Yall got that same energy for Hillary?

This seems mad petty, and very telling that THIS is what she comes down from the cabin for, but not all of those issues she said she believed in more than Sanders.

...something about many of those people accusing others of being "Bernie Bros" and losing the election for Hillary.

It was all projection. Hillary and her supporters were always about THEIR agenda, and not what's best for the Democrats or the country. Now that tides have changed it seems like they are still doing the same shit, but with a changed script since no Hillary this time.

I thought the goal was to get a Dem in the white house?

Why I stay away from politics. People into that shit are mad transparent, but will stick their fingers in their ears and scream at you whenever you see right through their bullshit and they want their way, or don't get their way.

Burn 'em all.

in the primaries, especially if you consider that the ultimate goal is to get Biden in there.

With Hillary taking this angle, and Warren on Bernie so sexist, all they are trying to do is split that progressive vote. The primaries honestly is the only place that she could say this, especially right before the Iowa caucuses. She couldn't say this in the General if Bernie was the nominee.

In response to Reply # 63

They've been doing that for decades (as has China, Israel - and several other countries). We do it at a far more aggressive clip than any other nation.

So I agree - what Russia did is a big deal. Where I disagree is in saying that this entire election in 2020 boils down to U.S. v. Russia (which was the claim). That kind of hyperbole isn't helpful - and I'll always push back against it.

that Trump is the worst politician of all times!

And that policies matter, but not as much making sure Trump isn't President.

And that they need to be adults and hold their nose and vote for whoever the candidate is!

I mean, that is the point of Blue No Matter Who right?

but I could vote for another candidate or third party again if neither of the 2 parties have a candidate that aligns with my interests. I am no longer interested in blindly voting for the people based on colors or affiliations. Plus, you're right, she's not running for President, but she has plenty of influence over her supporters, as she should. Just saying when she WAS running for President, her message was hold your nose and unify, but now since she doesn't stand to directly benefit she doesn't see that is a priority.

It’s about weighing your options, and making a decision based on those options. At this moment, every single Dem option is better than Trump, so I will vote for whoever gets nominated. Trump is dangerous, I want him gone and I don’t think a third party vote accomplishes anything.

Considering that she ran in 2008 on her "more than 30 years of public service" as a way to say that Obama was unqualified. And that in 2016 she ran on the idea that all of the good ideas during Bill's presidency were originally hers.

You can't say the same thing for Bernie. So again, what exactly should/can he do to "corral" them ? Serious question.

It’s not hard to say please stop calling my friend a snake. I appreciate your passion and support but that’s not necessary or helpful if we want to beat trump.

I mean it could be conveyed any number of ways.

U ridiculously invoke trump here where there have been countless calls for him to condemn his untoward supporters and countless times he’s declined too...same thing.

Bernie made a statement condemning zephyr’s comments about Biden...sooo

Anyway with all that being said I still have a favorable opinion overall about Sanders. And would be fine voting for him.

Bernie bros, on the other hand I find rabid and repulsive, if you are one of them I find you rabid and repulsive 😉

Or at least (as far as I know) nobody has reported it.

She made the comments in an interview for a Hulu documentary, but there were multiple interviews going back to August.

The story is coming out now because the initial screenings of the documentary have begun. Hulu chose the timing for that, not her.

Not sure who you’re referring to - but I (and many others) have repeatedly said that I’d vote for the eventual nominee - regardless of who it is.

What’s peculiar is that the lionshare of your posts (and many others here) are directed at tearing down Sanders at every opportunity you get. Not much to say about Pete, or Biden (whom you were once on board with), but for Sanders? All the smoke.

How about you try to advocate for you who you’d like to see be the nominee. Make an affirmative argument for why you think somebody other than Sanders should earn the nomination instead of sounding like endless record of Clintonian critique.

The endless attempts to denigrate the candidate who is emerging as the strongest option to topple Trump is beyond counter productive - and Bernie ain’t even my first choice.

Hope you can feed all the farm animals with all that straw.

I called out Clinton because she was on record as refusing to commit to voting for Sanders should he be the nominee.

She later walked that back - as she should have.

But if you haven’t heard people attempt to disqualify Sanders as a candidate simply because he’s “not a real Democrat” - then you’re just not paying attention.

>criticizing a candidate is...what the primary process is for

Precisely - yet when there’s legitimate criticism of Warren or Biden - it’s “oh no’z the Bernie bros are being negative and mean!”

But when Sanders is dragged relentlessly it’s all of a sudden just apt criticism.

