the belt, either (which is one reason why I hate this matchup but I digress).

I mean, you would WANT Cena to win.

(part 2 of this is that I really feel Rock is in "Wizards" Jordan mode right now... his promos/timing are off. He can't adjust to the "PG Era" and his rants used to have AMAZING context. He just seems to be on the outside looking in, rather than the inside looking out, which is understandable considering he has a new job.)

What I'm hoping happens is Cena plays the role of Rock in Rock/Hogan I @ Wrestlemania X8, and ends up like Stone Cold Steve Austin in Wrestlemania X7.

The problem is, there is NO one thing that Cena could do other than exist on screen to be hated. He doesn't even have any sort of anything going on with other wrestlers. I can't even tell you who he's feuded with besides Rock in forever. Miz? or one of the midcarders?

There's no one that could run in and "cheat" for John Cena (though if that happened...that would kick ASS).

I have a feeling like this really should be like the Rock/Hogan matches but it just isn't gonna play out like that.

WWE hasn't screwed the pooch on a WM like this in a while. Maybe we end up being wrong and this card ends up playing out better than it reads cuz everyone works their asses off and the booking works. Maybe we end up with a bottom 10 WM...this would be brutal considering that Haitch and them have put together a helluva roster with a catalog of experienced dudes who can work, talk, get heat, and carry characters and storylines.

I don't see how the match doesn't go in the 'Cena can't put the Rock away' direction. It is just a matter of how they go from there after 20 minutes to Cena getting the win. Having him take ANY kind of shortcut could be a GREAT lead-in to a summer of Cena FINALLY turning. Problem is...I can't think of any faces they'd trust to be on the other side, so it probably won't happen.

This is a good a time as any to say that I think the WWE WANTS Orton to do something truly stupid once and for all so they can stop being stuck with him on their roster, having to use him, but not having enough faith in his health, his wellness, and/or him throwing a broad down some steps on a Wednesday to really put him into an important program. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

The last things I remember Cena doing was eventually NOT 'embracing the hate' with Kane and having good as shit matches with CM Punk with some silly ass storyline...I think it was some shit about 'I want to be the champion because I know I'm the best..and if nothing else, I know I'm better than you no matter what anyone else thinks..bitch'. AKA that Ric Flair/Steamboat late 80s wrestling cuz we are wrestlers shit.

is based mainly on milking nostalgia from the attitude era while those guys are still alive. WWE also thinks they can still make money on him.

This theory has legs cuz he can at least KINDA still go in the ring, he's big as shit so he 'looks good' in the ring up against the current guys. Compare that to situations in the past when the previous era guys got to a point where we had to tell ourselves a lot of lies to believe they were supposed to be still in matches with younger dudes, having their dated offenses being sold, and winning with finishers that had become transition moves if that.

Add in that from about 1996 to 2008, US wrestling was filled with psycho high spots (damnit Hardy Boyz!), ouch suplexes (see what you did, Benoit! Effin Kurt! We shoulda never shown them those All Japan Best of the 90s compilations!), chairshots (damnit Foley!), prop moves galore (remember when every main event or big shit match had a 'break the table' spot...damnit Shane!).

With that, Hogan, Flair, and most of the other 80s guys were all but screwed in that environment with their chops, random slams, legdrops, slow-cook submissions, and 'wear you down over the course of 40 minutes with glorified rest holds' tactics. I remember Hogan having to do powerbombs through tables to win matches late in the WCW run. Damn. I'm happy you can do an armbar without the crowd getting restless nowadays.

Besides that wrestling 101 type stuff, Rock's currently a celebrity and special attraction wrestler who is eating TV time from full-time dudes while also hogging a title, exposing the fact that titles are storyline props (and that the WWE's current writings are NOT wrestling people). His 'celebrity' is supposed to be drawing folks into watch more WWE, but the fact that he's not interacting with anyone other than Cena pretty much negates that. Add that he isn't on every Raw and yeah...pooches screwed. Brock's half-ass schedule and being hemmed up with 'I don't even really be wrestling anymore' ass HHH...same thing...ahhh...dead horses...

Like rappers have done since Jay made it lucrative in the mid-90s, saying 'hey y'all..folks don't understand..I'm effin great!' and having other voices generally agree is another thing that has made the Rock, HBK, HHH, and Taker all legendary and valuable.

Back to the 'what has Cena been doing beside waiting for the Rock': I forgot about Cena getting his ass kicked by The Shield for a little while too...but that was lumped into the 'CM Punk is scurred that he can't keep beating Cena so he got his heel game tight' storylines.

