If anything....the family members 'backed out' didn't they? They said they would go and then for some reason couldn't.
So the way it should really go down is they get the tickets regardless if they can buy them or not (cause they made the initial commitment) and give the ticketbuyer the money for em. Then THEY try to unload somewhere....keeping whatever profit they get.
The key....is that whoever finds a buyer should keep the profit. As long as the initial ticketbuyer was re-embursed. You're right....it wasn't specified who found the buyer.
whoever wanted to go could have, there was no set agreement other than "if you want to go, I have tickets"
some people who initially wanted to go cant go now
3 tickets are left, the original buyer's main concern is not losing the money they spent
If they were $150 a piece and I sell them for $200 a piece, the $450 goes to the original buyer. now do I pocket the additional $150 or give that to them as well?

If I buy a ticket for you but you can't buy it and then I offer it to someone else that's all me... if you got the hook up for the profit then maybe some of it's you... plus you're hurting since you could't co[p the ticket anyways so yeah I might throw that bone.

they would have asked if they wanted or needed a cut. if not you're not morally obligated to give them a cut. if you think they need the money or would appreciate it, then you can give them a cut if you want to, but it's not immoral not to.
