I sting from abrasions and lacerations mixed in with grease and diesel fuel Like blood and water in the United Nations Sticky, like a melted icey pop My skin, white but tan artistically colored with dirt
Now I look like a human zebra
I say these things so you can grasp my state of mind because I wanna tell you some truth of the hated kind
I can't love you, won't even try to You will never get from me ecstacy in its various intracicies and interfaces See, I went through all my internal databases and deleted all of those emotions faces I'm stuck in a variety of places representing a compromise between content and miserable The downs aren't so damn bad without the ups
I have been called a coward, slinking in the shadows, hiding from myself Lurking outside the window to my soul tapping on the glass like a stray branch in a night's wind but it isn't fear that dictates my actions You just don't excite and comfort,
You Don't Challenge Me
I clearly have command and in love I do not want the upper hand I was hoping for more, but...
I can't love you, won't even try to Does it make me sick? dunno... but I know that -I- do.

You're right -- but some WHITE folks here in Texas use the terminology "Farmers Tan" for just a crisp, brown, all~over tan -- as opposed to those folks who don't "tan" well at all -- and just turn RED all over ... and peel badly! --