He was also almost creeping but not really creeping with nerdy fine AJ Lee (who I'd love to have gonzo sex with all through my house). Turning real life into a storyline cuz of Cena freakin all da honeys backstage? Awesome.

not the TNA, "HHH 2.0" type Kurt Angle
even though he is cool.

but the Kurt Angle people were ashamed to admit they actually LIKED. the dude who was just so damn... WHITE and "patriotic" and goofy... but would whoop that ass.

I still remember that botched spot where Angle was supposed to suplex Shane McMahon through the King of the Ring glass, effed it up then he did it again.

And yeah. Rock is supposed to remind you of those times, but I just don't see it in anything he's done in this latest feud. When we used to watch him on TV and sort of stood in awe in his sheer assholia (we used to call him "The Cock" back then, because that's exactly how he acted), laughing all the while... it was like he was like a superjock given a microphone. This from a guy who was getting "Cena"-ish negative reactions everywhere he goes.

Cena himself was getting that when he first started the "rapper" gimmick in earnest, going up against Brock Lesnar. Then it turned into a "hey, you know, this guy is actually someone I'd like to watch in a match" thing. And years later, we have SuperCena.

The thing about Cena is, you KNOW he gives a fuck. He even changed his finisher for a minute because he even felt that glorified Fireman's Carry he was doing wasn't "cool" enough. I wonder if WWE ever got on his case for modifying it into that "Yebisu Drop" type move from Day of Reckoning 2.

Above you referenced that feud he had with Punk. That was cool. Punk was the perfect modern foil for Cena, in a way different than Orton (his natural foe) is. I think Cena actually shines in feuds like that, not-so-great booking aside.

Amen...Kurt was the shit. Automatic good matches. He REALLY helped fix the WWE main event style and build up the 'punch punch, early finisher reversal, move, move, punch punch, move through table and/or weapon, crawl around a little bit, punch punch, reversal, oops pow surprise finisher..goodnight' style. It opened the door for more people to be capable of having good matches with one another via the whole 'telling the story' method. HBK/Taker at WM25 for instance (bad example because HBK was absurdly good and that match was epic)...simple shit like Michaels getting to the point where he was WILLING to take a countout win only to be like 'shit!' when Taker beat the count. Now that they've added experienced dudes with full movesets, it SHOULD be on!

I love the 'everyone has to have some kind of submission' thing that they stole from All Japan. And just like All Japan, a couple main guys have lame submissions that should never work (*looks at Cena*), but still...it works for allowing guys to get some rest late in matches before going into some physically impressive finisher sequence.

I'll never forget that breaking the glass with that suplex/murder attempt on Shane...killing Shane was like Vince's secret wish.

Day of Reckoning 2? Damn I miss the days where I took time to get into those games. I played WWE 12 but downloading CAWs was so unreliable and slow that I lost interest. You could have some good ass matches with the computer though.

You are dead on about Cena. Most of the time, the booking is the problem with him. In the ring, that mofo is now like neo-Hogan: gold workrate-enriched edition. If not, he at least deserves to be considered a greener but stronger SCSA. I think the road agents/match guys are back there building better matches from the jump, but Cena's a fucking hoss out there...easily better than the Rock during his day if for no other reason than the WWE style being better now.

I just went back and rewatched the MiTB match from 2011. Even with the teased screwjob finish, the flow of that thing was incredible. And I love that they've both been bringing back throwback elements from each other (the abdominal stretch in the MiTB match, the freaking PILEDRIVER on Raw a few weeks back. . .).

They fucked up a few months ago, and now they gotta make another effort to promote it, so he may have been forced to just talk about that. Wrestlemania is still a couple weeks away, still time to promote that.

Also I've heard even non-wrestling fans say "I heard he's back in Wrestling." or "I heard he's the champion again." so it's kinda promoting itself to a degree.

to give WWE the third of their four biggest ppv buyrates in wrestling history. And this one could be the biggest one ever.

Next year, he'll do it again with Brock Lesnar.

And you think WWE is complaining about The Rock not mentioning on a late night talk show? Please.

I have no idea about PPV buy rates, so I'm honestly wondering. Wrestling isn't nearly as popular as it was back during The Rocks actual wrestling career. So how is it that these PPVs are doing better?

It has to be that folks are paying more for PPV. Shiiit, WM in HD is like 70 bucks now. I swear it used to be about half that much (no HD) 10 years ago.

In response to Reply # 86

No matter what goes on during the year, people will watch WrestleMania. It didn't used to be like this until the Attitude Era (in fact there were years were WrestleMania wasn't even WWE's most watched PPV), but everyone considers WrestleMania to be the super bowl of pro wrestling.

They make a whole week of it now, with not only WWE events, but just about every indy federation in the U.S. will do a card within it's vicinity. You've probably got about a dozen or more wrestling cards that happen on WrestleMania weekend and they draw the biggest crowds of the year for those companies too.

