Nash look for his shot and help when Kobe's in trouble, Pau beast off the bench as their primary post-player/#1 option on the floor versus second units, the rest is gravy is those four fall in line.

Can they sacrifice individual concerns & put ego aside for the sake of the group?

Time will tell but the formula is glaringly obvious now.

They have no excuse to miss the playoffs & possibly make noise in them if they stick to that script.

The question isn't whether they'll stick to it while on this little win streak, the question was whether old habits, finger-pointing & bitchassedness resurface when they finally lose a game to a hot shooting team because they're never gonna be able to play perimeter D worth a damn.

If they're smart, they'll realize that ain't important as long as they stick to the core principles of what they need to do to win together on offense.

Btw, Herb needed a timeout during that 'bench' run with Gasol & Blake out there. He's got a young-ass team, they don't need to rest just because the Lakers first-unit is, that Rivers/Jason Smith trash is gonna get you run out the building before you even bring Gordon/Davis back.

you can do the math on their record when he shoots 20 or more.

"It could all be soooooo simple,
but you'd rather make it haaaaard,
playing with you is like a battle,
even teammates come out scarrred.

thing that is always applied to kobe and the lakers. It lacks no nuance at all. Neither does the 40+ ppg thing I mentioned.

The biggest change is Kobe distributing the ball the last 3 games. However, the unspoken implication on your part (as well as others who've thrown similar shot attempt numbers out over the years) is that the sole reason the ball isn't moving is because of Kobe. But you already know the drill. I'll just agree to disagree with you in advance. Because this is where it's heading.

What this team should do has long since been obvious and since Friday is being done.

14-3 now. Laker win streaks should equate to nice lunches. Bon Appetit.

less about shot attempts and more about the way the offense is being orchestrated. Saying "Kobe needs to shoot less" isn't the same as "Kobe play point guard and Nash play off guard" literally no one had that in the cards.

the second part was a serendipitous byproduct of finally doing the first part out of desperation at Game 40 of the season.

in the media just ignored the hell outta that common basketball sense most of the year.

Ball movement keeps everybody involved, and makes everybody pay attention. Less watching and more playing.

to net him even more titles than the five they did get over the course of his seventeen seasons.

Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly take the results but it's pretty easy to make that case.

is the best hand any elite two-guard has had in NBA history.

Played with like two wack rosters in seventeen years & was publically demanding a trade because of it by the second one.

That's taking nothing away from his skills as a player, it's just the reality of what he's been blessed with during his career.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so blatant and try some subtly with your dishonesty. This isn't even mad worthy, it's just laughable. Kobe has gotten roasted quite a bit and you're a liar if you say otherwise.

they battled back. This team is really overachieving just by playing hard every game. LA and JJ played great. Lillard has to get that fg% up.

while that would be nice, his TS is 54% -- higher than jrue's and waaaay better than westbrook.

He is a good decision maker, so even though he hasn't been shooting the ball too well, he made two big threes in the second half, and didn't shoot us out of the game.

I'm not discouraged. I'm more discouraged with LMA's shooting percentage, but he's been shooting a little better in the past week or two...

cuz he knew damn well Portland had NO BUSINESS winning that game. they played good basketball for *maybe* 20m out of that 48m game and still got the W. that was nuts.

the way the Blazers play real team ball makes this team fun win or lose.

He was mad at the refs for not calling 3 in the key (a legitimate gripe) but then he goes and just tries to force body contact and get a foul call on Nash...easy rebound, Nash 3, lead back to 6. Dude has to keep his head in that situation

That was the game right there. Kobe shoulda been called, but still it was only a 3 pt game. Gotta slow it down and let it go.

Cotdamn...up 1, Kobe surrounded in the paint and somehow finds EC for a layup to go up 3. Vasquez with a really bad force, Nash 3 and it's back in our control.

Give a team a team with some shooters some rythym, compound it with missed layups + turnovers, and you have what almost happened to us tonight.
