is that the whole time WE KNOW she's not ugly. it's the idiots in the movie who can't see her beauty. and then when she's revealed as a beauty in the final act the idiots in the movie finally catch up and see what we the audience saw the whole time.
this movie has been made dozens of times.
note: i'm assuming DUFF is a re-telling of the Ugly Duckling story.
