I want it to be founded in some sort of exaggerated version of reality, so that it can mirror things I recognize and take them to the nth degree.
Arrested Development was never realistic. Seinfeld absolutely left realism behind for many of their episodes.
Realism in TV shows is overrated. Some shows it can help (Freaks and Geeks). A show like this? Nah. Go hogwild with it.
