"Is "Bigger than Hip Hop" the origin of Dubstep?"
I am at a club right now where they played this song right after a Dubstep set, and I never thought about it, but this song sounds like it damn near inspired the whole genre. I know Timbo (joked? And) said he invented Dubstep, and his old late 90's bouncy tracks do sound like they may have had some influence, but Dead Prez's track sounds even more like it.
speed garage / breakbeat techno / old school jungle / etc all helped evolve garage / 2 step which gave the offspring of dubstep, just an opinion of course

I have been thinkin bout this shit for like 3 years.... lol.. I would say that it was... but I dont kno what was goin on in the UK at the time... (Grime I think)
Dub, jungle all that shit tho.. has it's roots in reggae so thats the OG everything

the original styles of Kode9, The Bug and them are undeniably 2-step rooted and bear almost no resemblance to what the majority of folks call dubstep today.
