Nas had a wealth of actually GOOD material from the late '90s that would have made a respectable album back then.
I dunno who the hell to blame, Nas himself, Columbia, or his exec producer, but I think major labels fucked up w/the "rearranging the commercial product when it was bootlegged" move. bootlegging ain't NOWHERE near as bad as it is now.
a lot of GOOD albums were ruined by that "rush new product" crap.
