nah. it's like making The Stand a movie, or The Wire. too many intricacies are lost. I'm not saying it'll be a bad movie, but it definitely won't be a "less is more" case. it'll just be "less is less".

I can see why some people would rather watch the movie first. I like lots of book-adapted movies and have never read the original.
I doubt reading the comic afterward would improve the movie, however. and several "oh shit" moments in the comic are going to be lost after you see the movie.
either way, if you end up thinking the movie sucks or is great, I'd still recommend reading the comic.
