Mayfield definitely accepts a challenge and got better at every stage of his career. the fact he was such a high-volume passer, went downfield, and still turned over the ball at a fraction of the rate as Darnold/Rosen is impressive. him going to Cleveland ahead of the rest of the quarterbacks in this class, and plenty of people doubting him, oddly enough gives him more "disrespect" ammo even as the #1 overall pick.
we'll see, though. he had a much better cast in his overall time at Oklahoma than Darnold or Rosen, including a damn awesome offensive line the past two years. a lot of his scrambling was self-inflicted, him holding the ball forever, but he's not the athlete Russ is. also, what happens when he's not winning? last time he had a three-game losing streak, he transferred schools.
