Some of ya'll know I'm the host of the PTP Horror Podcast Get Out The Room with SankofaII, Phenompyrus, Roadblock, Spades, and CTKarl. We're about to have our first interview of a film that hasn't come out yet. Its a movie called the Black Dahlia Haunting and we're going to get the cast on to do an interview so we're getting better.
I know The Long and Late guys are doing new and bigger things, so I'd love to hear what they've got coming up.
We know BigNick is doing great things, but I want to know what ya'll are working on. We family in here, we're not in competition i'm trying to blow everyone up. If there's something that fits into our genre holla at me and we'll get you on!

Juggling between writing and drawing these days, just trying to get my weight up and figure out my lane creatively.
Been writing and drawing stuff for Mad Magazine for the past year or so, which has been awesome. Working on a couple self-published/indie comic titles as well, one of which has gotten attention from some pretty cool people. No deals just yet but lots of really exciting meetings. I feel like my partner and I are onto something with that one. Either way I love doing it, so it's a win. Also writing pitches, treatments etc for music videos which is a fun thing I never expected to be doing.
Depending on how some of that other stuff plays out, there's a few other things I wanna try my hand at in 2013. Itching to take a shot at screenwriting and would like to participate in some sorta art show at some point.
Thanks for starting up this post by the way. Lots of cool, talented people here and I'm eager to know what everyone's up to as well. Been a while since we did one of these...

might be two new 30/30 projects, but they only really into one right now. the other seems to be a tough sell for them. whatever, i'll take one.
also working with a prominent black journalist on media coverage and the black athlete. this we cannot take to ESPN, because my man has already said it ain't happening. ESPN write some of his checks. half of the project will cover ESPN's influence on the perception of black sports figures.
also putting together a doc on what what it means to be young and black in america right today. i remember seeing "tongues untied" when i was very young and its influence on me has increased exponentially as i've watched my niece, nephew and god brother, all gay, grow up over the years. i worry about them and i've learned a TON from them. i find their lifestyles fascinating. i guess like a suburban white kid find gangsta rappers lifestyle's fascinating. that's all i can relate it, too. it's completely outside my reality. like, seeing what "gay" is on a daily basis has made me incredibly sensitive and enlightened about a rack of shit.
i don't work on scripts as much anymore. them shits not rewarding.
and a g-town basketball doc got stolen from under my nose and me and k-badd pretty bitter about it. i can't go into detail, but blood thicker than 'tegrity.

I'd love to sit down and have that discussion about gay in america from the outside in. I've always had close relationships with gays folks, my uncle was gay and he explained things to me about his lifestyle and I saw shit, but it never scared or turned me away from him, he was my guy. I miss Uncle John to this day. It really broke my heart when he died of AIDS in 1990. Opened me up to a ton about AIDS and the life of a gay man at that time, especially in DC, throw in the crack and I was eyes wide open. Changed my view on a lot of shit.
I never viewed his lifestyle as alternative it was just another type of relationship if that makes any sense. Anyway Good luck with that shit, its not easy watching younger kids with your own preconceived notions and shit and having them either live up to them or just completely blow them away.
Obviously I want that 30 for 30 to win. I know you said you've given up a lot in the past to make something like this happen so i'd love to see this come to fruition without you having to cut your xfinity off to get it done.
I'm excited to see what you've got in over homie.

Young, I know what you mean, January is getting away from me right now.
We've got this interview cmoing up, plus there's a ton fo movies lined up that I want to get to and put out before we get backed up and the movies become irrelevant so i'm grinding the guys pretty hard this month. Whenever you get some time, just holla at me you know you have a standing invitation.
I bet those stories those young kids be telling you can blow you away from time to time .

Humorous fiction. Gonna put it out as an e-book on Amazon. Waiting for the copy editor to send it back so I can touch it up. And I found a dude to do the book cover for me, cuz after a few months of trying to teach myself Adobe Creative Suite, I realized I can't draw for a reason and my shit was looking like a 3rd grader did it.
I might put out a short story before that for the cheap like $0.99.
Also writing working on the first draft of another manuscript.

Currently writing (in collaboration) a short film that we hope to have rolling in the summer.
Messing around with Pro Tools, hoping that I can learn enough (and get assistance) to feed some beats to my rappity rap friends.
I podcast irregularly, and have spoken to some back in the day hip hop rappers/producers about doing interviews. I hope to get that done this year.
Also some writing that I've been on and off with. I'm hoping completion of the above listed projects will build a creative momentum where I can finally sit and hammer out the following:
Participated in NANOWRIMO and failed, but came up with some solid pieces for what I hope will be a good children's novel.
A couple of screenplay ideas that I have got no further than simple outlining.
So, nothing really serious. Just "you know, let me try doing this..." creative challenges for myself.
i'm not revealing too many details right now but we're opening shop in March its basically going to be a quarterly series of one-shot comics by different illustrators and artists. if anybody wants to submit anything, i'm accepting submissions for summer and fall deadlines in April and August, respectively.
each artist will have one web page to do whatever they want with. since most of them did simple vertical ones, i had them all work at about 900px wide. here's a rough, unafilliated example of the format. http://www.comicsaredope.com/JamesHarvey/
this is a project i've wanted to do for some time. right now its mostly a platform for me and my friends to work out material but i have no idea where its gonna go. hit me up if you wanna know the schedule and/or participate.

Findlay Prep, home of Boston Celtic guard Avery Bradley, NBA lottery pick Tristan Thompson and UNLV standout freshman Anthony Bennett.
Been shooting it since I've been in Vegas, but this past season has been the best. It's where we truly found our voice for story telling (and it was shot in HD..ha ha). Been trying to find a sponsor so the episodes can come out more frequently.
Believe me I've been sending out promo/sizzle reels to anyone who might be interested. I've since learned that you can have the hottest reel on earth, but without getting the right introduction to someone that can make something happen, it's falling on deaf ears. We're still working on it.
Kabongo was always a good interview while he was at Findlay. I try to keep relationships going with the guys after they leave Vegas. Some stay in touch, others don't. *shrug*

My boy does all the illustrations in MS Paint only (like he's some kinda purist). Picks something random, and then I come up with a short story, song, poem etc to match.
Just goofing, but we've gotten a good response so far.

cable network. Don't really want to divulge the name on OKP (for a variety of reasons), but let's just say my work involves both news/information work and entertainment work.
I was originally hired to do news-related graphics, but I attended a meeting and they asked "who can do Flash?" Being on contract at the time and wanting a full-time spot, my hand went up. So now most of my work revolves around show launches, of which there are going to be _dozens_ this year.
By night, I do freelance multimedia work. Video editing, motion graphics, graphic design, logo design/branding.
And, I suppose when I should be sleeping, I'm developing a web series, after putting it on the backburner for years until I saw the onslaught of Negro Internets Shows. This may be entirely a shot in the dark, but is anyone interested in possibly collaborating?