And they're getting both record buys and record revenues this year. This year's WrestleMania will be the most expensive, as WWE hiked the price up for every country. In the U.S. it's as high as they made it for the year Floyd Mayweather faced Big Show.

Punk and Taker WILL deliver, because that's just what they fucking do.

We all groan at Brock/Paul, but a No Holds Barred match is precisely what we DO want in a match with these two.

The Shield has a match, and they've been money every time out. They're facing:

-Sheamus, who NEVER has a bad match and in fact always has a damn good one.

-Orton, who even though many of you groan at, is perfect for such a match because anyone who has paid attention to his career would know, is at his best when things are personal. Oh, and with a heel turn being imminent with him, there's the chance they pull the trigger on it here or at least tease it.

-Show, who has had nothing but a bunch of perfectly executed feuds and matches for like the last 9 months.

I will be shocked if that doesn't deliver.

-Ryback/Henry won't quite be what we wanted Goldberg/Brock to be, but it will be a solid match.

-Dolph/Big E and Bryan/Kane. Does anyone really think this match will be worse than "pretty good", with two performers who are generational in ring talents, and a great big man in Kane? Big E will probably deliver too.

I guarantee the first three of those matches will be excellent, the 4th will be solid, while the 5th will be "pretty good" at worst.

Then we have Del Rio, who has good matches, vs Swagger. I think we'll have a good match with some interesting spots with Ricardo and Colter. I also predict a Dolph cash in. This will be a solid match at minimum, though it might well over-deliver.

I don't know what else is on the card aside from Rock/Cena, but all they have to do is do better than last year and they're straight. If they do what Dr Claw and I want them to do with this match, it'll be absolutely awesome. If not, well....

The WORST potential match on there is Del Rio/Swagger! That's a strong ass card.

Yes, the WM build went from great to WTF in like two weeks time, but who cares about the build when we're watching the event?

I understand the fears, but that's one of the best cards in recent memory. If we get the NOA vs Rhodes Scholars or a great Jericho match or Soda Popinsky vs anyone, hell, that's a nice ass undercard.

Based on the card itself, I predict this will finish in the top ten manias, and it could go higher.

In response to Reply # 85

Everything you wrote has strong legs to stand on. The actual wrestling SHOULD be good, but we are all looking at a crazy group of active wrestlers with a nice stack of 'special attraction' cats and thinking that it could be better laid out. And that is pretty much IWC 101 right there...rearrangement booking from the laptop is what cats do sometimes...

Outside of Taker/Punk, I'm not in love with what is happening with any of the special attraction cats. And I'm still bitching about Taker taking 6 minutes to come to the ring only to stand there like a jackass while CM Punk tries to sell the match by himself. At least I expect the match's story to be dope cuz they ARE both amazing. Taker comes out pissed and Punk is Freebirding it up to try to survive the early storm. Taker IS old and raggety, Punk knows it and eventually takes out a knee or something and tries to wipe him out. For a while, things look bleak but Taker goes all 'this is my streak..MY STREAK..fuck this shit...*old school Hakushi rope walk*'. Taker has been barely winning the last couple years..I expect this one to be more of that. I originally called for Punk to win, but nevermind...

I'm probably kidding myself about the Rock/Cena too...to WWE, their setup work is done so they are basically taking knees until the match. Rock can only say 'I'm gonna beat you...again..*look around at crowd for effect for 12 seconds*..I'll be back in three weeks..if you smell what the rock is cookin...'. Cena's only response is 'well played, Dwayne..but I'ma win this time...cuz...well...cuz that is the way this should go. I'm here EVERY WEEK..you part-timer! Cook that!'.

I don't know how much we are overreacting. Maybe the concern is really revolving around how they aren't setting themselves up for goodness during the summer, fall, and beyond with what they are doing right now. But maybe they're just gonna rake in the Mania money, see who they have available afterwards, push a few of any of these guys we are bitching about the most (Dolph, Daniel, and The Shield), and expect it to work out since they can all wrestle. Sounds like a HHH-style plan that may work. Then, Rock can show up in July to talk and smell the air only to get his shit rocked by Brock and boom, it's on for Rock's 4rd WM guest appearance tour. Taker will go off and eat more cheetos and wait until his phone starts ringing in January to get back on a stair master. Or buy a bigger jacket. By then, Punk will have had a 3rd or 4th outrageosly awesome summer and fall feud with somebody and we'll be fine. And Cena could be doing strong as shit dude matches against Sheamus or a heeled up but NOT really strong as shit Ryback.

I still want a Henry+strong dude monster tag team. That shit would work! And it would keep miles off of Mark. And the tag titles would matter cuz they'd be going around hurting folks and winning matches. And Miz, Kofi and them would have some meaning behind their bumping and jobbing in between selling t-shirts. Damn...I just figured it out...they are gonna do Henry/Kofi as a heel team...

