One, is that the rape/murder was very graphic. As I said I'm glad they didn't go into detail, but apparently it was part of the reason she liked the book, it didn't hold back from anything.
Another, that I remember her mentioning is that rather than just going away for a while, Suzie's mom was having an affair with the detective. I thought that made more sense than her just leaving all of a sudden.
Again, I didn't read the book, so these are just second hand bits, but from things she mentioned sounded like they glossed over quite a bit in the film.
