i can see your argument that the newspaper exploited her for...okay im not sure what the hs newspaper gains but i can see how the story might not be a good thing for her.
it was brave of her to speak on this though. what consequences will this have on her future? i wouldnt know. i dont think its automatically negative. did atlantic just do a "look at the story this hs did" kind of article or was it critiquing the hs article?
i would expect the atlantic to be much more"responsible" than a hs newspaper. i dont know how well managed hs newspapers typically are and how much adult filtering there is.
regarding the white vs black thing, i dont know. i would need to dig into it more. i get where youre coming from though, it would not be surprising if they treated a white girl doing the same differently.
