12907866, how did you get the tickets?
Posted by luminous, Tue Oct-06-15 03:29 PM
did you buy them from the person who originally bought them?
12907869, you were asked to sell them.

12907888, wait. The family memebr planned on making a profit from family
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Oct-06-15 04:02 PM
and friends?

what type of family... lol.

I would keep the profit just cause...
12907891, no.
Posted by atruhead, Tue Oct-06-15 04:07 PM
hypothetically:

- My mom purchased tickets for $153

- She planned to sell them for exactly that much and not a penny more

- I sell them to a stranger for $200

of course mom gets the $153 back, who gets the $47?
12908054, you keep the profits
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Oct-07-15 08:08 AM
but I could never keep all the profits from my mom or dad.
12908134, oh with that break down, i'd split the profit with my mom.

12907880, Ticketbuyer gets profit.

He took the risk. It was his initial investment. He found the buyer.

Why would anyone else get money?
12907890, brokers who help sell other peoples property get fees all the time.

Also the story says the ticket owner isn't the party who found the buyer.

12907908, The way i read it.....
Posted by denny, Tue Oct-06-15 04:50 PM
If anything....the family members 'backed out' didn't they? They said they would go and then for some reason couldn't.

So the way it should really go down is they get the tickets regardless if they can buy them or not (cause they made the initial commitment) and give the ticketbuyer the money for em. Then THEY try to unload somewhere....keeping whatever profit they get.

The key....is that whoever finds a buyer should keep the profit. As long as the initial ticketbuyer was re-embursed. You're right....it wasn't specified who found the buyer.
12907940, again, no
Posted by atruhead, Tue Oct-06-15 06:32 PM
x number of tickets were bought just because

whoever wanted to go could have, there was no set agreement other than "if you want to go, I have tickets"

some people who initially wanted to go cant go now

3 tickets are left, the original buyer's main concern is not losing the money they spent

If they were $150 a piece and I sell them for $200 a piece, the $450 goes to the original buyer. now do I pocket the additional $150 or give that to them as well?
12907941, you're selling for the orig. buyer.... get paid.

.
12907918, if anything is relevant it's who arranges the sale for the profit?
Posted by PG, Tue Oct-06-15 05:10 PM
If I buy a ticket for you but you can't buy it and then I offer it to someone else that's all me... if you got the hook up for the profit then maybe some of it's you... plus you're hurting since you could't co[p the ticket anyways so yeah I might throw that bone.
12907943, The profit is your fee for selling the tickets

As long as that is understood from the beginning.

they would have asked if they wanted or needed a cut. if not you're not morally obligated to give them a cut. if you think they need the money or would appreciate it, then you can give them a cut if you want to, but it's not immoral not to.