WWE is smoking crack rocks. Now I really don't feel bad for streaming other PPVs throughout the year. I don't think they realize some folks would actually buy them every month if they weren't $55 a pop, no ones trying to add that to their cable bill every month....

He was getting X-Pac heat but since actually did something other then dance with his chick. So him and Jericho will have an 10 min match at Mania. The fans really hate him tho. I'm an fan.

The fact that he brought his still unnamed valet along.

The leap over the ropes.

Jericho was absolutely right when he told Fandango AUDIBLY and LOUDLY on camera to not say a word

The attack was enough, he didn't need to say his name

And yeah, I know, his name is his thing, but the attack was enough

He's doing heel shit the right way. Being pissed about folks not saying his name properly? Bwahaha...love it. He's the new Rick The Model Martel mixed with a little Rick 'Is that yo chick' Rude. He's also sneaky huge. And that top rope leg drop was video game level. Or at least agile cruiser level. I'm pulling for him to be a solid wrestler who gets over. At least Jericho will make him look good in a couple Sundays.

Rock was spitting lava on that mic... Cena has went so far past the line of corny it's impossible to want to hear him speak, he used to actually be sarcastic and even witty, not it's just terrible high school football coach cliche's. I will say, him repeating Mcnabbs name a few times made me laugh though, I was just pissed Iverson was not mentioned as well.

It does seem like they are going to let Cena win this match though

i actually liked cena's demeanor throughout the promo and yet him still getting rock bottom'd.

he's set up well here to finally do the turn. i just don't know what heel element he'd align with, since y'all are talking about the WM 17 finish.

because Cena (since turning face) has been all about the clean win.
he has been a sort of neo-Angle, without all the hilarious sanctimonious, moralistic BS (and of course, without most of the entertaining wrestling). or maybe he has, but it hasn't been that grating (at least not in the same manner).

his bits on Monday night against The Rock made me think they're really, finally going to do it. Cena will win, but it will be a desperate, do-anything, even-cheat win.

137. "When did Punk complain about that?"
In response to Reply # 136

If anything that was Cena's schtick going into last years WM. All Punk said to Rock was that he was glad he's back, and when he does show he'll kick his ass.

During a radio interview with Mark Madden, that's when.

pwtorch.com:

>Punk noted he's angry about not being in the final match at WrestleMania and he's frustrated by part-time wrestlers coming in for big paydays, which fuels him to keep pushing forward on the year-round schedule. But, he acknowledged it could lead to burn-out.

"I'm the only guy who says this - ya know, Miz will go out there and be like, 'It's great having these guys back!' and blah blah blah because I truly believe he thinks he has to say that," Punk said. "The honest reality of it is you bust your ass for 365 days a year and there's other people who come in and they don't work as hard, but maybe get paid the same amount of money. So, me as a businessman, it just makes me look at it and go, 'Okay, that's the deal I need to get. I need to get the deal where I work 15 dates a year.' You know what I mean? It makes me work harder, but, dammit, it's going to burn me out."

In response to Reply # 138

I believe more recently Punk said he understood it's business and it's what's best for business, at that. Don't think he really cares that much at this point. Dude had the strap on him for over a year, he doesn't have much to complain about.

They were supposedly the most vocal opponents of The Rock's part-time return but have since chilled. My guess is they saw how much bigger those checks from WM 28 were from any other paycheck they'd gotten to date and figured they'd better STFU.

In response to Reply # 0

http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/Reid_Flair_24-Year-Old_Son_Of_Ric_Flair_Passes_Away.html

Reid Flair, the 24-year-old son of legendary wrestler Ric Flair, has been found dead, PWInsider.com reports Friday.

Details concerning his passing have not been disclosed.

With his background, Flair was hailed as future wrestling star dating back to high school as he was an accomplished amateur wrestler who achieved numerous awards. His career, however, was sidetracked in 2009 due to a slew of personal issues, including an arrest that found him in possession of black tar heroin.

Following a hiatus from the squared circle, Reid made his in-ring debut for All Japan Wrestling in January, replacing his sick father in a tag team match due to the WWE Hall of Famer suffering a blood clot in his leg. Last month, Reid competed in All Japan's Excite Series tour, wrestling undercard tag team matches. On March 15, Flair wrestled his first singles match in All Japan, causing Yasufumi Nakanoue to submit with the Figure Four Leglock. He was scheduled to make independent appearances in Maryland this weekend with his father.

And I'm not talking about the stupid angle at the end of the show. The HHH/Brock angle was excellent, with HBK building up how ruthless and disrespectful Brock is, and Heyman coming out to knock the home run out of the park. I love it when Heyman insults Stephanie and HHH, and every time he does, he really pushes the envelope with it. Heyman has done the best work in building any of the angles and matches for WrestleMania.

