"Poll question: Are you worst at typing than you were 10 years ago?"
i have noticed i definitely am. my job requires a lot of proofreading so i have always paid a lot of attention to this. lately i have so many typos in emails, texts and posts. a whole word missing, for some reason adding an s or ed where it makes no sense.
i even miss a lot of typos when i see posts. when i go back to them i will sometimes find them and im surprised how i missed them the first time.
1. "No but I am worse at hand writing stuff" In response to Reply # 0
It feels so foreign to actually hand write something now. Usually its just some hastily scribbled note at most. I can't imagine writing a whole letter or paper by hand.
4. "What's gotten worse is my handwriting" In response to Reply # 0
With all the time I spend typing on a keyboard or my phone, I almost never have to write on paper any more. If I need to fill out a form or write a note I can barely form the letters. It's like my handwriting muscles have atrophied.
My struggle. When I review notes from work meetings, I am left befuddled by how lazy my hand can be. Makes me sad 'cause I received lots of compliments for my dope penmanship in K-12.

and i was already a speed demon on the keyboard before. my handwriting is back to kindergarten levels though. i hardly ever have to write anything for work unless its notes for myself
9. "like using a superlative instead of a comparative adjective" In response to Reply # 0
just playing but yeah, my typos are at an all time high. partially to this wireless keyboard i use, and partially due to my over reliance on auto correcting software tools. plus, i never look at the screen as i type, always at the keyboard. i have a mental block.
12. "the good thing is i dont generate copy" In response to Reply # 11
im just proofreading as an extra service. the customer provides all the copy, i just gotta make sure i dont delete anything lol
if i catch something then theyre always happy i caught it. if i dont, its on them, especially once they sign off. unless i generate the problem.
with that said, when it comes to my actual work i will reread things plenty of times and look up anything im unsure about.
i used to be so careful with my emails and judge folks for typos. nope now im constantly typing thnak you and such. i usually catch it before i hit send but some typos do escape.

Took over 30 years, but at some point I've really learned the entire keyboard. I can find almost every letter and symbol without looking or even thinking about it.
