just like we can have goofy comic book costumes instead of black leather suits

its not 2001. It just reads as out of touch after getting to a point in hollywood where you can actually use the designs of the people who got paid to design multi-million dollar characters instead of a group of people that don't know why giant eyes and gloved hands are less creepy than tiny man hands and eyes so small you have to guess what the character is thinking.

No kid is gonna go for that toy.

also kids are WAY more discerning about this stuff as i guess we've demonstrated in this post. I'm pretty sure this is what the studio thought when they redesigned it.

The idea that you can just give kids anything kinda goes against the fact that character design is a huge part of getting a degree in animation and why some characters make so much more money. Teen Titans GO made way more money than Teen Titans. Paw Patrol runs laps around PJ Masks.
