the movie wasn't THAT bad!
i liked parts (the bathtub scene was most memorable), but overall it was just a good/decent movie.

E's way too harsh and sounds like he's got issue with the concept, scope, and pov of the original story. all of which are at the mercy of the regular execution of an adaptation film. E-Borough may enjoy his neat little screenplays, but if you're taking a source material (with a large following that you'd want to support the film), you don't want to stray from said source for the sake of making a technically tight film.

you give the people what they want: a visual journey similar to what's imagined in the book, solid acting/directing, some movie moments, and a couple surprises along the way.

i disagree with E on this one.