But Cena had a lackluster promo. We saw 3MB vs. The Big White Vipers last week, however the Shield promo was decent. Bryan vs. Ziggler was nothing special; it was mainly done in order to get over Big E, but I'm still not interested in this match. Barrett vs. Ryder was a waste of time because nobody cares. I do like how they have the camera closeup on Mark Henry's back during his entrance, and they did try to build the match with the no contact clause, but it didn't work for me (and on Smackdown those were some fake assed weights).

And the Punk/Taker segment at the end of the show was beyond horrible, and I think Punk knows it. None of these cheap heel heat tricks over the past few months has gotten Punk more over than what he is, starting from Jerry Lawler returning from his heart attack. Hundreds of thousands of viewers according to Nielsen turned the tv off that night and the overall ratings really didn't recover until Rock came back. There's a difference between being a heel villain and just being low class and cheap.

On top of that, this is just a lame angle all around. They haven't given a reason for this to even be a match other than Punk winning the four-way and the things they've been doing over the past few weeks simply comes off as cartoonish and tasteless. Punk and taker better have one helluva match, or this will be one of Taker's worst WrestleMania failures (Gonzales, Boss Man, Mark Henry, etc) esp when you consider the potential this had.

This is basically a two match show with Brock/HHH (which will probably be the best match on the show with HBK interfering) and Rock/Cena, just to see if they'll have a better match than last year. I have some interest in Fandango/Jericho just to see if Fandango can hang with Jericho in the ring, and I wonder if Ziggler will try to cash in, but the rest of the show is just filler.

A lot of injuries over the years. He looks way older than his age.

And Punk has had less than stellar matches with Taker as well as others before. And considering HHH/Brock will have weapons, I doubt Punk and Taker will be able to use them in order to mask Taker's lack of ability like they did in the two matches with HHH.

We'll see what they come up with though.

That guy's website, Wrestling Tidbits, was awesome. And that quote (he took that big from a larger quote on his main page) was probably the most profound explanation of why someone was a pro wrestling fan that I've ever seen.

But yeah; he needs to be in this thread, if only so I can discuss the revival of New Japan Pro Wrestling with someone.

I initially came for the "show", but became much more interested in the "art".

and I actually prefer Japanese "sporting" type wrestling. Even when you watch someone generally considered to be bullshit (Hogan) on that stage, pro wrestling takes an entirely new dimension. His matches in NJPW were crazy good in comparison.

The build has been iffy in most regards, but the show WILL be a fantastic one.

I'm willing to eat the crow that will come if it isn't, but the actual matches will deliver without fail in most regards. This WILL be a great Mania.

Since I'm willing to eat the crow, I also want the props for seeing what many of you aren't.

Oh, and Doc, I'm pretty sure that Cena promo is a sign that Cena's iteration of 97 Bret or WM17 Austin is on the way.

I'm going to have faith in WWE for once to do the right thing with this and make Cena finally snap after holding in his frustrations all these years.

But yeah... This shit WILL deliver a quality show.

I've calmed down a bit. This SHOULD be at least a good Mania.

They've gotten Sweet T (eye roll) and Funk on the show with the fine wrestling sisters and the Bella Twins for the light moment.

They've given us the 'Cena is gonna crack y'all' promo that we all seem to want. The Rock has said 'candy ass' 7 or so times in the last month and GI Joe got watched so his work here is almost done. Now, he's gotta go out there and get his shit kicked in by Psycho Heel Cena. I'm thinking 'hurt folks' Orton style...Cena will make 'I'm crazy now!' faces before throwing people off of shit they shouldn't be thrown off of while announcers freak out and it will be great.

They've done all they can to paint a 'Punk can win this...really...he can!' picture even though we all assume he's taking a major ass-kicking this Sunday for all of the urn disrespecting.

Swagger is getting another semi-push in order for Del Rio is excite Mexicans while they try to find another other Rey Jr. Okay...I'll play along...arriba.

Hossathon 2013 with Henry and Ryback is set up well too. I hope Ryback doesn't drop Mizzark. Cuz then I'll say 'that's what he do'.

Haitch vs Brock will be physical as shit cuz they both wrestle part-time..well..that's not awesome, but whatever. They'll go away in a week after trying to kill one another for 20 minutes while Paul E does something great.

A hot valet, top rope leg drops, score cards, AND heel dancing from Fandango (Rick Martel 2013) warms my heart. He's making the super jackass heel faces that I love. And Jericho is gonna go out of his way to make him look awesome. It reminds me of The Maestro from WCW. I loved that too because hating cats like that makes too much wrestling logic sense to not work as long as the guy can go in the ring.

