If you frame it as, "what's wrong with an interviewer asking those questions", then sure, it sounds unreasonable to take someone to task for asking the questions they ask.
Because that framing puts everyone in a vacuum, and doesn't take the context of those questions into consideration.
I don't like the notion of saying we know what someone is thinking, or even knows, but I think that it's a fair assumption to say that he knows he's putting people in a vulnerable place while extending a purportedly friendly hand.
I think Vlad knows he's putting people in vulnerable situations, but he's doing it in a way that subverts his actual role. He's trying to be part of the hip hop community, but is doing so in a way that's putting members of the hip hop community at risk by presenting himself as something of a friend while getting them to put their business out there.
So it's not as though he's this hard hitting reporter outside the community, simply doing his job by digging at the truth, wherever it leads.