Be consistent.

ive shit on pete and biden plenty. i was once on board with bernie too (conveniently left out). bernie supporters are 10x more obnoxious and destructive than the others tho. so they get called out more.

You've admitted that you're one of the most vocal critics here of Sanders - so let's top pretending like you're even keel with your criticism. You're not - you go way harder to tear down Sanders than any other candidate. You also have supported Kamala, Beto, & Biden throughout this process - and have been pretty transparent in your distaste for Sanders. Let's just be honest.

>i was once on board with
>bernie too (conveniently left out).

That was 4 years ago. Since then, you've been a very loud critic of Sanders.

bernie supporters are 10x
>more obnoxious and destructive than the others tho. so they
>get called out more.

That's wholly subjective. Of course they are going to rub you wrong since you are not a supporter of Sanders and have adopted the same talking points of his most ardent detractors. He also has infinitely more passionate and committed supporters than any other candidate - which is absolutely a positive. You want a candidate with the kind of dedicated, committed, and passionate energy that Sanders supporters bring to politics. That's how you build excitement going into a general election.

Barely anyone was excited about Clinton - and that's a big reason why she lost. But I guess we should just take your advice and repeat the mistakes with a Biden nomination.

If you look at the Sanders/Warren post - there are far more instances of me complimenting Warren than you complimenting Sanders - by a wide margin. Further, I advocate for the candidates I support pretty demonstrably - while you just relish in never-ending criticism. Who are you even supporting?

And lol at referring to the CAA investigative reporting as "conspiracy" -- really rich coming from somebody who still is peddling RussiaGate lunacy ad-nauseum. They couldn't even bring an article of impeachment on anything Russia-related after 3 years of wasting tax dollars on the Mueller report - but you're still in here peddling junk conspiracy theory. Have fun with that.

But I’m glad you essentially admitted that you don’t critique any of the other candidates with the same singular focus that you do for Sanders. Now we are getting somewhere.

Still in the race and they each have supporters... according to Bernie bros it’s a two way race between Biden and sanders, oh wait I think that’s been updated to say Bernie is the clear front runner now with 27%

Anyway there is no sides here, Bernie bros just need to be corralled and controlled until the dem primary is over then they can be unleashed on trump (or vote for him, whichever suits their rabid desires) or be allowed to stew for another four years.

In the past couple of days I've seen the anti-Bernie bro contingent on here start leveling claims of 'Trumpism' at pro-Bernie posters. That's pretty out of line. Everyone uses polls that are favorable for their candidate. Everybody interprets headlines in a way that adheres to their world view. Nobody is inherently more objective than anyone else.

I feel like I'm watching people jump down eachother's throats (and getting personal) on here and a lot of it seems unwarranted.

And that's that Bernie has been the most predictable, and long-standing in his stances of all the candidates. The drop-outs, many of whom I liked, as well as a few remaining (like Yang who the Bernie-brothers hate), are Johnny-come-latelies and the demographic you spoke of elsewhere will fluctuate between them depending on their debate performances and campaign strategies. Who knows, maybe a well-timed hashtag will determine which candidate they favor for the moment. Many of these people are clearly going to vote blue no matter who. So we can set them aside.

Meanwhile the socialists are going to bleed for Bernie and will not accept a less-left candidate. Is it toxic? It appears to be online, apparently. Meanwhile the current economic, environmental, and societal state of the US is toxic and it's to a point you can't allow free speech for Nazis, free market reign without a middle class and investment in public infrastructure, and these ideas of liberalism continue to dominate our vision of ourselves as a country without racial and class equality.

This farce of an administration is only firing up this contingent and the reason it may look similar to MAGA is because people realize you have to fight those fuckers on their terms.

I think some conflation is creeping in because folks like Reeq and Vex have been going back and forth (mostly good-naturedly from what I can tell) for years on this stuff and have a long history of exchanges and arguments to reference in order to try to suss out inconsistencies in the other. So there are the posters here and then there is the voting public. Vex doesn't stand in for all Bernie voters. Stravinsky doesn't stand in for all establishment dems. Etc. This is a problem with the internet generally. An individual or a group of mobbing individuals irks us online and we get irritated and start generalizing in ways that don't necessarily hold true out in the real world. As far as understanding and connecting with humans, text-based exchanges like okp have a lot of limitations. Lots of talking past each other. Lots of needless furious typing to address perceived wrongs/errors that would be better resolved in a face to face interaction.

^all of this. I genuinely believe that if we all (well, at least most of us) were seated at a round-table, the conversations would be far more productive. This medium is a difficult one when it comes to trying to engage cooperatively - especially because there's such a tendency for people to take sides and perpetuate group-think by constantly labeling people's views as belonging to either camp A or B (and usually there are only two options lol - which is indicative of how polarized we allow ourselves to be).