Oh...and (nerdy fine) AJ, Buff Koko B. Ware and Dolph are gonna ride on their eneMIES! And Dolph is going to upset Mexicans with a shady and awesome heelish MiTB cash-in on ADR. And Rhode Scholars works too.

That's a lot of should be good shit for one show. I'm in now and I hope you're right. And yeah...you were ahead of me for seeing it all coming together and calling us out for going too deep into innanet bitching to be bitching mode. Fingers crossed and ready to go.

But if this was the same card on any PPV not named WM or Summer Slam I probably wouldn't be able to care less. Rock/Cena I don't care about storyline-wise, I'll just watch because of the marquee names. Same goes for HHH/Brock. This is the least excited I've been for a Taker match in over 5 years, and the WHW match is a solid midcard match at best.

Plus, half the card has been thrown together in the last few weeks. What happened to WM being the culmination of big feuds? Fandango/Y2J, Ryback/Henry, Funkasours/Scholars have been bitter enemies for what, 20 days?

They used to do that all the time, even in the Attitude days. I'm glad that they're doing it again, at least this one time. It's actually gotten me out of super-analytical mode and gotten me into being a fan wanting to see Punk get TOMBSTONED STRAIGHT TO HELL.

Bret Hart mentioned how much Paul would have enjoyed the fact that he was still working, after death, and I really have a hard time imagining Taker himself going through with the angle if he wasn't absolutely certain about it.

Lifelong wrestling guys like Paul Bearer...if you had said to him, a week before he died, "when you die, can we exploit your death as a work?" He probably would have said "yes, PLEASE do." If it puts asses in seats, it's the right thing to do.

said WWE got their permission for it initially, but they seemed uncomfortable with it once they saw it on tv. Looked way different than what they were led to believe.

And even then, it doesn't matter if Moody would have been good with it or not. It was in poor taste. Chavo Jr. was fine with Eddie's exploitation (in fact, word was that he wanted to take it to another notch) but it didn't make it right.

Yeah, and that story has since been updated, as Michael Moody said he was "fine" with the segment.

HOW does that not matter? I mean, you can reserve the right to be offended at whatever you like, but you don't get to dictate taste for anybody else.

To see Punk get his. And it didn't work.

In fact, with Punk it hardly ever works. It comes off as cheap and tasteless.

I'm sure, after someone got into his ear about it. He's still trying to get into WWE.

That's precisely the point; everyone else does dictate it, and stuff like this angle and Lawler's heart attack compels people to turn their tv off. That's the WRONG kind of heat.

>and remember it gets better.

WM IX. It is easily the worst Mania that could've been good that I can remember. 1 and 2 somehow get a pass because...well...they were the first two Mania. Shit didn't get real until the 3rd one.

The last 10 years of Manias almost always have at least one 'damn that was good' match. 27 might end up getting more hate as years go on. Cena/Miz mained it..Rock intervened and interfered as the 'host' of WM...whatever the hell that was.

During the apex of my free time and wrestling nerdness (1997-2004-ish), I watched all of the Manias in full and in order. 7 doesn't get enough hate dropped on it for my taste. 9 and 13 were just powerfully bad though. Of course, 13 had the epic Hart-Austin double turn match so folks are willing to do some forgiving. 14 had some matches on it but I remember sooo many folks hating the HBK/Austin match. The match should've been absurd, but Austin was working while recovering from the neck injury. And HBK was so roided, 'medicated', and hurt up BEFORE he tweaked his back during the match again...it is amazing he could even put on a match. And of course having Tyson was dope too.

Yesterday, I was cleaning out a room and closet in my house where I basically threw a bunch of random stuff when I moved in a couple years ago. My CD collection, 'movies' on VHS, old computers and video games and systems, wires, plugs, cables, all sorts of silly shit. In one box of CDs, I 'found' a Gamecube and 2 controllers. I forgot all about that joint. Wind Waker!

To my surprise, I also came across a gang of non-adult VHS tapes. Some old Raws, Texas vs USC 2005 (aka the Vince game), the BET awards where Rick James and Teena Marie came outta nowhere and sang Fire and Desire (and we got an amazing 'I'm Rick James, Bitch!' at the podium), Japan wrestling video comps (Best of Kobashi from like 2000), etc.

There's also a Raw Benoit vs HHH 1-hour Iron Man Match. Thanks the heavens that I was a decent tape labeller most of the time! I'm gonna watch the shit outta that sometime soon. And after that, I'ma find and watch the Raw/Smackdown combo where Benoit took on HEEL Austin twice. I firmly remember those two matches being THE shit. Benoit was german suplexing all over the place trying to win a title, and Austin was as good as he had been in years in the ring to try to make that heel run go until they could moonwalk out of it. I contend that Austin was a wrestling mofo. His brawlathon era makes folks forget that.

