This was much harder than I thought it would be. Gave me a newfound appreciation for those publications who do such lists.
A couple of caveats: 1. All of the films on this list are pretty much based in (North) America. That means no foreign films like City of God, British films like the Bond series, or any films that originated or are primarily based overseas, like Children of Men; 2. There are no 2008 films on this list, mostly because the year's only halfway over, and I didn't think it made sense to add a handful of films from this year and subsequently sacrifice other films on the list (the cuts I had to make for this incarnation of the list were painful enough)
