the coincidences/links were just as forced and unlikely as everything else in the movie. not even Magnolia's coincidences were this ridiculous, and that's a movie that (aside from raining frogs) established from the opening scene that the scenarios we were about to see are highly unlikely but do occur. I probably shouldn't put so much on it, but for a movie that's supposed to be so grounded in reality, I can only suspend disbelief so much.
