Being from the DMV area there used to be two stations that you could always switch to if you wanted a break from the popular rap and R&B stations, WHUR 96.3 and MAJIC 102.3. Both of those stations now play a Hodge-podge of 80's and 90's throwback R&B and rap for the most part. As a 40 year old I don't really care to hear stations playing music from my teens and early 20's that I didn't even like that much when it was intially released lol. Satellite radio is the only option for hearing stations dedicated to 60's and 70's R&B, which is kinda sad considering how important those decades are in black music.
