and I was looking forward to peeping the waitress branching out, esp. since I've always thought she was hot on the low...
but the acting/delivery just didn't sync with the writing to me... even the lines that should've been funny didn't work, just zero chemistry to me... the guys hanging out together felt like a cheap rip-off of "The League"
I'll give it one more shot though based on the okp connect and sepinwall said this was the only of the 3 ep's he screened that he did not laugh at once...

I thought the writing was great. But I didnt believe anyone delivering them. The only part that got a chuckle out of me was the double take when his wife went from hot to not.

The couple with the anniversary seemed like Pete married to Kevin's wife, Jenny? The weird, angry guy was like Taco off drugs. Olivia Munn made me think of Ruxin's wife and her husband, the self help guy didn't really seem to have any self awareness like Andre.
They just gave me that kinda vibe, mainly becuz of the first two characters I mentioned.
I did like The Waitress from Sunny's character tho'

vance and amy are a little over-the-top, but dave and julia really hold it together. the first episode was a little rushed, but that's a common complaint for a pilot that's 22 minutes. it was seriously funny though, these actors/actresses have good timing.
The crazy couple and the normal couple work for me. But the type A couple (Olivia and the Bentley dude) are not working at all. They're too over the top, even beyond what the crazy couple are doing.
At the very least it's better than Outsourced and at times seems to be doing about the same as what 30 Rock and The Office are offering up this season.

I find them funny at times, but the chemistry isn't quite there yet. The story has spent the least time on them though.

In fact Leigh and Rex were used really well this ep. I think this show has a lot of potential. I'm gonna give it the season and see where it goes. Who knows? Maybe it pulls a Parks & Rec.

can't say I'll make an effort to catch it (only watched tonight because I went home early due to the weather), but it seemed leaps and bounds better than the 1st ep. Tons of little things (the table hopping, Olivia Munn's husband trying to over-sell the man cave) were funny, and the writing felt pretty smooth and not forced.

I still have trouble accepting that anyone would hang out with Vance willingly. He kind of reminds me of Kramer from Seinfeld as the weird dude who everybody puts up with because of some reason, but I don't feel like the show has established that reason yet. His sole purpose seems to be to make the main couples life worse and they just seem to be cool with that.

i could not stop laughing at the scene when dude was watching "the wire". that's exactly how i feel when i'm watching tv with my girl. and of course, she didn't get the joke. she was like, "what's so funny?!" and then started talking about some other shit while i was trying to watch the rest of the episode. after the second wire reference, she got the joke and we both started busting up.

for the cancellation... the show had to find an audience and it couldn't. I believe 30 Rock originally followed Community this season and then The Office. I guess they lost viewers after 9:30 and plugged the unsuccessful shows, Parks and Recreation, Perfect Couple and Outsource in between the shows that were doing well. Had they made that arrangement in September the show may have done better. Too little to late. I saw the finale because I read here Bignick was a writer on the show. And that is the only reason I watched it.