What makes it really ugly is when strangers start to get personal and act like they actually know people's character in real life - simply because one may have a different political view than them.

But this is really a mirroring microcosm of larger society -- it's just a really ugly time for so many of us, and Trumpism has really put a lot of us on edge, ready to fight (and understandably so). But it would serve us all well to try and reach for some understanding and empathy instead of being so ready to slit each other's throats because we prefer a different Democratic party candidate.

theres a difference between (rightly or wrongly) accusing supporters of another candidate of some behavior...

...and claiming the media, the establishment, mainstream democratic voters, every other candidates supporters, every progressive organization that endorsed someone else over you, polls that dont show the results you want, hollywood talent agencies, etc are involved in a well coordinated conspiracy against your preferred candidate.

I'm not saying the Yang Gang persecution is real, I'm saying it's being claimed (I admit in retrospect the word persecution was incorrect, I rephrase to say they BELIEVE Yang is persecuted by news outlets).

What I believe to be true is that he is deliberately left out of the mainstream conversation. Whether that is due to his ethnicity or his policies or lack of political background is up for interpretation

Although undoubtedly I’m sure you’ve used that oh so clever jab at me as well. You’ve called mr.hood and others dumb just this week - simply because they have a different point of view.

You literally have nothing positive to say - ever - about anything.

Just look at your childish tantrum in the Yang post trying to thought police anyone who says something complimentary about him.

Seek help.

Internalize the hunger.

He can't even work inside a political party when it doesn't somehow directly benefit him.

The SECOND he knows he won't be the nominee he'll be back on some nebulous "independent socialist" shit.

After 39 years in the senate he can't commit (and doesn't pass much legislation either.)

I'll vote for him over Trump - but he simply is not a democrat and is only using the Democratic party to advance his career.

BTW - same thing with Bloomberg.

That "he's not even a democrat" line never made sense to me.

I understand why people deep in the party structure might be mad about this. On some, he didn't pay his dues stuff.

But why should that matter to me, just a regular voter?

Fuck the democrats. They just happen to be the far, far lesser evil of the two party system.

But why should we be loyal to them ? Fuck them. If anything, Bernie's arguable refusal to be a "real dem" is a positive.

Sure, keep thinking that.

But it just shows me he's using the party for his own advantage, but not really getting the advantage of having a major political parties apparatus. Then he bitches and whines about IT not supporting him when he needs it in the exact way he wants it.

Now, if the guy ran as an INDEPENDENT like he claims to be then sure, more power to him.

But if it makes you feel good to be "special" then sure - all he did is trade the power of a political party to get your "respect."

Can someone do a "When keeping it real goes wrong" on him??

Like folks want him to go off and do his own thing as an Independent. It makes no sense to do that. Had he done that in 2016, he would not have gotten nearly support until way late since the MSM already was focused on Hillary vs Trump. Then had he actually pulled half of the party like he did in 2016 in the General and the Primary then they'd be calling him all kinds of a spoiler. Hell the fact that he's willing to stick around and help bring those people into the party AND let Dems ride the wave of enthusiasm in their party that Bernie sparked is so underappreciated. 2018 has as much to do with Bernie's "Political Revolution" message than it just because Hillary lost.

i also hope its none of the billionaires, or pete or.....

but there's no chance in hell that i would vote for trump or fail to vote just because my preferred choice does not make it
(that would be rather foolish and shortsighted)

I also think that the primary process thus far has been left.....wanting
there has to have been a better process of selecting whom the eventual nominee would be
i dont know what that process would look like but would like the party to critically revisit what we've done this time round.

Deciding...the thing that was fucked with this round is that so many had the hubris to run. The system is not perfect but what other way would be fair.

The only thing I would change is have Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, all of the same day. That way all the parts of the Dem party have their say in who will be the nominee,

I like that small states have a huge roll in this process, otherwise, as far as dems go NY and Cali would just dominate whatever decisions for nominee there are and the rest of us would feel left out.

But “winning” iowa and New Hampshire definitely have an outsized role. Even potentially effecting SC and NV...it’s very likely that Obama may not have won SC if he hadn’t won Iowa, Black voters by and large will back who they think can win in the general

The only thing I can say for sure is that hardcore sanders supports WONT vote for
anyone else in the general(or they will vote for trump), no other candidates’ supporters are of that mind, so altho it sucks, if that’s the only way to get everyone out to vote then...
