Bron was crucified in 2010 for going to a team where he still had to *build* a dynasty nearly from the ground-up. That Miami team was ass in 2009. Wade as "the guy" barely led them to an 8th seed; swept in 1st round by Boston. Bron had to create the dynasty with Bosh & Wade - reconstructing the whole team.
KD is going to a mansion already built - and you're right: he had serious help in OKC. They had all the pieces - but it was KD who couldn't go into that extra gear - yet the criticism on him was luke-warm - because they loved that he seemed to play by the old rules.
No Country For Old Men in the modern NBA. KD is riding off the pioneering that Bron did - but unlike Bron in 2010, this decision lacked foresight and took zero courage. It's a lose-lose for his legacy. He wins? Well shit - you *had* to with that team. But if he can't win?
YIKES.
He literally has to win 4/5 titles in GS to justify this move.
