Its a science fiction, Afrofuturist Musical written by a poet that was originally a stage piece.All that considered its a pretty amazing film that deliberately goes against american film conventions because its audience is broader than that.

I’m very familiar with Saul’s work and I know the work started as a stage play/musical. But that doesn’t change what was on the screen.