I'm clearly ready for Mania tonight. It is on in this bitch!

co-sign. didn't live up to the build-up. if not for HBK's back, it coulda/shoulda been great like the criminally-underrated clinic of a match they put on at king of the ring '97.

Word. It is crazy how matches like that just fade cuz of the show they happened on, the finish, and/or what happened after. I know I had forgotten about it.

That WM 14 main was probably months of folks hoping that Shawn would be good to go physically for the match..kinda like how Taker mania matches are now..except..with your MAIN DUDE AND CHAMPION..yikes! Add the need to get the belt on Austin as awesomely as possible to save/carry the company probably didn't help either. However, the outlandishly bad 1997 WCW Starcade main (aka Hogan/Sting with Bret showing up) probably had WWE folks at least a little at ease. That and the fact that Austin wasn't 100% screwed after the neck injury.

That era was a lot of dudes wrestling about 20-40 pounds heavier than they should've. And they were working hella fast too..especially when they were in the ring with someone who they figured they could 'go' with. The catalog of injuries should've been way longer.

The world was a better place with cats like Shawn working at whatever weight he was the last few years and not having anyone ask questions when a superkick won matches. He was out there looking like a big Steve Corino, but that mofo wrestled his ass off. That second leg of his career (aka the 2000s)...man...he's THE guy if you ask me.

Depending who you ask, breaking The Undertakers undefeated WrestleMania streak would either be the best or worst thing that could happen for WWE. On one hand, if Undertaker loses to CM Punk Sunday night, it cements Punks legendary status and will help the wrestling promotion earn more money in the coming years by featuring the hated heel who put the 1 in Takers 20-1. From a passing-of-the-torch perspective, its the right thing to do for the business.

On the flip side, Undertaker means so much both on screen and behind the scenes in WWE, that as long as he wants to wrestle, his streak should remain alive as its one of the true selling points at each years big show. Besides, Undertaker beating Punk also keeps open the opportunity for John Cena to challenge the streak at WrestleMania 30 (talk about a money maker).

But not so fast, as I had the chance to get CM Punks perspective on his upcoming match, his recent use of the piledriver, and where he sees his career headed post WrestleMania.

Heres what the controversial wrestler loaded with verbal pipe bombs had to say. Let the explosions begin.

ESPN Playbook: What would beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania do for your legacy?

CM Punk: I think it would do something tremendous for anybodys legacy. Some people get excited just because theyre wrestling The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but Im not really in awe of anybody I wrestle; Im here to beat him. Its one of the only things I can possibly do to top my career moment I had in Las Vegas when I cut that infamous promo.

Undertaker is known as the locker room leader in WWE. With him being gone for almost a year, who filled his role behind the scenes?

Im not really sure anybody could fill Takers shoes, and I dont think anybody is trying to, either. God help us all if Im the leader, but when you look around the landscape, theres really nobody else besides myself and John Cena. Thats about it.

The Rock took your title and broke one of the most historic championship streaks in years, then is too busy to attend every Raw leading into WrestleMania. Do you think its bad for the company when the champion isnt even on the show?

I do, yeah, but its not my company, so thats where we are with that.

Do you hope for a third match against The Rock sometime in the future?

I dont think its in the cards, but I wouldnt say no to it.

Paul Heyman is acting as an advisor to both you and Brock Lesnar. Are we ever going to see you guys join forces in a tag team?

Id love to. Thats actually something were discussing, yes.

How about a match against Brock? Is that something we can expect in the future?

I think that would be horrible for him. He doesnt want to fight me.

CM Punk isn't once to hold back, whether on the mike or in interviews with journalists.
Do you think fans appreciate enough all of the little things Paul Heyman does on screen that helps add to the atmosphere, like all of his facial expressions and the way he used to hold your belt high over his head?

I think the ones who are in on it do; and the ones who arent, they hate his guts. And thats his job, to get people to hate him.

As a fan, what WrestleMania match are you most looking forward to watching?

Fandango versus Chris Jericho. You probably dont believe me, but its true. I cant remember the last time somebody debuted at WrestleMania, and Fandango is actually one hell of a talent, so Im excited to see where this goes. Besides, its Chris Jericho. You cant go wrong with a Chris Jericho match.

How about as a kid growing up, is there a WrestleMania moment that stands out as your favorite. Maybe something that happened that made you want to become a wrestler.

I only got to pay attention to what other people were saying about WrestleMania because I didnt start religiously watching them until about WrestleMania X. Bret (Hart) versus Owen (Hart) is one of the best WrestleMania matches ever, so if anything made me want to become a wrestler, that match was it.

