Cecil Womack and Linda Womack wrote it, David recorded it in 1980, later that year Teddy recorded it but made it his own. Later Womack and Womack recorded it in 83 resembling Teddy version. Actually everybody who covered it after Teddy resembled his version. Teddy version is the best but David Oliver was the first.
