I just no longer have the outright contempt for him and his music that I had in 2008 when he was, according to the youths of that time, the "greatest rapper alive." I think a lot of my adverse feelings about him were the result of that hyperbole. I was also in the beginning stages of becoming a huge Royce 5'9 fan around that time, and his anti-Wayne output during that time period only added to my own distaste.
But with hindsight I've come to appreciate his approach to the craft (man just rhymes and rhymes and rhymes and rhymes, which I can't hate on, on principle if nothing else) even if 50 or 60% of his music still isn't really for me.
