9. "So, biggest snubs: Into the Wild and Zodiac?" In response to In response to 0
Zodiac, I was expecting (though I thought Vanderbilt would take Polley's spot in the adapated category).
But Into the Wild, especially with the Oscars consistently eating up the based-on-a-true-story type and all the previous recognition it's received, is an odd exclusion.

This is the first year since the ceremony celebrating 2003 that features no non-fiction performance in best actor (the three previous winners and nine of the previous fifteen nominees had all been non-fiction role).
