>30+ episodes since they've shared a scene. That string might >have been broken this season but I don't remember them having >a scene together. Last one was when Alicia was in the rural >area trying to depose the guy that Canning was keeping away >from her and Kalinda dropped off some clothes.
Yup. And sine Marguiles is a producer on the show, she has a LOT of pull in making this happen.
Which is shame, because prior to this, they spoke highly of each other and were genuine friends, etc.
It sucks because I dug Alicia and Kalinda as friends...I will say that's something Alicia lacks on the show, is a geunine friend to turn to.
I suspect or hope Alicia and Kalinda get some kind of moment of closure now that Panjabi is leaving...
I mean, I get it, Alicia is pissed off at her for fucking Peter. But, um, she fucked Will so it's like can you REALLY shade Kalinda out like that knowing you let your best friend from law school hit it and quit it multiple times?
Married or not, Alicia has always rang a bit hyopcritical in that regard.
>Outside of the conspiracy theory, the biggest problem with >Kalinda was that people loved her character so the writers >forced in all of these b-stores for her and they never worked: >her rivalry with Friday Night Lights dude, her husband, her >rivalry with Irish dude and her girlfriend cop, the >Kalinda/Cary relationship. She got some new life during the >split and she was kind of a double agent but that was short >lived. While her relationship with Alicia was strong, she >really shined in the procedural element/cases of the week and >the show has moved away from those. They probably should have >just spun her character off.
and the writers clearly fucked up the chances they had to create these interesting ass storylines for a character that so many fans love.
the b stories were lame and not up to snuff in regard to who the writers wrote Kalinda as: this very intelligent, powerful, resourceful and honestly, very ambigious (sexually, morally, emotionally etc.) investigator who played with folks agendas but always had something else going on. You don't create that kind of character and saddle her with that god awful ass "abusive husband" storyline where Kalinda was not somehow terrified of his abuse, turned on by it and revolted by it all at the same time and in the same episode or hell, even from scene to scene. that kind of flip flopping was ridiculous.
and the love interests? lame...god damn, Kalinda got some of the lamest love interests (Cary included) on the show...men *AND* women. SMH
basically, the writers had a goldmine in Kalinda but clearly didn't know just WHAT to do with her....and it really showed in the fourth season onward... Get Out the Room https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/get-out-the-room/id525657893
