I've finally worked out how to transfer my old random and rare-ish stuff from Itunes on to Spotify...

Things I really missed:

* De La Soul's catalog (Patti Dooke, I Am I Be, Pass the Plugs, Stakes...)
* Pain by 2pac which I used to have on the Above the Rim tape (but wasn't on the CD version!)
* Kendrick's Cartoons and Cereal
* Jay Electronica's What the F*ck is a Jay Electronica mix tape
* All of Blu's many many mix tapes
* GraveDiggaz - 6 Feet Deep
* Mos Def - The Ecstatic

No doubt you've got some favorites that you can't find on there

Please share them here before I (we) forget that they ever existed!

It took a bit of time but now I have them back in my pocket

A few off the top of my head:

Cormega - Born and Raised

I really hate when an album is on there, but some of the songs aren’t on there. Some of Aziatic and Beanie Sigel’s - The Reason aren’t there - just a few I was listening to recently where I noticed it.

So many mixtapes that were essentially albums aren’t there. Big KRIT just recently had things replayed on his mixtapes so he could put them up there, but it’s just not the same. Thankfully I’ve got those on my phone already.

...aren't available on any streaming service. I guess the Cold Chillin' greatest hits is on streaming, because people gotta hear "Just a Friend" somehow. But the full albums aren't.

Did everyone toss their hard drives or whatever that they had ripped and/or downloaded music?

Luckily, Google Play allowing uploaded mp3s gave me a 3rd copy of basically my whole hard drive of music, so the soundtracks, Frankie's badass mid-90s R&B album, random 90s remixes, anad that type of stuff is covered as well as my CD collection and dl'ing game would allow.

I think I have everything posted. 213 (both the leak and the released album), Murder was the case (need to listen to that), Pain, Cartoons and Cereal, multiple different Jay Elec mixtapes...all of that type of stuff.

I'm having a hard time with some of the 2010 - 2015-ish mixtapes. During that time, I was starting to stream more and rip less. Before that? Yeah, I pretty much have all of that stuff from when I was buying physical copies and ripping them to the drive of jams.

And you’re right. We’re getting older and our window of listening to music just gets longer and longer, so there’s definitely things that can get forgotten unless someone else brings it back to memory.

I came here to post that one because last I knew it wasn’t on there, but then figured I’d double check just in case and sure enough it’s on there now!

This album was released in '98. It is a compilation of remixes of electronica and drum and bass songs of the time.

Some of the songs are available as looseys scattered across random compilations or albums. But the album itself isn't available.

It's worth putting up on the net for the remix of Heroes by Roni Size. The original is a bit sad and melancholy (which I like). But the remix adds life by making it somewhat danceable. It becomes a different song.

It's on the New Forms 20th anniversary edition. Check that out, it's got a whole section of all the remixes that came out around that time. My favorite besides Heroes was the Nuyorican Soul remix of "Watching Windows."

K+D themselves put up a playlist that has a few of those remixes, in addition to their other best known work like Tosca and Peace Orchestra.