The Shield has debuted in huge fashion. What do you think of the potential of these three newcomers both as a team and individually?

I think theres huge potential for all three of them. Roman Reigns came in as a relative unknown, but hes more than pulled his weight. I think you can definitely see any three of those guys becoming a future world champion.

Looking at the WrestleMania 29 card, when the show is over, what do you think people are going to leave MetLife Stadium talking about the most?

My match. Im out to prove people wrong again. I dont think its a secret that I wanted to be in the main event at WrestleMania and I dont think its a secret that people are like, But youre in one of the main events, youre wrestling The Undertaker. But Im not one for consolation prizes. Im out to steal the show, and Im out to do the improbable. If Im able to do that, that remains to be seen, but well find out.

Your match against John Cena on Raw a few weeks ago was one of the best matches Ive seen this past year. I like how he busted out the hurricanranna and you busted out the piledriver it made the match feel special with these big moves. Can we expect something similar against The Undertaker?

Absolutely, especially with me. You never know what Im going to do.

Isnt the piledriver a banned move? Did you get in trouble for doing it on Raw?

I sure did.

How did the move get banned? Its something that has been in wrestling for years.

It has a bad history of injuries and accidents, so its better safe than sorry. Its really sort of not worth it, but I wanted to show that I was really trying to win that damn match.

Funny how doing a move that is banned ended up working in your favor and giving the match a more epic feeling.

Funny how that works out sometimes.

You were on the cover of WWE 13, and now 2K Sports is taking over development of the new game coming out this year. Is there anything youd like to see in the upcoming game that they werent able to capture in WWE 13?

Oh God, it will be interesting to see what they bring to the table, video game-wise. THQ always did such a great job. I cant think of anything that they need to add. Its always kind of creepy to look at myself in the game. Its almost like looking at still photos.

Im not sure about Undertakers health and if hell stick around much after WrestleMania, so after your big match this weekend, who do you see yourself feuding with next?

I would honestly love to tag with Brock Lesnar. If it was up to me, I would do that and take on Kane and Daniel Bryan or Dolph (Ziggler) and Big E., whoever has the straps after WrestleMania.

Me and my roommate are having a good 10-12 people to watch. Throw in $10 a piece and have a predictions contest. Winner gets the leftover money not used for the event. We do the same for RR as well, the rest we stream from the computer to the TV for $free.99

That 70 bones IS a brutal PPV payout. But it is an excuse for me and my lil brother to chill and goof off for a whole day. I've gone away from having WM parties similar to how I've avoided Super Bowl parties the last few years. To me, watching important football games with non-football people when there's no coochie hanging in the balance is...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXzquw4bi5o

Hell, even if there IS coochie on the line, if I'm all in on a SB matchup, eff it. It can just go sooooo badly.

The good thing with wrestling now is that it isn't 'cool' anymore. Aka most non-wrestling folks would NOT go to a WM Party. I went to WM 25 in Houston (aka HBK vs Taker 1 aka probably the best match of this era). Best believe it was on as hell. Solid seats too. I flat out lost my shit when Shawn kicked out of the first tombstone. I'm thinking of getting some support together so I can make it to WM 30.

was watching one of my streaming channels and they showed a commercial for the WWE live event in London later this month. They advertised the main event for that show being a six man tag match with Taker, Orton and Sheamus taking on The Shield.....

Pros

I really enjoyed Lesnar and Triple H. Triple H let Lesnar toss him around and Lesnar definitely connected with the elbow to HBK.

CM Punk not beating taker. I would have hated that mother fucker to be the one to break the streak.

The Shield i just like the action they bring to the ring. they are entertaining to watch.

Mark Henry winning by falling on Rybock. I like that they are gonna have the sell as Rybock being the new strong man but also not doing it at the expense of Henry winning a match.

Cons

Shit was 4 hours long and 2.5 weere completely forgettable

Rock V Cena, yeah i knew title was going back to Cena but man how they gonna let hime kick out of like 3 rock bottoms and two people's elbow or some shit and than he gets one reversal and you knew it was over. i kinda think the Rock deserved better than that

Sheamus, Orton and Show have to be 3 of the worst people you can put on a team together. boring as hell

I still hate Chris Jericho

Overall it was fun and hadn't watched in a few years, but damn the talent development in the WWE is non-existent. Once Taker, triple H and the Rock are done doing these PPV matches i don't think there is anyone left in the WWE i can actually root for. it's a shame. they should hold a contest to become a WWE writer me and some of my boys could have a lot of fun writing story lines. Did anyone else think Jericho sold the fake injury because he missed landing on Fernando's knee, i was surprised to see someone win a match by just a reversal. I think there was one other really clear miss a well but i can't remember which match.
