general reception between the two in here is mostly based on Big being one half of a group with four classic albums & coming off a solo record that was easily one of the best rap albums of 2010 while the other is Game.

see, that would make sense if the game complaints were actually referencing WHO was featured.
most of them weren't. they were critical of the features per se, in and of themselves. a lot of "why does he need a guest on every song?", "can't he hold a song down by himself?", etc.
don't see the same thing going on here. or for that matter, w the roots albums which also tend to be pretty feature heavy.
just an observation.

Also,
I think a lot of us are expecting Big Boi to pull it all together with the Big Boi/Outkast sound somehow. He has set the bar that we feel any guests will only enhance what is ultimately HIS music.
The Game is known for sounding like his guests which actually takes away from him as an artist.
But I get what you are saying. They are basically doing similar things.. Collaborating with several hot guests. It's just that Game is collaborating with his peers in the rap game who are hot and have their own thing going on. Big Boi is collaborating with a lot of artists who are hot to the "Pitchfork" crowd. The effects are similar, but the demographics are different.
It remains to be heard which is more effective or not, but I think it's safe to say that around these parts, Big Boi has the better shot.
